I ended up doing 225/35/20, I have the wheels on and the fitment is pretty flush, however the car looks like a monster truck at the moment. Once i get coilovers installed friday, I'll post some photos.
does anyone know if there are any tires with theses specs?
245/30r19?

Sent from my SM-G930V using Audizine mobile app (http://r.tapatalk.com/byo?rid=87676)
Yes, wheel fitment is a little different between hatch and sedan. On the sedan, rear is more inset than front, ...
do you happen to know how many mm inset the rear is compared to the front, stock measurements of course?

Which of following spec gives more flush look without rub the fender.
19 x 8.5 ET47
19 x 9 ET 35
Car is not lower, which is a better setup?

Neither is flush. 8.5 +47 sits inboard and 9 +35 pokes. If you have to choose I’d go with 8.5 +47 because Going aggressive and not lowering doesn’t look right imo.

I don't sorry. we don't get the hatch here. use a straight edge & tape measure on your rear wheel to see what room you have, then use one of the online wheel/tire fitment calculators to see what will fit. I've currently got 18x8.5 with 255/40 all around which fit fine on my sedan, lowered with front camber plates. I have a set of 18x9 ET30 that are going on next, probably with 265/35 up front and 235/40 in the back.

On a sedan I would guess it's somewhere between 5 and 10mm safely....it seems when people run spacers the rears end up about that much wider to sit nearly as flush as the fronts. Hatch should be fairly comparable I would think. When I was thinking of running spacers and measured I figured I would run 12.5 in front and 17.5mm in the rear....but I ended up just ordering new wheels instead.

How tucked in will 8.5 ET 47 be?
HRE flowform is having the sale and they only offer these 2 offsets

I’d say 8-10mm inside of flush.
The 19x9 +35 isn’t an official S3 fitment like the 19x8.5 +47. It’s recommended for MLBs like S4 or A6. It will certainly work on the S3 but it all depends on the look you want. They also have 19x9.5 +45.

I got my wheels on the car!
9J 235/30/20 ET32
10J 245/30/20 ET 45 + 5 mm spacers = ET 40 .
Its rubbing but the car is very low.
Im looking for stiffer springs in de back for my KW coils
And do a little bit camber in the front. of smaller tyres.
Last solution is roll the fenders.

I have gone through this whole thread with no answer so hopefully someone can help.
Ordered some 19x9 ET40 wheels and Eibach Sportline springs (mild drop of 15mm approx all round) for my 2018 S3 Sedan with Mag ride.
Will 255/35/19 Michelin PS4S fit without rubbing? It seems like 245/35/19 will work, but would love to run 255/35/19.
Thanks.

There's a post on page 18 with 19x9 et 40 and 255/35 lowerd on EMD springs. Diameter is bigger than oem , more meaty. I think Michellin P4S in 255/30 is a more safer option for that setup.

255/35 is about 13mm talller than 255/30 so larger diameter. It may need some massaging to fit properly with 9” +40.

What sort of massaging? Of the guard? I would prefer a 245/35 over a 255/30. I like more meat and not a fan of low profile.

Depends on how low you are. Front fender liner at least. My RS3 with 245/35 19x9 +40 rubbed the fender liner. I had to modify it a little but no big deal. 255/35 would have been seriously rubbing tho.

Really? That's odd. with 18x8.5 ET35 and 255's I've got miles of room. I'm thinking I could fit 275 18x9 ET30 with a bit of camber (I'm running 034 camber plates up front)

Definitely think that is odd. I have seen people running 19x9.5 ET38 with 245/35 on ED springs with no rubbing.
I am putting Eibach springs which are the same drop as ED springs.
I am 100% certain that 19x9 ET40 with 245/35 will work without rubbing, but not sure if 255 will work.
There is a guy who ran 19x9 ET40 with 255/35 Michelins on ED springs but he didn't say if he had any rubbing or not.

How much camber are you running now? and how low are you?
255/40/18 is the same diameter and width as 255/35/19 so if it works on your it will work on mine. The wheels width and offset combo puts me 1.5mm more poke than you, which is nothing considering my tyres will be more square and less rounded than yours.

