I purchased a '10 S5 last month (my first Audi) and I wanted to have the nav system maps updated, so I made an appointment at my local Audi dealership for last Friday to have this done. About an hour after leaving the car at the dealership I get a call from them informing me that they can’t perform the map update because they didn’t order the activation code, so we rescheduled for Monday. When I picked up my S5 on Monday (and paying over $400 for the map update), I got the car back home only to find out that the map software is still the 2010 version (NAR 5.3.4) instead of the 2014 version (NAR 6.8.2). I called the dealership and informed them of this. They apologized and said they have no idea why the map software upgrade was unsuccessful. Now I’m scheduled to bring it back tomorrow (Wednesday) for another attempt at the map update.
I don’t know if anyone else on this forum has had a similar experience like this, but I hope this is not representative of Audi vehicle service. As my first experience with Audi service, so far it has not been a very positive one.
