With 19x8.5 +45 & 235/35/19 tires, you will have absolutely no RUB on either inside nor outside, even if you lowered it alot. On my S3, I'm currently running 19x8.5 +38 with 245/35/19 Mickey Thompson tires with NO RUBBING, and I am lowered on H&R Supersport springs. I've ran up to 19x9.5 with 255/35/19 tires with no rubbing. Here is my trial & error.
http://forums.fourtitude.com/showthread.php?7140721-Tires-245-255-series-on-A3-S3
I have S3 on order. Im about to order Renn Motorsport RS-51 wheels. 19x9.5 (they have ET42 or ET50)
Trying to lower with H&R Super sport springs which lowers 1.2inches.
Trying to put 265/30/19 PSS tires.
My question is which offset is better fit without rub on strut nor outside.... ET42 or ET50 ???
I be doing Track days.. so trying to get widest tires as possible.
thank you.

After much debate, I'm going with AG M580 in a 19x9.5 with 255/30/19. Will be lowered on HR super Sports, hoping to get that lowered wide stance. Talked to several on this site and went through countless hours of looking at different set ups and decided this is the look I'm after. I will post pics as soon as I get them installed.

This is my set up.
VMR V709 19"X 8.5 ET45
Using 10mm spacers all round.
Effectively making them an ET35 set up.
I'M using Bridgestone RE003 235 35 19"
Perfect in my opinion for flushless.
I'm also on h&r sports springs

ET50 is far too conservative. Certainly the 42 is the way to go. Give me shout, and I can make you a killer deal on the tires and springs!

Very happy with quality of Neuspeed (and I am OCD!). Only marginally lighter than the 19x8 OE wheels as bigger wheels and Michelin PSS are heavier too, so all up saved around ~1 kg per corner.

Only concern is on the strut side. 9.5 et40 has been done and worked with 255/30 or 235/35 19 tires. I'm confident 245/35 would work also depending on how low you are.

Hey, im looking at the Stance SC1 19x9.5 et35 in Brushed titanium. I had Stance SC6 20x10 et42 on my B8.5 A4 before and the hubs were custom machined to a et38 in the rear to make it flush. Is there anyway, or is there any room on the hubs of these to be machined to an et40 for the SC1 in 19x9.5. Im looking to buy within the next two weeks for my 2016 A3 1.8t. Thanks in advance
P.S. I actually bought those SC6's from your demo car... The white B8.5 you guys had.

just the opposite here. some of the wheels posted are pretty nasty looking. (and that slammed look is terrible).... i sure hope people are not replacing the wheels that come with the mag ride with heavier wheels. the wheels that come with the mag ride are slightly less than 22 lbs (mag ride without black optics that is)
the to each his own principle is in full effect here

That's actually a 20" x 8.5" wearing 245/30 R20 Pirellis. We've used this fitment to a lot of success, including my own personal car.
Mine is an A3, but perhaps appropriate for the post. No rubbing at all on H&R Sports...a very small amount under heavy load on a Super Sport.

Yup, its getting on the aggressive side
You may have more luck with a 235/35/19 or 255/30/19
Ride height and camber settings will play a role in whether they rub or not

Can anyone tell me what offset roughly I am looking for if I'm running stock wheels (et50) with 15mm spacers to achieve the same or similar overall fit?

Stance SC1-Brushed Titanium - 19x9.5 et40, Solowerks Coilovers, Tires - 235 35 19
nice stance.
does the rim protrude out of the fender even a little (not looking at the tire)?
how does the solowerks feel?
in comparison to the stock stiffness.

The 9.5 +40 should fit nearly perfectly flush with the drop (slightly aggressive)
At stock height it might poke out a tad

The solowerks rides great, a bit stiffer than stock but great for our Florida roads. The rim is pretty flush with the fender with an et40 offset.