245 on 19x9.5 will give you some stretch so you’d have more room.
I grazed the front fender liner in spots during turns. It was mainly due to the PS4S being wide and that square shoulder catching. Barely any But it was enough to bug me so I adjusted. It certainly works though.

034 springs, 034 camber plates. its a couple degrees negative camber and lots of room both sides. There is never rubbing under any conditions. I removed the spare and tools, but don't think that would change anything from a bump perspective. I'm actually running less than stock camber in the back (for better handling balance), and tires and wheels are square up.
I spent a bunch of time with wheel/tire calculators tonight, and I already bought wheels in 18x9 ET30, and I'll run 265/35 up front, and 245/40 in the back. This is slightly smaller diameter than stock, and slightly bigger around in the back than the front (like RS3 staggered setup). This should be about ideal (given size choices available) for the gearing and F/R balance I'm shooting for.

I really love how concave they are. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20181227/8b69e46a1f8703e1144de961be552427.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20181227/bd0b50a2329061d66f1aebc6d57e05e0.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20181227/dd8b9cb0643757e2a9b49fcd638cd520.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20181227/75de7b6ca0ffa275e3aaa611337dc4bf.jpg

Hello all,
Looking to see if anyone has fit a 19x8.5 ET +47 wheel with a 255/35/19 tire on their S3. Yes, a 35 ratio on a 255; I want the extra sidewall versus a 30.
I ask because I'm looking at purchasing this wheelttire package used; it was previously on a TTS.
Its looking like I'll need something like a 5mm spacer up front and 10 in the rear. Maybe a 8mm up front if 5mm isn't enough.
What I'm looking for is if someone has done this and if so, could you post a picture or note/ link where I could go see myself.
I've gone on here: https://www.wheel-size.com/calc/ and plugged in the upgraded 19 inch factory wheels from Audi at 235/35/19 with a 19x8 wheels and +49 offset. With no spacers it says that the tire will stick out 12mm farther and be 8mm closer to suspension components and that that is acceptable for most cars. The wheel itself will stick out 8mm farther and 4mm closer to suspension; the tires are the issue here so no worries with the wheels.
I'm stock ride height and will stay that way as this is my DD and I have a front lip that already scrapes on steep inclines/ declines. So rubbing on the outside of the fenders shouldn't be an issue if I need to put a small spacer to avoid touching on the inside on but at the same time I dont want the tire sticking out like crazy (I dont think it will, this isn't very aggressive at all).

I've got essentially the same - 255/40-18.. Fits with plenty o'-room inside and out and I've got a 35mm offset and will be putting on 265 up front next time around. On my 19's I ran 15mm spacers up front and 20mm in the back and they didn't poke at all (I don't like poke whatsoever)

Do you have any pictures by any chance?
So on the 255/40/18 with a 35mm offset, you're not running any spacers up front or out back?
I'm a bit tripped up when you started talking about your 19s... what size was the tires, what width was the wheel, what offset was the wheel? Because you say 15mm up front and 20mm in the rear for spacers on that setup. Any pictures of that?
Thanks again for your help.

Can someone let me know if this setup would work..
Looking at BBS CC-R 20x9. On tire rack, the default offset is 25mm and doing the wheel/tire package means my tire option would be 245/30ZR20 (90Y).
I could do the 20x8.5 with the 42mm offset with a 245/30ZR20 (90Y).
I have the FL S3 (2017) with no modifications and would like to do one of the two options without having to modify. Or if anyone has other suggestions, let me know!
Thanks in advance!

Got my new wheels and tires on. Went with the RS3 stagger of 255/235 on 18x9 et30 using the widest tread I could find in that size (Generals). I've got 034 springs and front camber plates. I actually have slightly less than stock rear camber. There's a touch of poke and stretch in the back, but couldn't get the wheels in a staggered width. No rubs or bump issues. Could take 265 or 275 up front with no issue I think.

I am running those same rims with 245/35/19s. I think there is room for the 255mm tire and others have run a 255 on this platform.

Dude it looks so sick can't wait to get them. Are lowered? How close are the tires to the fenders? I think the back for sure fits, front might rub?
245 looks amazing but would really like 255 for more meat, stock pirellis barely have any sidewall.

