Wow amazing setups on some sexy cars!! Not sure how active this thread is but I am looking at getting some second hand rims and tires and haven't seen the combo on here yet. I'm a little worried the tires may be too meaty. I have a 2015 s3 stock ride height right now. May do h&R springs in the furture. But they are 255/35/r20 tires on 20x8.5 t32. I think the seller miss posted it and it is 20x8.5 +35. He ran them on a 2016 audi TT on stock height. It looks like the rims would fit but I'm afraid that the tires won't may have to put 245/30 on them. Any advice would be great. Thanks!

Not super aggressive, but these are rs quattro reps(ecs) with 15mm spacers all around on H&r sport springs.....left rear was actually rubbing BC axle is off center by about 5 mm. Hi guys. Sorry if I’m hijacking. But I have a 2016 A3 I just purchased. I just found 4 brand new hmr v710 for 500 bucks on the local classifieds. Only thing they are 19x8.5 with 35 offset. Will these work on my car at stock height? I dont really plan on dropping my car. Although all your cars look amazing in not crazy about the super close tolerances. I live on Long Island and the roads here suck. How will 19s make the car differ from my factory 17s?
I was originally looking for 18x8 with 35-40mm offset. Just something to stick out slightly more than stock but if these will work I will go for them. Thanks

Hey man. You have regular stock height? Or stock sport suspension? Mine was regular stock height and it was basically a monster truck....et 35 at stock height will look weird...if you don’t plan to lower at all go with et45....I run 19s in the warmer months and 18s in the winter for the extra sidewall. 19s look cooler but I do enjoy the 18s during the winter months( and don’t worry as much) BC I have a little more rubber

Hey Man, I just got a 2015 A3 too. Super fun ehh? I’ve been searching similar sizes as you. Find an online wheel/tire calc. Some have graphics to help you visualize.
I want to stick with 18”, and most likely 18x8. 18x8 Et 46 is a Stock Wheel size, I think 18x8 ET 40 is what I want, should be about flush to fender without poking out. I think Et 35 on 8 in wide wheel will poke out just a little, but Et 35 on 8.5” wide obviously would be different (less poke I think). Verify with a calc. If the difference is 1/2 the amount of the increased 1/2” in wheel width, then we’re only talking about a few millimeters.
Go back in this thread a page to October, perfect photo of 8 Et 40 head on view. It’s perfect!

I’m regular stock height. No sport suspension. So et35 will stick out passed the fender?
Ideally I want 18x8 et40. Stock height.
A lot of the pre owned rims I see for great deals are et35 though that’s why I’m curious what it would look like in an 18” configuration.
How does a wider rim with the same offset change the look. For example a 18x8 et35 vs 18.5x8 et35?
Will the wider wheel cause it to stick out further or is it opposite.
Sorry for all the questions. Rims confuse me. Thanks.

This was my question. So a wider rim with the same offset actually goes inward?(sticks out less)?

Ya, I get the question. You’ll get the best understanding by playing with this website:
https://www.wheel-size.com/calc/?wheel1=205-40-18X8ET35&wheel2=225-45-17X7.5ET40&fcl=50mm&wcl=30mm&scl=50mm&sr=0mm
Put in the numbers for the wheels you are considering, and see side-by-side graphic.
You’ll see that 35mm inset on an 8.5” wide wheel leaves a different amount of back space and distance from outer edge of rim to fender lip compared to the same ET/Off-set on an 8” wide wheel.
Picture is 1000 words, so check it out!
Only thing is that the fender position on this website does not corolate to Audi A3, therefore you’ll need to have a reference point. For me after looking at photos, I find that 8” wide on ET 40 is what I like (or ET35 + 5mm spacer on 8” rim)
Another thing you can do is get a large carpenter square. Put one leg on the ground, and the other end touching the fender. So long as you have stock size wheel, this will work. If you already have spacers. Then the tire on the ground will be in the way. The orientation of the square should be so that you know you have exactly vertices/plum reference from the fender to the ground, running past the face of your wheel. Now use another ruler and measure horizontally the distance from the square to the outer edge of the top of the rim (in millimeters). You can then know that so long as your new wheel is same width reducing ET will get you closer to the square. Exceed the the reduction by the amount on your ruler, then you’ll have a little poke. Just remember your square references the ground, so if you change wheel diameter then you’ll have a little error, proportionate to the amount of camber dialed in to your suspension. I bet it would still be close enough, unless you have some crazy like negative 3 or 4 degrees camber.
Check out the website man :). It’s easiest.