Like Mikeyhandz said, it allows you to go lower and create a stance that im aiming for. Square tires on a wheel isnt my thing...too ordinary. I get it in other states the roads are bad but here in Orlando we have beautiful roads where we have the freedom to play with all types of fitments.
And by the way iborrel, a 235 width tire is the recommended minimum on a 9.5" wiidth rim!

How much inner clearance do you have from the whee to the strut/shock ? I wanted to try getting 19x9.5 et45 see if I could squeez that in there

I'm 90% sure on the A3/S3s you have room to fit as high as a 19x9.5 +50 with a 255/35/19! 19x9.5 +45 should be no problem
were you able to get that size et.+50 on there before?

Yes, wobble bolts will work!
I meant to say that but I wrote spacers on accident.
Although I will need to check if the lug holes are built for 12mm lug or 14mm lugs. If its 12 we may need to machine them anyways for the 14mm bolts.
But it will definitely work!

I'm trying to decide on a summer wheel choice for my s3,
I was looking at the BBS CH-R in 19x8.5 with a 235/35/19 tire but not sure on the offset, I also like the HRE FF01 19x8.5+47
Which version should I go for?
19x8.5+40 outer clearance is +15mm over factory 19's, will this rub?
19x8.5+48 outer clearance is +7mm over factory 19's this won't rub.
I will probably just be keeping it at factory height maybe one day getting HR sport springs.
Keep in mind I want to swap back to my factory 18's 18x7.5 +46 during the winter and it's a daily driver.
I don't want to deal with any rubbing at all so I was leaning towards the +48 since it would be closer to the factory offset what do you guys think?
do you have pics of the wheel?
since you got another set and you kinda want to look different by changing wheels, you should go with the +40.
why change and try to keep to similar stock offset, is what I'm thinking. make it look wild and aggressive.

I have 19x8.5 ET35 with 245 wide tires and it's fine lowered on coils with 1/2 finger gap.
With 235 wide tires you can go to +30 or possibly even +28.
So yeah +40 will fit easily. 9.5 +40 would be an even better choice.

I see. That setup you have never rubs at all even with people in the car, hard cornering?
I'm not looking to go too aggressive, especially if the car is going to be stock height (no mag ride). So +40 on on 8.5 would probably be as far as I'm willing to go.
Can I keep the factory Alignment and run the 19x8.5+40 and go back to the 18's in the winter without any problems or tire wear issues you think?

If you're not lowering your suspension, then alignment isn't necessary. Not rubbing at all.
Might as well get 9.5 with 245 tires if you're getting a whole new setup as its only a bit more $$$. Would really look nice and BBS can't really weigh that much more in the 9.5 wide.

You shouldnt rub at all with the 8.5 +40
235 will fit square on the 8.5s, no stretch
245 fits square on a 9
will 18inch rims look good too?
I am wondering if this size would look weird cause I'm used to seeing my stock 19inches.

9.5 +32 will be aggressive but not impossible to fit
It'll poke probably 5mm past the fender
I'd probably recommend 235/35/19 on that set up if lowered

correct, they are the same wheels as the TT clubsport concept. Audi make these for the RS7 & RS6 as their "winter" wheels, in 20x9+35 & 20x9.5+32 respectively. Mine are the rs7 ones, so less concave. the TT clubsport are the rs6 ones.
On the RS models, they come in polished + silver only. Here is a before & after refinishing the inners black to match the look of the TT Clubsport.

Let me know if anyone wants to grab the first set ;)
So what about a 19x9.5 +30, the set of wheels I have my eyes on only have a +30 offset or less. It would be on a mild drop nothing crazy

9.5 +32 will be aggressive but not impossible to fit
It'll poke probably 5mm past the fender
I'd probably recommend 235/35/19 on that set up if lowered

Yup, I'll poke but stretch a 235 on that and you should be good with a drop and a little camber!

