I can now say there is a very significant difference between the 2010 and 2014 versions of the map software. The 2014 version (6.8.2) definitely displays a lot more street names at the same zoom setting (e.g., 75 yards) than the old version. The new version also has much more 3D content (buildings, etc.). IMO it was definitely worth doing the update as I think the latest version is a considerable improvement over the 2010 version. The only thing I wish Audi would have included in the update was the display of the speed limit when on a highway like the 3G+ system does.
