Like many other 5 owners, I'm utterly obsessed with my car and love every mile and mod. After nine months it's about time I finally start a build and photography thread. Without further ado, jA5mine, my 2013 Brilliant Black Premium Plus A5.

THE PROGRESSION

Took delivery October 25 at Audi MV after sitting in 4.5hrs of traffic after work—and totally worth it. Tinted 25% all around a week later.



Added HOEN fogs.



One month after delivery: Alpine Type R 6.5 components and Pioneer shallow 10" installed and powered by an Alpine MRX-F65 amp (also mini portable Android speaker just for kicks haha).



First time working with the Klasse Twins: KAIO followed by a coat of KSG...love this stuff!



Plate inspired by one of my favorite songs, "On a Good Day", by Above & Beyond



CF wrapped a few pieces



Added 17.5mm ECS Tuning spacers all around, then went to Eurocode to have my H&R coils installed

Proof positive that "less is best." I've been debating getting 19" wheels (I have the same wheels as you) and these pictures have convinced me to just lower the suspension.

Wrapping the fogs in carbon came out nice. Funny, I was listening to that song driving the home stretch. My license plate would be ONTHBCH which would be my favorite Above and Beyond tune :)

I was a little worried the wrap might come off tacky, but I was surprised with how well it came out too. And also a great song! Someone thought my plate was "On a G(angsta) Day" though

It's in a shallow-mount enclosure sitting flush against my rear seatback and secured with an adjustable strap. For a shallow 10", it definitely pulls its own weight and the strap keeps it about as snug as it gets—zero movement even with aggressive driving. You can see the setup in the photos below...

Nice car :) What's your ride height from the ground to your fender? I was thinking of doing H&R Coilovers as well. Glad to see we have another A&B fan out there ;) Group Therapy.

I went to TATW 350 at the Hollywood Palladium a few years back and the show absolutely blew my mind. I've seen them 4 or 5 times now :)

I'm exactly 26" GTF (0.25" gap between tire and fender). Could use a little more low, but I need the everyday driveability in LA.

Stopped by Eurocode again yesterday to get my APR Stage 1 tune. Until yesterday I wasn't even sure APR had a tune for the B8.5 2.0 (haven't seen any posts about the facelifts with tunes aside from the S5s), but Greg confirmed APR does, in fact, have one now.

Got it fully loaded with the stock, 91oct, 100oct, and valet programs along with fault code erase, throttle body alignment, and anti-theft/security lockout programs. Also had some VAG-COM mods done: no wink turn signals, video in motion, keyfob windows up/down, and LED brightness. Now on to the good stuff...

The tune, as many others have already attested to, is a night-and-day difference. I won't get too much into the details since I'll only be reiterating what others have said, but I will say that it's even more fun and pleasurable to drive with the extra grunt down low and pull up top. While the power delivery is still smooth, the car definitely feels sportier with a more aggressive surge of power. Money well-spent!

Thanks to Greg and Chris at Eurocode for taking care of me just as well as when I had my H&R coilovers installed a few weeks back. Much appreciated guys!

Does the APR tune void the engine warranty?

Yes, any aftermarket modifications you make will void your warranty (if the dealer can prove that's what caused the failure/problem).

But it also depends on the dealer. The tune Audi will see once they scan your car, however any bolt on part the dealer is required to report it. But if you have a mod friendly dealer, they won't necessarily report it.

Did you replace the B&O sounds system or did you not opt for it, knowing that you were going aftermarket? How's the new sounds? Any issues?

thanks! i had planned to go aftermarket before i even placed the order for the car. The B&O is good for a factory system, but still lacked the low end and fullness I was looking for.

For only a little bit more than what the B&O would've cost, I think it sounds great—much crisper without any distortion at higher volumes. The only gripe I have is that because I had the non-B&O, the tweeter cover by the A-pillar is actually a completely solid, covered piece of plastic forcing me to put the tweeters in the dash firing up against the windshield. Aside from that, very economical in terms of cost and space!

Awesome pics and ride! I think the cf trim looks good with black. Did you or the shop do the interior trim?

If the shop did, then how much did it cost? If not then how difficult was it to DIY? I ordered carbon atlas on my S5, but if I don't like how it matches the black/brown interior, then I'm wondering how hard it would be to change.

Thanks BOS5! I wrapped the interior and fog pieces myself. Even being my first time, very easy to do with a little bit of patience and learning how the material works. A heat gun or hair dryer will help and the trim pieces are only held in by a few clips. Only cost is for the material (I used 3M 1080) which you can find on Amazon, ECS Tuning, or a number of other places.
