"Bilstein B12 Low" haha. Really interested to see how the rear fender gap came out with those sportlines. That's a brand new chassis!

I really don't think the front is any lower than the PRO kit, just that the rear MATCHES!, like it should.

Got the car torn apart and installed the fenders, lights and bumper cover installed. Need to adjust the panels and bumper cover a little better before I take them off for paint. I want to make sure that all the brackets are adjusted properly so the body parts go on easily when I get them painted. The cold start emission was in the way of the new bumper cover so I have it sitting in loose for now. I will try to find a solution for that tomorrow. I need a fender support bracket for the drivers side which I did not remove from the parts car which is no longer at my house so that will have to wait until next week. I have did not plug the fog lights in yet but the plugs are the same as the plugs on the 2012 front bumper cover that I removed. IF I can get the fitment to where I want it this weekend I will get everything painted next week and put it al back together next weekend if I can find the time. I am getting much better of tearing it all down after doing it twice in the last week. I hope putting it back together will get easier. Stay tuned....

Going to try to switch from my OEM S5 Peelers (19x9 ET33 ~30lbs) to the rotary forged, TSW Bathurst (19x9.5 ET39 ~20lbs)...did a test fit this weekend and had to shave some of the front caliper carriers off...now waiting on centering rings...its going to be tight with 235/35/19 at 24.25FTG, but will hopefully work out...pretty stoked...

Did you wrap yourself? How much did it cost you if not? I've been considering this for some time now. Even went so far as to buy the wrap but have been too lazy to give it a shot.

I looked into the shadow line tape and some other vinyl options but decided I'd leave it to the pros. I'm very happy with the results, it's virtually seamless. Mine came out to 300.

Had the clear bra protectant replaced all over the car including hood, front and rear bumper (painted bits) door edges, handles, a-pillars and leading edge of roof.

Got some minor paints chips repaired and the entire car buffed.

Replaced the rear lift gate window tint that was ripped.

The old protectant was discolored and really stood out on the white paint. Now it's invisible. Almost thought they didn't do it! Car looks amazing.

Accutint NW is Shoreline, WA did the work. Highly recommend them for people in the Seattle area.

Fenders, hood, bumper lights and associated brackets, hood hardware and a whole bunch of assorted brackets and small trim pieces.

Antlaurence- sorry no build thread yet. I still have a few bugs to work on (which I have just haven't gotten around to yet) and when I do I will write it up. I am just enjoying driving it.

Dropshadow-I had been thinking about this for a while and when I found a proper donor (and another A'ziner who needed some parts) I (we) bought a salvage car for what we needed. My old front end was peppered with stone chips which I was going to paint anyway so this hardly added much more cost.

the newer 180amp alternators require a different locking mechanism (orange tab, easily removed inside connector) to seat the electrical connector. Quick search of the part no. below and you can see the orange tab inside the connector.

Take a look here to get the rear trim off: http://www.audi-sport.net/xf/threads/avant-bootlid-plastics-removal-info-req.105041/

You have to give it a hard yank at the places where the clips are. Don't do gradual pull, but geab it firmly and yank.

Wash and wax this weekend right before the snow hit! Also put on the Nokian snow shoes, installed new doorsill lights, replaced the battery, and installed new Boch Aero windshield wipers. Was a productive weekend!

Yesterday I swapped out the BKR7EIX plugs for the BKR8EIX just in time to do a little roadtrip up to Breckenridge for the day. Had dinner in Frisco and a room in Keystone. Snowfall up here has been pathetic and the weather so warm, I'm still running my summer setup!!! Today will hit 60 but I may do the swap today while it is nice out and just drive my truck when I need to run out.

Have not noticed much difference in the way she runs with the BKR8's, but I will pull them in 1,000 miles to see how they look.

Today I met up with a fellow Ex AZ member in the area and we replaced the plugs, coils, filter and installed DV+.

Also updated fog, reverse lights with LEDs along with some puddle lights from his old all road.

Everything is running great with our any issues. He is going to help me with coilovers and sway bars when I do my bushings. Great guy.

Oh also installed my CR-15 brace support.

Good day over all.

That sucks as removing the hatch trim is a giant pain!

First time was hard for me getting the rear plastic gate cover off on the fear of breaking the cover, the front clips was straight forward the last clips at the black was harder. The trick I used was use the trim removal tool.First locate where the clips are locked in,pry the trim tool between the glass and cover and twist the tool to lift the cover while gently pulling the cover when doing so,eventually they come loose. When installing my back up camera 3/4 of the time was spent on the rear gate cover and hiding the cable.

Completed Saturday: Converted back to a stock exhaust from the AWE exhaust I had been running. Allroad is so quiet now! Hardest part of the removal/install was removal of one of the three bolts connecting the downpipe to the exhaust. At least until z realized that the bolt was easily accessible from the other side of the engine bay.

I confirmed while researching this project that the A4 avant and allroad exhausts are different. The mount points are in different locations.