Darn, I can’t edit. My reference to Spacer above is wrong. Meant to say that et45 + 5 mm spacer is equal to et40

Thanks Grey3 and AlexQS. I have a general understating now and the websites you guys provided helped a ton. I have narrowed my search down. Ideally I will go with 18x8.5 et 45 or 18x8 et 40. I may consider doing the same specs in 19s as well. It’s winter here in ny so I am searching for used for a couple more months since I can’t put them on until spring. If I don’t find anything good I will probably go with the vmr v710s.
One more thing, I emailed a vmr rep and he said the recommended fitment for my car at stock height is the 19x8.5 et 35. I was under the impression after my research that would stick out to much

I looked those up. Good choice for visual appearance. The look of that wheel really fits the look of the car well.
Are you considering wheel weight? The driven wheels being being part of the rotating mass (unsprung weight) is important to me. I’ve heard taking 10 lbs off the rotating mass is similar to taking 100 lbs out of the trunk, if you know what I mean. This may amount to only 10ths of seconds on a drag strip, but reducing wheel weight also makes the brakes and suspension function better.
I put Enkei RPF1 on Mini Cooper S years ago. Each wheel about 12 lbs lighter than stock. Made a big difference on the butt-dyno.
The factory optioned 2015 A3 18” wheels on my car are OE Part Number is 8V06061025AQ (Photo here: https://midwestwheelandtire.com/product/audi-a3-2015-2016-2017-2018-8v0601025aq-58949h-58949-alloy-wheel-rim?gclid=CjwKCAiA66_xBRBhEiwAhrMuLWf3Jas8euo7dBto Pm4R5A2UXoKxR5aARSEicy_Sa28GAM1wpXI7hBoCn8gQAvD_Bw E ) They are 25 lbs.
I like the Enkie PF01 at 18.2 lbs, but they’re spendy for by budget. The Enkie TFR is less attractive than PF01 in my opinion, but would not be bad looking. The TFR is 19 lbs., and I can find them new for only $225 per wheel. They’re 18x8 et45 and I may try a 5mm spacer just for fun.
For anyone with 8.5” wide wheels, do you notice increased grip over 8” wheel, an advantage at the track? I’m not sure if theres enough increased grip to be worth the increased weight. Although wide wheels look super cool in my opinion.