Kept my old wheels as I'm lazy and i just LOVE these/fifteen52..
Here's a quick pic for those that wanted it. (I know, needs to be lowered.)
A friend curbed a wheel, so he ordered me H&R sport springs to make up for it as I plan to refinish these later anyway(or you can buy them not refinished[:D]).. I'm in the middle of moving so this is simple and easy for now. If I hate the springs, I'll end up ordering C/O's through Chris@fifteen52... along with those sweet new LTW Formulas. [drool]
SPECS:
fifteen52 Formula Classic 2pc Forged
18x9.5 ET32
Hankook Evo 2's
245/35/18
Plan to lower about 1.2"-1.5" max (I'm over scraping doods)

245 sounds a bit wide for those offsets so I'm curious

Except the fact that they can tuck into the fenders, which would tend to mean its not as flush or almost poking like a +35 would be... they look like +40 or 45
I'm curious to see more of a dished wheel like an LM replica.
And also would be interesting to know how much lower H&R sports are depending upon if the vehicle is equipped with the Mag-ride

Question:
I just won a set of Vorsteiners from a raffle. Im pretty sure Ive settled on the VFF103 in black. Vorsteiner has a 19x9.5 et 37 aggressive option available. Would i be ok with that? Im guessing 255 width tires would be the best way to go? Im not interested in stretch or anything like that, just want em square and the most contact patch for spirited drives. Standard fitment is 19x8.5 +45. Im on mag ride with H&R sport springs.
Sorry if this has been answered, ive gone through this thread a few times but dont remember the fitments that work off the top of my head and im just so stoked right now.

Wow, congrats on the win! Not a bad prize at all
19x9.5 +37 works on the A3/S3, recommended 245/35/19 with a mild stretch
235 will also work on the setup

Did you run the same 235/30/20 tire on these? You have a great knack for picking great looking oem rims for our cars!
Finally making the plunge in a few weeks to get 20x9 235/30/20 in gunmetal. Just need to decide on the offset, +32 or +38 with some extra lowering of the Bilsteins.

Can anyone tell me if 265/30/19 PSS tire can fit in our S3???
I ordered Renn motorsport RS-51 wheels. 19x9.5 ET42
I really want to put 265/30/19 PSS tire because this size is much lower price ($218) compare to 255/30 ($255) or 245/30 ($250)
Besides, I have TWO left over brand new PSS cup1 tires from last year when I had TTRS that I would like to make use of them.
My white S3 is arriving April so i can't test them now.

I think you'll have a good chance of fitting that. Never tested it before but it should have just enough clearance
Do a 255/30/19 if you want to be safe, but if you're willing to adjust the camber or roll a fender in a worst case scenario you should be able to do the 265s
But post pics if you try it out!

I think you'll have a good chance of fitting that. Never tested it before but it should have just enough clearance
Do a 255/30/19 if you want to be safe, but if you're willing to adjust the camber or roll a fender in a worst case scenario you should be able to do the 265s
But post pics if you try it out!
Interested in this myself a 265/30 is about the same height as stock. A 255/30 is smaller in height than stock. Believe it or not the 245/35 is taller than stock. I have some forgestar f14 19x9 et40 in my garage I may try the 265/30 pss. Might not get to it for a couple months.

I encourage everyone to head on over to www.willtheyfit.com
This will give you a pretty good idea in the change of specs directly compared to your initial setup. You can plug in any possible numbers here to see a difference in size. You'll also get your MPH correction! Obviously its not perfect, but I've used it for all my setups and everyone always tells me I'll scrape/rub. Still no issues to date [wrench]
Here's a link to stock 18" wheels/tires & new setup -CLICK ME- (http://www.willtheyfit.com/index.php?width=225&aspect=40&diameter=18&wheelwidth=8&offset=46&width2=265&aspect2=30&diameter2=19&wheelwidth2=9&offset2=40#content)
If the specs are incorrect for YOUR stock wheels, you can update them and click 'calculate'

From this (HERE) (http://www.willtheyfit.com/index.php?width=225&aspect=40&diameter=18&wheelwidth=8&offset=48&width2=245&aspect2=35&diameter2=19&wheelwidth2=8.5&offset2=35#content), you can see that you will poke about 20MM further out, your wheel will get about 7mm further away from your suspension. Take note of your ride height change(ground clearance) and MPH adjustment.
All you need is a ruler at this point.. do you have ~25mm of clearance from your current tire/wheel to your fender? I would think you'll have more than enough room on that setup.