Big thanks to zspec (sadly no longer in the Audi club) for generously offering the use of his lift and essentially doing all the work, not to mention brokering the deal to trade my AWE for a stock exhaust from a 2015 allroad.

They said the bushings on the power steering hose are intact and do not look torn or damaged, they're not seeing anything loose or damaged and that they would have to make a $900 guess by replacing that line and seeing if the shudder improves. They think the bushings are just not as firm as they were originally, allowing extra movement. They say it shouldn't be a concern but more of an annoyance.

i had this low speed issue a while back, and they replaced the power steering hose under a TSB...ill try to find the paperwork if you think that would be helpful. It still happens on occassion, and whenever I've brought it up to an SA, they say they cannot reproduce issue/its normal...so annoying

Thanks, Kosta. I learned that they updated the power steering hose in 2011 so I have the new version. Agree it's definitely annoying. I may take it to a different Audi dealer after the new year and see if they have better luck figuring it out.

It probably wasn't as good as OEM regarding leather quality but it was worlds better than my totally dried out and crusty OEM boot. That thing had seen many a latte spilled on it in the 8 years prior to my ownership.

Anybody have any experience with the DTM edition knob available from ECS (https://www.ecstuning.com/b-genuine-volkswagen-audi-parts/dtm-edition-shift-knob-leather-soul-black-silver-6-speed/8e0863278dhvdu/)? I'm leaning towards that same BFI knob, but the DTM edition does come with a new leather boot w/silver stitching...

Alcantara on a part used as much as a shifter is a no go imo. I had an Alcantara steering wheel/ebrake handle and ended up selling them.

Yea I'd do air leather over alcantara too. I just feel like alcantara plus sweaty palms would get gross after a while...

Not to mention the fabric tends to wear poorly if it's not high quality.

I agree with everything except this statement. Alcantara is by definition, high quality. Unless of course it's not Alcantara, in which case all bets are off.

But yes, as much as I love Alcantara, on a shift knob, on a daily. That's a no go

ive got the DTM alcantara knob on my b6. have had it in there for over four years, 3 being daily driven as an electrician leaving work with dirty hands. I clean it off with a damp microfiber when i clean the interior and no problems at all, still looks great! only complaint was spending that much on a shift knob, but damn its sexy.

Thanks for the feedback all! I'll definitely post up pictures when I decide what option I go with and get it installed. Might be a bit though, as I'm going to spend money on a Stage I tune first probably, If i can ever get around to checking/replacing the cam follower.

The reason I always feared getting alcantara stuff. I live in south Florida and between the sweat and heat, it would be destroyed in a short amount of time. I'd say do the perforated leather and shift boot. Looks great, feels great and the peace of mind it will last.

Please post up your impressions once you've logged some mileage. I told GIAC I was installing this FMIC and got this response recently when I inquired about their Stage 2 roadmap for the B8.5. I still intend to move forward but wasn't sure if I'd be switching over to APR Stage 2 depending on how everything is running.

"You may want to hold off on installing the front mount for when we have a stage 2 file depending on how well it flows and how much additional volume it creates. Sometimes front mounts will cause boost to drop a little bit until we change the file to accommodate the additional volume."

If you have a vagcom, I'm sure they would be interested in seeing your logs.

Haha. We went through the same deal. She always hated the b7 because I "made" her trade in we old b7 on it. Finally let her pick out a q5 and I sold my b6, now I'm in the b7 and there have been zero complaints about cars in over a year aside from a weird issue with the q5s radio which just needed a software update. The q5 gets crappy gas mileage for a 2.0t but it drives well and isn't totally gutless. When the CPO warranty expires in a year or two I'll probably get it tuned.

It's well worth letting the wife choose her own car though. It's nice not having deal with car complaints.

They're facing the right way - just might be tough to see in that pick. Yes, like Arc said, like the wing of a plane.

The brackets are for my Rocky Mount Euro Fork Bike mount. I just leave them in because they're really only visible from up top visually and it's much easier than putting them in each time I want to mount up the bike.

Must be the angle since there are no spacers on the wheels. Trying 3 in the front and 4 in the back. With 3 on all four corners seemed close to stock but there felt to be some rocking (ever so slightly) back and forth when you come to a stop.

Also both fenders were notched after the alignment. Thanks again for the heads up on that.

That's really nice! I am going to put OEM S5 wheels on too and then lower with pss10. Hope it won't rub

Here is my test fit, but can't tell if it will rub or not until lowered and running on the street

Installed ECS snub mount...bit of a PITA for the 3.2. Discovered the OE foam mount was cracked in a few spots, so glad I got this done.

Then gave her a much needed wash, full claybar, light scratch buff, and wax. First time doing a claybar and wow, what a difference it makes! Probably the cleanest she's ever been since new ☺️.

Those look nice. How low are you? Any rubbing?
Thanks. For now it's 25.5 inches fender to ground all around. Stock sport suspension was around 26.75 inches fender to ground. Fronts rub during aggressive turns, rears rub on big dips or harsh roads over 30mph. Camber is just under 2 degrees all 4 corners. I'll probably raise it 1/2 inch next week when I have some time at work.