I am lowered on EMD springs. In that photo the rear has 5mm spacers and the front has none. I have since added 5mm spacers without issues.

Btw Im new to suspension so I’m unsure of the order of operations of these things haha

Suspension is always a good start, depending on your budget there are options to fit you needs. If you are looking for an entry level setup I would recommend either ST Coilover's (https://xlr8performance.com/i-35526-st-coilover-kit.html?ref=category:102) or KW V1 Coilover's (https://xlr8performance.com/i-30290-kw-automotive-kw-coilover-kit-v1-2015-audi-s3-quattro-8v-with-irs.html?ref=category:102).
Feel free to send me PM with any questions and I would be happy to help.

A question to folks with 245/35/19 tyres. Does your speedometre show the real speed? I'm on a 225/40/18 wheels and my speedometre shows 2 km/t more than GPS does and this difference increases with speed (3-4 km/t at 90-100 km/t). Does your speedometer show the same speed as the GPS?

mine shows incorrectly even with my stock car. dealership says if its within +/- 3% of actual they wont do anything. the mistake is never on our side [:|], it never shows under but will show over. so as you add miles your going to show more than its actually driven. oh well.

Yeah, I know the reason to why they do it. They don't want to be sued for every speeding ticket. My question was if you increased the wheel circumference with bigger wheels, for instance 245/35/19 instead of 235/35/19 or 225/40/18, the speedo would show a speed closer to the real one. Does yours?

i see. sorry i cant be more help with the actual wheel question you have. havent experienced this yet.
i did once find the option in vcds to calibrate the speedo when the mnfg changes the wheel circumference. just cant change it. probably need the right security code or procedure. at times certain changes require some constraint to be met before changing an option. you can definitely find the option in there for wheel circum, they didnt hide it. as it makes sense when there are a few different options for wheels from the audi.

That's odd- doesn't look flush, looks like the rims stick out an inch from the bodywork (not the tire). I'm running 18x9 ET30 with 255 and don't have that kind of poke. Didn't think my camber plates made that much difference. BTW, 255/40 is a taller tire than stock - was that on purpose? (I ran that same size before the current set as they were takeoffs from my bug)

Wheel is flush but tire sticks out about ⅛". I will have alignment done on Friday and the 10mm spacers are coming on Friday as well. I will take a picture of the car from behind to show the wheel flush soon and post it here.
As for tire size, I really wanted 255/35 but the 255/40 were half price on clearance and I couldn't pass on that. Next tire change I am definitely going either 255/35 or 245/40 do not to rub at all.

thanks for the pics. im still doing a lot more researching for now.
et25 was not my first choice as i would prefer to do et35 on a 9inch width which is about 0.40 inches movement. its not a huge difference but any amount will still help bring it back under the fender and be more compliant with daily driving.
the wheel im looking into only has et49 or et25 (has a deeper look) for that deep concavity appearance. there are some tricks i know of that will bring that back into alignment but it can only go so far.

It won’t fit! I am running -3° up front and -1° out back for track purposes. Et25 will Be way out of the fender. Unless you wanna look like those honda boys with massive camber.

Hi!! I bought a new set of wheels for my 2016 A3 and wonders if a 19x8.5 et35 running on 245/35/19 tires set up would be safe with no rubbing; wants to be sure it’s good to go before I bring it in for powder coating. I don’t really want to roll or do any modifications. Just looking for that clean fitment with a little poke from the fenders. Also planning to lower the car as well. I have a few options but don’t know if I should go coilovers (if so what coilovers would you recommend for a reasonable price) or lowering springs (EMD, H&R, or Eibach). And would I rub if I lower the car?

BBS CH-Rs @ 19x8.5+40
&
TSW Nurburgrings @ 19x8.5+32
Being that I'd like to run a 245 tire I want to make the safe play with the BBSs but I like the design and light weight of the TSWs; on the other hand I definitely see subtle lowering in my future so I'm thinking play it safe with the +40s and maybe throw some spacers in if I want them more aggressive...

Does anyone know which spacers to run on the rear? I’m going 19x8.5 et35 with 245/35/19 tires and the front pokes out more than rear but I want that even flush look to match the front.