Since we’ve completely derailed this thread, might as well make sure info is accurate. Someone needs to post pics of their wheel setup to get us back on track.
I know I’m long winded, be sure to get all the way to step 4 in the math to get distance rim poked out from wheel mounting surface.
It’s been a while since I’ve shopped wheels and had to figure this out. I found out I was wrong again, that for a given ET, increasing wheel width will increase poke. (In a previous post I had been thinking it was the other way around) Examples below.
Ok let’s run the math. (Please check my math for error, don’t rely on me for your purchase decision)
ET is the distance the rim is inset from the center line.
Example with Stock Wheel Size:
18” x 8” ET 46
1. Convert rim width inches to mm
8” = 203.2 mm
2. Now divide rim width by 2 to get the centerline.
203 mm / 2 = 101.6 mm
3. Now add ET
101.6 mm + 46 mm = 147.6 mm backspace
Backspace is the distance from the face of rotor-hat (lug nut mounting surface) to the back of the rim. This measurement may help you to determine if the inside of the rim may run into the suspension, but obviously that’s usually not the issue, as it’s the sidewall of the tire that matters.
Now, for the number you’re looking for:
4. Subtract the backspace from wheel width. You’ll be left with a number representing how far the rim goes from the rotor-hat-face out towards the fender.
203 mm - 147.6 mm = 55.4 mm
Stock wheels on A3 stick out 55.4 mm from hub, and are still well inside the fender well.
———
Let’s run math on my favorite size
18 x 8 ET 40
1. Convert rim width inches to mm
8” = 203.2 mm
2. Now divide rim width by 2 to get the centerline.
203 mm / 2 = 101.6 mm
3. Now add ET
101.6 mm + 40 mm = 141.6 mm backspace
4. Subtract the backspace from wheel width.
203 mm - 141.6 mm = 61.4 mm
———
Let’s try 18 x 8 Et 35
1. Convert rim width inches to mm
8” = 203.2 mm
2. Now divide rim width by 2 to get the centerline.
203 mm / 2 = 101.6 mm
3. Now add ET
101.6 mm + 35 mm = 136.6 mm backspace
4. Subtract the backspace from wheel width.
203 mm - 136.6 mm = 66.4 mm
——
18” x 8.5” ET 35
1. Convert rim width inches to mm
8.5” = 215.9 mm
2. Now divide rim width by 2 to get the centerline.
215.9 mm / 2 = 107.95 mm
3. Now add ET
107.95 mm + 35 mm = 142.95 mm backspace
4. Subtract the backspace from wheel width.
215.9 mm - 142.95 mm = 72.95 mm
———
18x9 et35
1. Convert rim width inches to mm
9” = 228.6 mm
2. Now divide rim width by 2 to get the centerline.
228.6 mm / 2 = 114.3 mm
3. Now add ET
114.3 mm + 35 mm = 149.3 mm backspace
4. Subtract the backspace from wheel width.
228.6 mm - 149.3 mm = 79.3 mm
———
19 x 8.5 Et 45
1. Convert rim width inches to mm
8.5” = 215.9 mm
2. Now divide rim width by 2 to get the centerline.
215.9 mm / 2 = 107.95 mm
3. Now add ET
107.95 mm + 45 mm = 152.95 mm backspace
4. Subtract the backspace from wheel width.
215.9 mm - 152.95 mm = 62.95 mm

Just saw this. Sorry for the delay. Its amazing once dialed in, trying to get more and more seat time. But I am in Street Mod in the gridlife time attack series. Looking at getting to a few Global Time attack events once all this pandemic clears up.

Just saw this. Sorry for the delay. Its amazing once dialed in, trying to get more and more seat time. But I am in Street Mod in the gridlife time attack series. Looking at getting to a few Global Time attack events once all this pandemic clears up.
Awesome good to know. I was primarily curious about if this chassis was worth the expensive coilovers. I have BCs on right now and wasnt sure if I should upgrade. What other mods do you have? How are you doing in the time attack stuff? Very interested in this

Besides the MCS dampers just a rear sway bar, sticky tires and wideish wheels, and big brakes. Power wise, just Bolt ons and tune. The car is great, I just need to get more comfortable in the car.

Sure. It's made by JC Sportline (China). I wasn't super impressed with the fit and finish at first, but it wasn't terribly expensive. Less than $200. The finish is a bit wavy and the curve in the spoiler didn't match the curvature of the glass. I had to push it down to get the spoiler to overcome the gap in curvature. However, I installed it nearly three years ago, and the wing hasn't budged a bit. After pushing it down during the install, it fits decently well. I'm sure by now the stresses in the materials have relaxed to the point that if I were to remove it, it would maintain the curvature of the rear windshield. Finally, the finish hasn't deteriorated at all during this time frame. It looks just as good as when I first received it. All in all, for the price paid, I'm satisfied.

How about that hood??? Its subtle! If it was painted of course... bare carbon not so much. And its not like any of the stock hoods really fit on these cars for some reason so I cannot imagine AM hoods are worse...

The hood is the CF Revozport Hood for the RS3. It did take a little finagling to get it to fit correctly. We also had to drill some holes for some of the hood hardware, which I felt should have been there already. Ultimately, we had to slide the driver's side fender out 1-2 mm to prevent contact between the hood and fender when opening it. It's a tight fit. Most aftermarket CF hoods don't fit all that well, but this ones is acceptable now. The finish is good, but the black metal mesh that comes installed in the vent is not finished well. We accidentally ended up pulling the paint off it when I had it wrapped in PPF. Subsequently, I removed the metal mesh and had my body shop refinish it in Sepang Blue Pearl to match the car.
I did debate partially wrapping it in vinyl to match the Sepang Blue Pearl, but couldn't find anything that was close enough. I also debated partially painting it, but I didn't want to damage the factory finish in case a.) it didn't fit or b.) I had warranty issues, and c.) I wanted to sell it down the road. Also, the Sepang Blue Pearl is dark enough so it doesn't stand out way way too much. It might be a different story if I had a Glacier S3. With the OEM CF spoiler and CF roof spoiler, there's enough carbon fiber to tie them together. I'm sure I'll add more CF later as I find subtle items that aren't too ostentatious.