Thanks. You'll like the fitment! Are you on currently on standard suspension? With oem sport suspension at 26.75 inches fender to ground I had no rubbing issues at all. S5 spec rotors make a huge difference in looks and fitment vs the my stock 19x8.5 rotors. Not sure how low you plan on going but see my response to avantagg.
This was stock oem sport suspension.

Yes, I am in stardard suspension now. Just bought it on Dec 31, 2016 [:p] So start working on it bit by bit. With the 17" winter wheels, it sits 27.5" now. I plan to drop to 26". My S5 is 25.5" too and with 20X10.5 ET25 275/30/20 it slightly rub which I dun want that happen on my daily. BTW, have you try remove the screw inside the front wheel well that to secure the liner and the fender? After I remove it on my S5, the front didn't rub as much as before

Added under seat storage to the drivers side. Would have added the passenger side except I managed to lose one of the speednuts while installing the drivers side bin. The speednut shot through the hole and got lodged behind the outer metal under the seat out of sight while attempting to push it in to place. Doh!!!

Ordered a few replacements and will install passenger side eventually.

Purchased bins from ECS (https://www.ecstuning.com/b-genuine-european-volkswagen-audi-parts/front-underseat-storage-bin-kit-pair-sabre-black/8k0898001/)

Followed the instructions on Audi Enthusiasts website (http://www.audienthusiasts.com/ProjectUnderseatbin.html)

Straightforward install and great write up on the instructions.

Classy upgrades! I keep going back and forth on the flush rails. The utility of the raised rails keeps me from switching but I love the look of the flush ones.

Roof rail swap is pretty straight forward. It's time consuming, all the pillars have to come out before you can drop the headliner. It took me a full day with the biggest PITA being the C-pillar seeming to take up half the time of removal and install. I attribute that to probably not having all the appropriate trim removal tools. Key word is patience.
As far as tracking it goes, I want to put some more work into the brakes first. Not thrilled with the pedal feel. Definitely brakes sooner but the stock master cylinder and brake booster don't really give me the confidence I'm looking for with these 8 pot calipers. Found a master cylinder/brake booster setup from a D4 S8 (same as RS5) that I'm hoping I install within the next month.
Also not sure if the 20" RS Rotors are appropriate for track use. Might need wider tires.

Thanks! I imagine it's going to be a sacrifice in utility but that's what the carrier bars are for. For me it just came down to preference and being delusional enough to think that all the work required was worth it.
I really like the way it looks and feel that it falls more in place with the rest of the product line.

I'm loving it so far. It pulls hard as hell! I updated the hoses, TMD and high flow intercooler pipe too so there's no bottlenecks. I double checked all my hoses when I got home tonight to make sure everything was secure (an hour in the car) and popped the shroud. The intercooler was cold as ice! Awesome.

I've noticed my IAT'S hover around 18-20* above ambient too. With the stocker I was about 35-40* above ambient. Car runs a few degrees more timing, especially when I'm running E85.

What intercooler piping did you get? I was eyeing that ECS hard pipe kit.

Installed Q5 style rear wiper. Took a chance on a cheap ($10 USD including shipping!) aftermarket one from eBay and am pleasantly surprised buy the OE-like fit & finish. Will see how the actual blade holds up over time, worst case scenario I buy the OE replacement blade later.

Wipes much better than stock, no more streaking and super quiet. The original arm did not want to come off no matter what I tried (wd40 + heat gun + pulling and twisting and swearing). So I gave up and just used a dremel to cut it off. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20170411/88b999b8459f054eb093129b65805558.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20170411/f49cdc5e921a0d928919a5fd22f50f8a.jpg

I got the OEM Q5 one 82$. (cap, arm and bosch wiper)
And it wasn't realy better when the car is dirty dry in winter, even with a lot of windshield washer, it leaves traces.
But when it rains, it's just fine.

I assume, the arm doesn't put enough pressure on the wiper blade.

CH > CH-R but CH-R's are the only one worth getting for the allroad in 5x112

Old holes are filled then CNC drilled new holes. 5x112 and 5x120 are close enough to not be super visible.
If you look closely IRL you could see that the holes are a tiny bit more rounded off towards the center of the wheel.

CH in 19" at 5x112 doesnt cut it on an allroad width- and offset-wise.
Meanwhile, 5x120 gets the good stuff [>_<]

10jx19" ET20 on all four. Suited with 255/30-19 Michelin Pilot Super sports.

Balls. No way those would come close to fitting on my b7. Those are MEATY!

10x19" et20 is doable on the B7 I think...but require some tweaking I guess.
Hell, I even managed to do 10x18" et25 all round on a small body B5...B7 must be doable then [emoji23]

I should correct that. It might be doable but I'm not interested in doing the modifications required to do it, haha. No rolling fenders and tweaking camber simply to get massive wheels to fit. Regardless of scene points and how amazing those CHs look. 10" wheels are a VERY tight fit on the b7 chassis though.
