Since the UK invasion seems to be high with Olethalb and D2NY G thought jump above the invading ship too haha.

Anyhow, the progress and how it stands/history (warning, it's a diesel ):

So with the Air'd MK4 all stripped down and gone and the

    MK1 TT abused and sold

I was on the lookout for a V6 TDi A4 and with commuting and need for decent mpg the 3.0TDi Quattro (much to the daily banter) was ruled out leaving the 2.5 and 2.7. and finally the one I wanted came up...

    - Phantom Black
    - S-Line
    - Sunroof
    - Bose
    -2.7TDi V6

Picked it up and order some AP coils straight up. The S-line suspension is ok, but unusually 'bouncy'. The AP's ride very well, much more comfortable that OEM suspension and make driving the car more fun and planted! was a long process to fit, thanks to Olly for help on the installation- the rears are a TIGHT fit to get out and HARD as hell!...

    - 'joey modded' the lights and de-tango'd them alongside some 5point LED side lights and white fogs
    - slid in some white LED for interior lighting
    - round one of detailing too
    - Remaping it began with Bobby on here Bobby-Singh (details below) But 100% recommended!
    - DPF and Pre-Cat delete again with the magical hands of Olly to help! [Y]

Then time for bluetooth XCarlink connection device for my A4. I ran one in the TT and I like how simple and effective they are for the money and this evening while everyone was alseep from overfeeding and drinking I got to it and whipped the car apart.

    The install

First thing was to hide the microphone... I had wanted to put it in the light housing BUT the cable was too short, and I didn't want it on display so I set about a small hole in a blank to tuck it away. Sound quality is still good and clear! thin layer of silicon to stop splits. Blue tack to hold in place while glue set. I left a bit in to absorb bumps and support the mic.

Took a trip this weekend to Olly for a swearing, painful weekend of De-Cat and DPF removal...

Fist the Pre-Cat which was ok to undo, only snapping one stud, welded a new on in and new nut but cut it out and piped it, the EGT sensor was fiddly to get out and had to bend back the clip for the expansion tank. which bent back fine

Then the BEAST of a DPF... didn't take long to drop it off the car thanks to olly for giant strength, snapped two studs as they were seized up corroded. two new nuts and bolts for them. They measured up and olly got his weld on, almost artistic

Big shout to olethalb again for his help. Time to address the straw like intake system and I'll get some pipes to fabricate a new induction route. Should free up some throttle response and noise from the V6

waiting on my mapper to sort out the DPF removal, we ran two options but it still goes into limp mode, throwing up two errors... he's working on it but for now I'm 0-60 NEVER and 55-60mpg... no boost will do that, forced to cruise at 50mph BORING and annoying. sorted soon though

    - on another note, I meant to do the Clear Corner mod, so set about that and decided to run some regular 5 light LED's for brighter sidelights. Looks good, I'll get some more photos' up soon.

further to the magic work at ollys of DPF delete and pre-cat Delete I've been having the car mapped by bobby who's been fettling and tweaking it as I go through the performance stage...
1st - Basic custom map, to get a feel for the potential and asses the possibilities, pulled much better and free'd up the rev range
2nd - Custom map tweaked and assessed smoke (no smoke at all), heat and fuel + EGR delete, pulled harder and smoother
3rd - Revision after DPF delete and Pre-Cat Delete and tweaking = amazing torque in the low and mid, carrying through into the high RPM + constant and relentless pull and delivery of power. no horrid short spikes

Also - no smoke AT ALL, like some generic maps 'can' give. Chatting to Bobby he takes into account what you want and demand from the car and how you drive, tailors the map to you give him a shout! really knows his stuff.... This was good as the car isn't 'maxed' out there still more to go, but I didn't want to kill the clutch off too quickly - I get NO slip at all through the gears and it's on 67,000m with original clutch. I will be upgrading to a beefier one in the next few months out of personal choice. but very very impressed.

Off to rolling road ASAP - will through up the graph and results but they should be very good over the stock power of 177bhp and 280lb-ft.

So, went to Surrey Rolling Road this evening along with a few other cars and Bobby to see what she was pushing. Went with the hope of 230-240bhp and 400-430ftlb

    Stock: 177bhp and 280ftlb

Mods: Pre-Cat Deleted and DPF deleted + Bobby-Singh Custom Map

    Results: 265bhp and 448lbft

Huge shout to Bobby who worked on the map very hard and produced a smooth, SMOKE FREE map with very very nice figures! car drives like a whole new machine!

Yeh a custom remap and straight pipe all it was... not bad output. Damn sucks you had no options for TDi's the 3.0l TDi will do 500ftlb+ and 320bhp+ and the turbo from that engine BOLTS onto this one. so those figures are nearly reachable for mine too...

There are things in the pipe work for this, full rear box delete and DTM tips to unleash some of the V6 noise and a few other bits.

Um some alcantara, thin MDF + USB charging port. cut a hole and trim.... Then wire up the charger to cigarette lighter or as I did, use the interior lighting to activate a relay so the USB socket is only live IF the lights are on (I always drive with Side lights on)

Finally got around to sorting out the chrome fails...

    Side trims all done
Front Grill all done + (S-line badge, which makes it a little more subtle) Waiting till I get an RS4 grill though really

Thanks bud, did you not get the V6 TDi's out there... damn :-/

After seeing some full black and some half matte headlights on B7s at the E38 weekend... I finally had an idea of what I wanted to achieve with mine. Had got hold of Bi-Xenon projectors, bulbs, ballasts and all bits needed to make my Halogen lights into Bi-Xenon projectors, missed the output from the ones I had on the TT and Golf. So with clear lenses on these projectors I'm hoping for a very good light output.

    Stripped lights out
    Took lights completely apart
    Sprayed them
    Installed Projectors
Finished shots to come. and a before/after light output.

slim pack mounted against the chassis out of the way, wires tucked away too - no annoying 'aftermarket' loom hanging about

More to come tomorrow when they're in and running / night comparison shots too.

^agreed. Love the car. Envy the options offered in Europe (engines and interior). Love the passenger airbag off switch! Has anyone ever retrofitted one in to a NA spec while doing Recaros as opposed for the pressure plate?

Sick car though. Look forward to seeing more.

Lights are done, back together and leveled up which took some fine tuning to ensure both beams where straight and aligned, still need some minor side to side adjustment at night.

    Here's some finished photos

    1 - Just Bi-Xenons
    2 - Bi-Xenons and Fogs
    3 - Fogs
    4 - Off

Those interested they are 5000k bulbs for white light.

everything is tastefully done, love the passion, and i can only imagine what 450lbs of torque feels like on a 3,000 lb car, in my 5k lb touareg it was pretty awesome.

Cheers man. I actually been weighing up the badge and going back to silver to tie in With the badge... Yeh she's not sluggish however the 3.0l turbo would produce a stronger curve and a little more power :)

They are Iris surrounds with Mini Morimoto lenses and slim ballasts running 5000k pure white. I was going to do the FX-R install, however the install and lining them up is significantly harder, so stuck with the Morimoto to ensure a good finished item.

Thanks man, I was going to go OEM... but after the units, wiring, components it was around £500-£600 so this is a much better result for the money and looks OEM!