ECS OEM wheel flush kit for S3's has a 10mm spacer for the front and a 17.5mm for the back so based on this I would say a 7.5mm spacer should do the trick if you are running a square setup all the way around.

Been checking several pages before and still not 100% clear on how flush this fitment would be. This whole offset thing is almost like algebra. Im lowered on normal H&Rs with mag ride. Trying to run flush with 245 and 255s in the back.

Rear would be flush. Front would sit 10mm more inboard compared to the front. Not a good match imo.
You’d be better off doing 9.5 +48 square

You’d be better off doing 9.5 +48 squareI already have 10mm spacer if that's all it needs to be flush. So with the set up you're talking about would I be able to get away with 255 all around? Plus I thought the front needs less offset then rear.

You could use a spacer up front I suppose but The 19x9.5 +48 square would give you a close to flush stance without one. 255/30 would work. Fronts can go a little lower on the offset to fill the fender better...maybe 3mm. But that’s definitely not what you had with 19x8.5 +45 on 245 front with 19x9.5 +48 on 255 rear. Besides, staggering the widths on Audi’s like that doesn’t help performance. They tend to be nose heavy as it is and doing it like that will only increase understeer.
Your best bet is to go square in wheel and tire width.
Side note, double check inner clearance to the strut in the rear. 9.5 at +48 could be an issue.
You may need to come down to +45 to clear it.

Sure they can :) Just lower your car and add spacers, so everything is flush or a little poking ;) I guess "aggressive wheels" means the wheels are as close to the fender a possible, with just a little gap enough to avoid rubbing.
Your ride looks great, btw.

I went with 3SDM Style .01 19x9.5 Et40 with red center caps. I'm really happy with how it turned out. I had almost brand new 235 tires on the car so I've kept them but I'll step up to 245 when they are done... 0 rubbing but on stock height.

Depends on your definition of aggressive. A lot of people put expensive clown wheels on their car and consider it aggressive. Most of the time their cool new aggressive wheels actually weigh more and perform worse than oem- is that aggressive?
Do what you like. But in my opinion “aggressive” has a very different meaning in this thread.

In this context, "aggressive" simply means "will it fit" not "will it perform better". If everybody wanted performance, we'd all be running 17" wheels on slicks.

Very nice! Is that stock suspension or are you lowered? Also, can you provide the offsets for the wheels as I was looking to go 20's and like this setup. BTW, may I suggest wrapping the wing black, plastidipping the emblems black (or changing them out with black) and either taking off the chrome tip covers and having them powder coated black or changing the tips to black (this is what I just did on mine). That would compliment the black optics package even more and IMO make your car even more attractive than it is already.

Just curious...If you're going to "upgrade" your wheel setup, why not get some added performance benefit out of them as well? Why would you want to stick with the narrow 8" wide wheel and narrow 225 tires? Why not go with 8.5" or 9.0" wide wheels and stick some 255/35 tires on them?

Hi XMetal, It is a very good idea too. it could be oz ultraleggera or superturismo lm in19x8.5" et38 , but they are heavier..
I just want to know if I could have any problem with the et35 offset with 18x8.
I have 8J ET40 on the front of my sportback and they are flush with the fender. The 8J ET35 would poke by 5mm on the front. It's gonna be fine on the back though.

I follow you on Instagram too :)
My car is on Eibach Pro springs. As to the tyres, they are 235/35/19. But you are interested in width of the rim which is the same 8J as yours. The pics on Instagram are the best of what I have and only the last few have the spacers on the front and the wheels are turned a little for the better effect, so they don't show what you are interested to see. I'll try to take a couple of pictures tomorrow.

Here you go!
Tyres: 235/35/19 Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric 5.
Rims: S3 reps 19x8 ET45 with 5 mm spacers on the front (makes it ET40) and 8 mm spacers on the rear (makes it ET37).

Search this thread, and take a note of the offsets. I run 18x9.5 et38. I have a slight bit of poke with a 38mm offset and 265/35 tires, so I wouldn’t go any lower. Check out my

hey all,
picked up my '18 rs3 a few weeks ago. looking at a set of wheels, very aggressive fitment: 19x10.5 et22 square. gonna be lowered on h&r vtf springs so i'll have the adjust-ability. not sure on tire size, i know i'll have room if i run a 30 series aspect ratio, trying to figure out tread width (235, 245, or 255). I already know i'll have to roll the fenders, and do the other fender tricks.
thoughts?