That's awesome to see some track enthusiasts A3s. Initially mine was gonna be a drag car but started getting more into road course. Mine is at about 600hp with built motor and BCs with pss tires, rear sway bar with end links, front super pro bushings that add caster and rear camber arms. Have to detune a bunch for track

My aggressive summer setup on H&r sports with 15mm spacers all around to really flush out the Rs3 blades.... just washed the pollen off her so I snapped a few iPhone pics! So with stagger of rs3s front was et. 46 to et 31 , rear was et 42 down to et 27 so to me that’s awesome and love the flush/ slight poke figment!https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20200402/32be8f4af2269e0b4e545dde12edf432.jpg

Does anyone have 19x8.5 Neuspeed RSE102's on 235/35ZR19? I got them installed a few weeks ago but need help with buying the correct wheel spacers for a flush look. Is there a wheel spacer calculator I can input some measurements into or can anyone here help? I had 10mm spacers on the front and rear with the stock wheels but the shop that installed the RSE102's removed front spacers because they wouldn't work with the RSE102's. The front wheels are now inside the fender but the rear wheels have some poke because the 10mm spacers are on.

That’s strange that they were able to put the spacers back on the rear, but not the front??
What was the reasoning that they were unable to install the spacers back up front??
What is the offset of your wheels?
This will determine which size spacers you’ll need..
Before you buy new spacers, I would take the front wheels off and take a look at why your current spacers aren’t working.

Get a “Square” and set it on the ground so that the other arm of “L” goes vertical past the face of wheel, and touches fender (put tape on fender first if you’re worried of scratching, or just be really careful)
Now take a ruler that has CM/MM scale on it. Measure the distance from the rim to the Square.

Tried to draw what I’m trying to explain. Green is the Square, Red is the ruler.
Hope it helps.

Love this thread! have read through the 50 odd pages are few times and picked up some extremely useful info.
Would seem that for an 8V S3 in a 19x9.5 wheel, the most aggressive, issue free offset is +38. With more folk leaning toward +40. With 235 and 245 being the tyre width of choice and sometimes some camber added to the setup.
Would anyone who has had experience with flaring/pumping the fenders (or guards as they are called in AUS) care to comment on their experience? Was it possible to achieve without body panel damage? And how much extra mm did the procedure yield? Worth the hassle?
My ideal wheel is a 19x9.5 +31. Am wanting to see if there's anyway to make this seemingly impossible fit possible, or if i should be content with a +38/+40 setup

Yes,
I bet you could get away with smaller ones... maybe 3 or 4 mm... and then maybe the wheels will seat on the hub cause right now mine do not... I will try this later this summer when I can waste money on additional spacers.

Just back off the lock collar, and turn the spring perch up or down. Measure from a point. I used endlink tab to make sure both fronts are even, the back is the same. So measure from base of adjuster to the spring perch. Just even them out side to side. Then adjust if its no level front to back. It's simple, but the fronts a bit of a pain since you need to take the wheels off. But super simple. They should have came with a "wrench" to adjust them easier.

I havent played with the height yet but I will.
On another note, I totally pulled the wheels from my S4... The S4 has a 66.5mm hub bore. The wheels here have that same bore.

So, since the S3 has a 57.1 Hub Bore, when I get home I will be swapping some hub centric rings onto them to see if I can get ride of my vibrations at higher speed.

So,
I put the hubcentric rings on this afternoon and took her to speed and all my vibrations are gone. Now, I think the ring is barely catching the hub, but it is enough to center the wheel. So i do not mind.
Prior to this afternoon I did not have any rings on the hub, just rim (66.6 bore or a 57.1 hub) and spacer.

