Shon's RS5

What's up guys. So after ordering the car on Sept 2, I finally received the car yesterday Dec 3. Before I start, let me give one small tribute to my A5. Loved this car but it was time to move up.

It was great tuning the car but I wanted more power and I knew a K04 wouldn't cut it for me. The S5's with the 3.0t were also a good alternative but then I thought going stage 2 would cost me more money and I would lose my warranty right of the bat. I also wasn't happy with any of the colors that the S5's offered and would have went Audi exclusive which again would have tacked on to the bill. It was only a matter of time that I finally decided the RS was the way I would go.

Arrival, I asked specifically for them not to unwrap it. I had the pleasure of doing that on my own.

No dealer detail, I drove the car strait to Detailing Dynamics in Mineola, NY. Dropped it off where they will do a full new car prep and it would remain for a week, then I got on fight to Ohio. I plan on breaking it in the night I return.

Awesome man! Congrats. Your A5 was the base of reference I used to lower mine & use 20/25 spacers. Who's the hunk taking off the wrap and sitting in the car?

I'm intrigued by the rear diff mount. I've never felt like the drivetrain in the RS is clunky.

Absolutely! Wish we could have done it in my A5, but it'll be even better in the RS! Can't wait for the next ESIT fest

I've read how this makes an already smooth AT even smoother from the A4 and S4 forums. Shawn from Pacific German has one on his RS also.

Loved the color even more when I saw it after unwrapping! I had to remind myself the height it was only the shipping blocks. As soon as it was unwrapped I had them remove the blocks. Seeing your Alu optic made me almost go that route, but I love the look of the Ti package to stray far from it!

New car prep usually involves sealing the paint on the body and wheels and sealing the glass also. I made sure the dealer didn't detail it because I've heard that they leave faint swirls compared to professional detailers. When I brought it to the detailer he was impressed and he commented that is was one the best looking brand new paint he's gotten in because most new cars already had the dealer prep, where as mine didn't. Even then there was still a very small amount of paint correction that needed to done, probably from the cloth wrap lightly rubbing on the paint during transport or in the wind.

Thanks! I may track it, but I got the brakes more for a YOLO/ No F's given moment. I've heard many people who regretted not getting the option after the fact. I didn't get the DA pack because I really didn't like the way the front looks with the radar, takes away from the look IMO.

sounds about right, guess when it comes from factory the paint is nice and rawr. I'm trying to figure out what to do when my RS5 comes in, So far its hands off dealer, xpel ultimate goes on, but haven't found anyone I trust to do any of the other work :(

IDK about you, but as much work as it is, it feels so good.

Mops is the man, Adams makes the products. Simply the best, you don't have to worry using any of Adams products, their all good. Mops will answer or find the answer to any questions you may have. Speaking of which I probably need to start stocking up also....

Runge, I see you're from Ottawa. I just spent a night there when I had to fly out through there, definitely surprising. A very urban and hip town, I plan to stay longer next time if I get a chance to go back.