Got the wheels installed today, had to trim the rear shock dust cover, adjusted to max camber on the rear. Minor roll/screw tab removal on the front. No rubbing so far... may remove front liner and roll a bit more.

This is my Bagged '17 S3. I installed Airlift Performance 3P system about 3 weeks ago and recently just got my TE37s! Took 5 1/2 months to get here, but worth the wait!
Wheel Set Up:
18x9 +50 Offset 66.6 Center Bore
• 57.1 to 66.6 Wheel center hub adaptors (Amazon)
Falken Azenis FK453 255/35/18
I have a 3mm Spacer in the fronts, otherwise the wheel was so close to the strut that the 255 tire was rubbing. This added enough space to clear the strut.
Suspension Set Up:
Airlift Standard Ride Height (Just me, decent roads) [Primary]
45psi / 45psi (Front Left / Right)
70psi / 70psi (Rear Left / Right)
Airlift Raised Height (Loaded Car/Passengers, Highways/Crappy Roads)
55 / 55
76 / 76
Lowered Ride Height (Just me, Buttery Smooth/Fresh Roads)
38 / 38
55 / 55
FIRST PIC: Raised to Standard Ride Height
LAST 3 PICS: Airred Out to 0psi All around

Will most likely rub. The common tire size w/ 9.5s is 245/35/19. Some have been able to get a 255 on there, but was typically with a narrower tire.

Yea, seems like it’s 255/30 19s, or the 245/35s which is kinda stretched vs not much side wall of the 255/30s.... been all over these threads where people ask about it, but nobody actually was the Guinea pig! Lol

I know of someone running 255/35/19 on 19x9 Nuespeeds. But he is also running some camber up front to clear the fenders. There is a user that runs 265/30/19 on 19x9.5 et 45 or 43. The 265 clears under the RS3 front fenders. The rear he had to have a bit of camber to clear. I'm not sure why the black car above w/ the Forgelines pokes so much, its only 5mm more outward than a 9.5 et45. I can only assume the camber has been reduced.

265/30s on the A3? Or Rs3? I kind of assumed that if rs3s can do it s3 and a3s could as well...I guess it also depends if the tire brand runs narrow or not. Thanks for your replies

265/30/19 on an RS3. The RS3 front fenders are in fact wider than the A/S3 front fenders. Only the rear is the same. The user that was on the 265/30/19 was using a typically wider Michelin PS4S. The back can likely fit the 265 if you want to run a bit more than stock camber. In front you'll likely need camber plates. The plus side to the 265/30 is that it is actually shorter than the factory 235/35/19, so you'll get a touch more clearance.

ALTI GT1 19x9.5 +45 Brushed Double Dark Tint in Michelin PS4S 265/30 lowered full down on KW HAS at stock camber. Fronts could come out another 2-3mm if needed and be fine. Only adjustments needed were to front liner with some minor heat and massage. Other than that it clears fine:

Thank you!
You can run 9.5 +45 on the A3 but as it usually does, it will come down to tire brand and size.
The front track is 20mm wider on an RS3 compared to an A3 and it’s front fenders are flared more as well. I don’t have any measurements on how much more though. Rear track is 14mm wider on RS3.
That said, PS4S in 265/30 on a lowered 9.5 +45 set up in front is not aggressive on an RS3 but still scrubbed the fender liner pretty good which needed some massaging to clear. The rears are very close On both sides at stock camber; a hair more positive It would rub the fender arch and a hair more negative the gas fill tube or shock.
So on an A3 I’m thinking you’re gonna need 245/35 on 9.5 +45 under those H&R sports To clear.

One final question then... 255/30 19s vs 245/35 19s. I know most here are running the 245/35s, but something about that slight stretch has me thinking 255/30s for no stretch, but I also see these are very low profile. Can you help me decide?? Lol thank you again for your expertise! Leaning 255/30 I think

Any chance I can run either 19x8.5 +35mm (245/35) or 18x8.5 +35mm (245/40) without rubbing/poking out? I'm on stock suspension right now but will possibly lower it in the future.