Most I’ve had in the car is 2 people no one on the back, it may rub a little bit I also plan on getting an alignment and maybe adding like 1degree of rear camber. But I almost never carry more than 2 people at a time so shouldn’t be an issue. They are....kinda; I want to get something in 18x8.5/9 but I currently don’t have a second set of wheels to use and since I it’s Picked these up last month I might hold a little longer but I’m always on the look for something new especially in 18”

Not too sure how to use this forum yet or forums in general so I apologize if this is in the wrong place. Hoping someone here can help me out. I recently picked up a stage 2 s3 2015 with a big brake kit up front. It currently has the oem 19s on it and the previous owner had 19" rohana rfx11s on it 8.5 42 in the front and 9.5 45 in the rear. In the front he needed a 10 or 15mm spacer to clear the brake kit. Now my question is with these same rims as far as offset goes can I go without spacers and run 32 offset instead? Does that matter about a less aggressive offset with the spacers vs a more aggressive with no spacers as far as clearing the stop tech kit on the fronts? Thank you for all your help!

Sent from my SM-N976U using Audizine mobile app (http://r.tapatalk.com/byo?rid=87676)Not exactly that easy. If you just change offset, the spoke design may not be the same even if it is the same wheel. Like it could be more concave and hit the caliper. And then you won't be able to space them out. Now someone else may have the same setup and tell you it does or doesn't work. But i wouldnt change it up. He had this and used these to make it work. So unless otherwise told, i would stick to that. Unless you can test fit the wheel before buying it.

Thats exactly what I was thinking as far as the concave of the rim design. Thank you, itll be much more peace of mind to know itll work instead of trying to reinvent the wheel here so to speak.

I don't remember all the wheels in here, but there may be the ones you want in here for a reference. I will say wheel design plays a huge part. I have 19x9.5 et45 and they wouldnt even clear my stock a3 brakes. Hit the inner most part if the caliper bracket and had to space them out 3mm. And when i used the templates for bbks, none of them will clear. By alot! So i'll need new wheels if i go with a bbk or any kind.

One of my biggest debates is running 18s vs 19s though. Must say I really like the 19s just have concerns if I ever decide to go coils. On HR springs right now and its possible it will stay that way for awhile though too

Driving on the freeway earlier and ran over some piece of metal. 3 holes in the tire, a hole straight through the rim and 2 holes through the fender liner. Going to get the OEM rim repaired eventually, but it will wait for now. Picked these up at a Discount Tire earlier today.

Yeah, it sucks, but definitely could have been worse. Not even in love with the wheels, but I can't be waiting days for a repair, weeks for wheels to be shipped or driving on a spare, which is not an option. The tires are Hankook Ventus V12 Evo2 235/35/19. The wheels are Voxx Masi 19x8.5 +35. Kind of a cheapy set up, the tires cost more than the rims. All black everything is also not the way I wanted to go with the car, but it will due for now.

So just a question here hopefully someone can help. Was looking at a set of rohana rfx5 for my 15 s3. Off of speaking to a few people I decided on 19x9.5 in the rear and 8.5 in the front. This wheel guys expert opinion which is "guaranteed fitment" as he is saying is 19x8.5 et 25 all the way around. Im on hr springs. Im all for somewhat of an aggressive fitment here but just dont want anything ridiculous ya know. Any opinions or advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance

I feel like they would fit, but with a proper 255/30 20 tire I’m not sure. A 245 would probably work but depending on brand u may have a tad stretch.... hopefully a true guru will chime in

My aggressive summer setup on H&r sports with 15mm spacers all around...
Love your setup. I just installed 10mm all around. Thinking I need to go 15mm in the rear.
FYI - I'm running TSW Bathurst 19x8.5 43mm Front and 32mm Rear on a lowered S3 with 245/35 PS4's. I tried fitting the TSW 43mm on front of my RS3 with 10mm spacers but they do not clear the brakes. Would love to see someone successfully running Bathurst's on an RS3.
IMHO: Aggressive is any setup that pushes fitment at the fenders.