Subtract the spacers from the calculation. These are the measurements you want:
Front: 19.4mm - 10mm spacer = 9.4mm additional poke compared to your current wheel/spacer
Rear: 19.4mm - 15mm spacer = 4.4mm additional poke compared to your current wheel/spacer

I know everyone is saying 19x9.5 et45 with 245 tires will fit fine, but I did a quick test by sticking the wheel wrench that is 1" wide between the suspension and my inner barrels. It's a tight fit. See pics.

I'm about to order some wheels. Can someone running this setup actually confirm? Or if you have 19x9.5 et40, can you reach inside the inner barrel and see if you can still fit your finger between the suspension and wheel?

Your current setup is 19x8.5 et 35 no? So a 19x9.5 et 45 would sit inside an additional 22.7mm so not quite an inch. Seems like it will be close as an inch is 25.4 mm. Did the wrench fit, if it did fit, but touched both the wheel and strut you may actually be ok.

Will the wheel camber towards the strut under compression? Just curious if we'll have to account for that. I'm looking to go 18x10 with 255's (I dunno, I like meaty)
I'll try to grab a measurement to see how much room there is from et32

I'm wondering if this combo is even worth putting together to test fit. 20x9 +37 and a 265/30/20. I'm pretty sure it's too much tire for the offset. I'm thinking the rear might be ok, more concerned about the fronts. I expect I'll need to source a set of 235/30s if I want to run the wheels.

What offset will I need on a 19x9 wheel to make a 255/35 tire work on this chassis? Will either +40 or +45 offset work? I'm on mag-ride and will keep it at stock height or do a small drop on springs (Emmanuele maybe?). Thanks in advance.

40 with a 255 should be perfect. If you go lower than ED springs, I can't be sure though.
I'm on ED springs for reference* - Here's my setup compared to yours CLICK ME (http://www.willtheyfit.com/index.php?width=245&aspect=35&diameter=18&wheelwidth=9.5&offset=32&width2=255&aspect2=35&diameter2=19&wheelwidth2=9&offset2=40#content). I don't rub at all in any kind of load situation, so you should be just fine. 45 would probably be inset too far for my liking.

Wow, that is a beautiful configuration!!! I've been looking at a couple of similar wheel models from Vossen and Niche but the ones on this photo look huge and extremely concave! Is this really "only" 19? 9.5 ET40? Which Alzor wheel model is this? I'm asking because I've checked the Alzor Wheels website (http://www.alzorwheels.com/wheels/audi-vw/) and couldn't come across a wheel model that looks similar to the ones of the photo. Thanks!

the offset seems really high. if you can get it down to +47 to + 49 then it looks like it may work.
if you really like the rims, take it to a rim repair place and have them shave as much as possible off on the rim's hub matting portion. that way it will bring the rim in some. depending on the rim, you might get lucky and be able to shave off 8mm or more. I know if you are wiling to have the lug holes filled and redrilled after they shave off the hub section, you should be able to get about a good 10mm off.

I think it will be easier to just sell off the 265s and pick up a set of 235s. I like the original 19" wheels on my car but since Audi made them standard for the 16 S line everyone has them now. The new wheel set up should set my car apart from the crowd.

We did some measurements and calculations, if you go with custom offsets from AG, we can fit 19x9.5 +45 with a 245/35, and possibly even a 255/30!
If anyone is running a 19x9.5 +45 with a 245 please post some photos, I'd be curious to see how much room there is from the strut.

While not entirely on topic, has anyone run a wider tire on the stock 19x8 with spacers and stock ride height? I'm running 10mm front/17.5mm rear spacers, and it seems like a 245/35-19 should fit easily (a 255 might look too square on an 8" wheel).

I only backed it out of the driveway and pulled back in. The whole side wall is outside of the fender, the shape of the shoulder clears but any compression and it hits the fender. I'm sure I could make it work, but it's my daily and I don't really want to go crazy to make it fit. I was thinking 235/30 but load rating sucks at 88. I'm thinking a 245/30 will be a better compromise.

They only offer 19x10 +36 or +55, neither would work fit very well, pretty aggressive,
You may be able to run the +55 with a 10mm spacer and a 255 stretched

Thanks Jason - appreciated! The AG M621 does indeed look pretty cool too... What I liked about the Vossen was that the lip is totally flat from the outer to the inner edge (the AG has some kind of a stepping edge that makes the wheel's diameter appear smaller). Still, I'm really looking forward to discover the polished copper set you have in the works! [:d]

While those Vorsteiners are nice wheels, I don't think they are what I would call "aggressive".

Thanks!
I think it is an Alzor 084?

Is "aggressive" determined by the look of the wheel? Or the diameter + offset + tire + drop or.....? There are quite a few wheels in this thread that are boring or played out.
DarkSideGTI
03-28-2016, 04:44 PM
The fitment is what I would consider "Aggressive" and what I think this thread is aiming towards. So 9.5" wheels, or setups that are low and flush as well could be considered "Aggressive". But 8.5's on stock suspension are what I don't consider aggressive. I do like those wheels though and almost ordered them for my car. My S3 isn't very aggressive, but my R32 is and on certain cars I like that look.

Well just installed mine yesterday and every fender rubs, front back rear side to side you name it. Iam lowered on NGP (KW V1). but I am barely dropped. I went back and hired the the front 5-turns and the rear is maxed out.
I am making some spacers for the rear perch adjusters and KW does have some various saggy but spacers that I am looking into but damn this sucks!

I am also making a rear spring perch riser right now for saggy butt. I didn't like the rear sag anyway with the NGP/KW V1's I will maybe try rolling a tad, I have the roller at home.

[QUOTE=ndk83;10346007]I posted this on AudiSport but i thought i should do it here as well.
Id like to use this thread to start documenting different setups and finding out which setup works best.
Some people like slammed and tucked, while others care more about drivability and maintaing almost close to stock setups. My predicament is that I lean more towards the stance , i want a lil poke,, but i, more of a coilover/handling guy and still need the ability to tear up the mountain roads aggressively. On my previous car i ran an aggressive setup with wide wheels, and although it looked good, it killed the drive. This time around id like to find that happy medium between stance and driveability
This thread isnt about personal preference, and i hope it doesn't get derailed because of that and/or Mono.Pur . The outcome of this thread is to document different setups and find out
the most aggressive setup you can run without any fender mods,
which setups required fender rolling,
and what setups work for slammed/stanced look.
it also seems like the sedan s3 can run a more aggressive setup than the hatch
Issues with rear wheels hitting struts on wider wheels. (has anyone succesfuly run a 10.5?)
Oil pan issues on lowered cars similar to the 8P guys.
If your interested in posting your setups, please provide wheels specs tire sizes, suspensions mods, fender mods etc.
So far, Rabbit222's car is running the most aggressive setup (that ive come a cross) on this site.
His specs:
20x8.5+40 plus a 10mm spacer
235/3520 tire size.

I am assuming the above has no suspension mods (stock).
My setup rubs period I am lowered 25.5" floor to fender. I can hire it, but again defeating the purpose that I am looking for. Iwas told this setup would be no problem by forum members, quess what they were wrong.
I am debating the following:
Trying a 235/35/19 tire
Taking it to my friend to roll fenders only slightly, again not something I want to do, nor do I want to pay another $120 for mounting and balance. But dont want to fuck up fenders now because I am impatient. So I am trying to figure this all out. Now I have not doen anything with the alignment yet at all.
I can not find a single person that has rolled or pulled fenders. This is my issue, I have done numerous subaru rolls, but never an audi. Now technically its the same type of procedure however, we have that weird indent.
at a loss right now!