I’m currently stock height, 19” stock wheels and ECS flush spacers...10mm front, 17.5mm rear. So if the stock wheels are 19x8 et49 with a 10mm spacer would be 39mm offset.
I’m looking at a set of RSE102s in 19x8.5 et45, which would have almost exactly the same poke as my current setup.
I see several cars with the same width, but less offset, that aren’t as flush as my car. Some have 9.5” wheels that look exactly like mine, and some poke out a lot more.
I just had assumed the 19x8.5 et 45 would be the perfect fitment. I just can’t stand wheels that stick out, but I would also hate to buy new wheels and still use spacers on the front. I want a square setup so I’m flush without spacers up front, a 5-10mm spacer to make the rear have the same poke.
I’ve just noticed a lot of variation in people’s setups, so I suppose I’ll have to lower it and then measure.

The Black Optics whees should be 19x8 +49 stock, with a 10mm spacer you're at +39 now
A 19x8.5 +45 would match the 19x8 +39 exactly, a +40 would push the wheel out another 5mm
Hope that helps!

19x9 +40 or 45? I want to fit the widest tire possible...255 or 265/30. I drive pretty aggressively on curvy roads daily, frequent trips down the Tail of the Dragon, and maybe some track days. I want the front as flush as possible without a chance of rubbing, and then I’ll space the rear out to match.

Don’t track my car so I can’t speak to that. A 245/35 19 will work with those wheels and won’t rub. Probably looking at a mild stretch tho. For track many go with an 8.5 in wheel to run a 255 tire for a bit more tread on the road, plus 9.5 inch wheels are heavier I’m sure

Sent from my iPhone using TapatalkThey are. They are a 40et. The 45s will rub in the back like on the strut I believe. But im just thinking with a 5mm spacer you should be fine but you will have some poke. If you run the right tire it should be perfect. Ill take a profile pic of mine so you can see.

You could try it like a reverse staggered setup, but if you do that I’d run a 255/30 19 up front on the wider wheel and a 235/35 19 on the rear like the Rs3 does. Say it helps w under steer and the 255/30 won’t be stretched as bad on the 9.5 wheel. I also feel like we have slightly more room up front. Only thing maybe running a small spacer on the smaller wheels out back depending how those look

Indentical to our 245/40/18 wheel/tire offset appearance on our 2019 RS 3, having replaced the stock 19-inch 235/35/19 Pirelli's within the first two weeks of bringing it home. Major improvement in our extensive country back roads performance (now at 10K miles) runs. Two of the 19-inch Pirelli's failed due to bad road surface defects. The 245/40/18 configuration has no problems at all! on the same roads!

255/30 19 is the widest you should put on an 8.5 inch wheel. I’ve also been told it’s the widest that will fit up front on any non RS3.

Sent from my iPhone using TapatalkYes but when I got my new tires on them and the tire guy spun the wheels, they were doing the lambada side to side.... The coater was arguing with me that I contacted him a month after....I only did cause I follow him on Instagram and he posted he just repaired some wheels and I was furious cause I never knew he did that but he said he spins ever wheel but that was a lie cause if he did mine then he would have clearly seen. Then he said he assumed that since they were freshly coated that the other guy would have done it.....

I’m super jealous as I along with what feels like the rest of the Audi community have been on the hunt for a set of super clean s5 rotors and have been striking out for nearly a year now.
Curious why you’d shave them down to et38’s though. They fit on the s3 with the et33.

They don’t exactly fit flush and I’m real crazy about not poking. The rears are but the fronts poke 5mm. Even with the MSS springs I ordered, it wouldn’t be enough additional camber to tuck them. I shaved them all 5mm vs just the fronts so I could rotate them. I then installed the 5mm spacer on the rear. It’s my daily and I drive about 22k a year. The front camber currently is -1.0 and the rear I set at -2.0 (plan to adjust accordingly after springs) and I have the toe set at zero front and rear.
Excuse the shitty cell pictures. I’ll get some good ones after I install the springs.

i too want to shave some rims i was looking into. so when you did the shave, how much was there in total for you even shave the back? did they do a fill in the hole to make the lugs strong again or was there just enough material for 5mm.
im wondering if there is even more material to shave off.

It really all depends on the wheel. I was told typically 5mm is the max safe shave and inserts were not necessary.

Alright, I'm pretty sure I've settled on a setup, but wanted to see if anyone could reassure me on which option to go with.
2017 A3 S-Line (stock sport springs)
Rotiform Buc-M 19x8.5 (not sure if I should go et45 and add spacers to get fitment or et35, ECS Tuning's site says the ET35 won't fit, but based on people in this thread and willtheyfit.com it looks like they should)
Firehawk Indy 500 - 255/35r19 - Want to make sure these will fit without modifications required with stock springs. I plan to eventually go air, but that will be a while and might go to springs if I really need to get rid of the wheel gap
Does anyone see any issues with this setup and have recommendations on which et would be best?
Thanks!

Yes you can I run 19x9 et33 245/35r19 my fitment is pretty flush so a 40 noght rub but depending on your wheels specs they should fit. Here’s mine for reference my cars magride here it’s lowered but even when it wasn’t it fit no problems

Do you have mag ride?
Yup.
Looks Great! I just went with same exact tires on 19x8.5 +35 Rotiform Buc-M's
That color combo looks great.

Hi guys!
I went through almost the whole topic, great great mods!
I’m owner of a 2014 A3 Sportback, no S Line, it’s got the sport chassis though.
Currently on 17", I’d like to upgrade to 18" to keep it subtle.
I’m considering R3H03 wheels BUT I can’t really find about the best ET to suit the car. I can get them ET45 or ET35. I’d like to stay closer to OEM spec in the first place.
I might drop the car 30 to 40mm at some point as well.

Here’s how it could look.
So basically, what ET should I go for and why?
Small edit: I’ll be running 225 40 18
Thanks!

The Offset should be considered also intagent with the wheel width. You didn't specify which width wheel you're going with to determine best offset. In most cases, offset in the et40s is safer and has less clearance issues when lowering your suspension than most wheels with offsets in the et30s.
Hope that helps!

Wheels are 18x8.0.
I’m considering coilovers as well at the moment.
It gives a good idea of what I’ll go for then !

I have a 2020 A3S standard height suspension, looking at 18x9 with 40ET wheels and 255/35/18 tires, do you guys see any issues. Thanks

Fenders pulled 1/2 inch all around
Open road tuning custom spec coils with external reservoirs.
It rubbed on hard hard cornering. Most the paint issue came before the fenders were pulled and the custom coils went on.
I ran that set up on springs and stock fenders a bit which cause the damage.

Except for right front 235/40R19, long story short the tire supplier sent 3 of the correct size and one 235/40R19. I'm waiting on the replacement and have reinstalled my OE wheels in the meantime.
I'm happy with the fitment, flush to slight tuck at the top & a little poke at the bottom where the body curves in; also looks like I have plenty of room for when I lower it so no real concern about rub. Will be lowering as soon as I'm done with the GD Subaru in the background taking up all my jack stands [emoji38]232922232923232921232925232924232927232926

Crazy color! How do you like the 245s compared to stock 235s? Have you felt any noticeable comfort increase / decrease when going up in size?

Crazy color! How do you like the 245s compared to stock 235s? Have you felt any noticeable comfort increase / decrease when going up in size?It definitely felt like I had more grip & the steering felt tighter, both of which may just be from having a better tire and not so much the size change. I haven't driven it again since I got the replacement tire and definitely not enough to comment on ride comfort. I'll update you once I get some miles on them.

Nice! Looks really good. I plan to get 245/35 on my BBS 19x8.5 et42 when my stock Pirelli tires need replacing. Echoing post above—any change in ride quality? Thanks [emoji1303]

BBS FS. Check my pictures here (https://www.audizine.com/forum/showthread.php/635210-Random-Pic-Of-Your-8V-Thread?p=14492305&viewfull=1#post14492305). I didn’t think my setup would be considered “aggressive” enough for this thread.Very Nice [emoji41]
I was looking at the CH-R II but didn't want to jump to 20" wheels being that I live in pot hole country
Yeah I know mine aren't particularly aggressive but I used this thread a good bit to find the fitment I wanted so I figured I should contribute

10 Et40 will hit the strut.
My set up was 10et35 with 275 and it cleared by not even a CC thickness on the wheel itself

I don't have that setup but based on my research finding my fitment you'll have a bit of poke but you should be good so long as you're not lowered.

So just a straight TT not even a TT-S. That seems a bit shocking for how big they are.