Maybe I need to clarify the rubbing, with one person in the car going over speed bumps rear rub (now not going fast). When going over RR tracking or small bumps, nothing.
I am getting mostly liner rub, but if you look up on the inside of the fender I do see a little black line, meaning it is rubbing there too. IT is not smashing inot the fender, but enough to mar the outside of the tire.
With two people in the car again speed bumps are an issue and fast dips are an issue rubs front and rear. I have not tried anyone on back as I know no matter what it will rub. Nothing in regular driving turns or backing up but I am sure I will get rub is moving fast in turns with dips or aggressive turns.
This is my daily so none of this is acceptable. I just bought a set of Nexen Nfera Su1 in 235/35/19, I don't know if they run narrow, true or wide. A downgrade form the Pirellis, but I am not spending another $900+ on tires. From what I read the nexen is a pretty damn good tire for the money, we will see what type of rub I get etc. They come in on Thursday so I will update all this weekend.

Would the AG M621s work on the Audi Q3 in 20 x 10?
I really like the deep concave look but have no clue what would work on the Q3 fitment wise.
They only offer 19x10 +36 or +55, neither would work fit very well, pretty aggressive,
You may be able to run the +55 with a 10mm spacer and a 255 stretched
But if you like the style you may want to look at the flow formed AG M621s that come in Deep Concave 19x9.5 +40 to 45 for a perfect fit

Would the AG M621s work on the Audi Q3 in 20 x 10?
I really like the deep concave look but have no clue what would work on the Q3 fitment wise.
I have not done a setup on the Q3 yet, but it should be the same chassis as a Tiguan, I'd assume it will need to run 20x8.5 or 20x9 all around
10"s on the Tiguan I believe is possible but it'd need some some stretch to fit it.
Not 100% though, not until I get one here to actually measure.

I will know next wee as I will be installing Bridgestone RE11's in that size on the stock 19's wheels, no drop, no spacers I hope it fits!
So how did it go?

Just a teaser. I can't take pics for my life. I think the guys from GetYourWheels will be posting some shortly though.
Specs:
19x9.5 et37 AG M621's in Polished Copper
Michelin PSS - 245/35(more like 255 with how Michelin sizes.)
Right now there is no rubbing other than when it's loaded. I had all 4 wheels and tires in the rear seat/trunk, the driver side rear showed light contact on the sidewall. I didn't hear or feel anything. The other 3 have no marks, so I think the alignment should take care of this.
I'm on updated ED springs, no rear pad yet.

Looking clean!! Is this a Q3? Those M621s have me almost sold! I'm considering these or the Stance SC-8s

This is the A3/S3/RS3 section, so no. There is a Q3 section though.

I cant believe your don't rub, but I think I was a little lower and had et35 even though that does not seem like a lot, the Pirellis I had are also super square.

his setup sticks out .42" more than yours, Odd you had so many rubbing issues

whats even more strange his tires and yours are the same section width, but his tread width is 8.8" while yours was 7.2". Maybe yours was lower.

Reason Kookie's is not rubbing is because his 245/35/19 is being stretched on the 9.5s which give some more clearance.
A 245/35/19 fits completely square on the 8.5, which is why you were rubbing.
The setup came out amazing in the Polished Copper! Should have some nice pics to share soon when they get edited [up]

Not looking for an aggressive set up as I already have one, but I am curious about a track set up. I'm looking at a set of O.Z. Ultraleggeras in 18x8 and was curious what offset I should get? They're offered in a 35mm or 45mm offset for our cars. Tire size recommendations would also be welcome. I'm thinking a 225/40/18 is probably best but interested in hearing what others think.
Thanks everyone. :-)

Just an opinion, and have noticed you put up awesome track photos. But wouldn't a lower offset create more understeer? I would go with the 45 offset, unless you're more concerned about a flush look(which you're more than well aware of).
Love the car man!

Those wheels would look better on my Beluga than your White 8V. http://www.audi-sport.net/xf/styles/default/xenforo/clear.png
