Spectators of the Le Mans 24 Hours enjoyed a thrilling 21st hour of the race.

Allan McNish and Benoît Tréluyer entertained the crowds with a fierce battle for the lead. The Scotsman in the #2 Audi R18 e-tron quattro and the Frenchman in the #1 sister car swapped positions owing to different pit stop sequences. At 12 a.m., just 3.034s separated the two Audi drivers.

Meanwhile, third-placed Oliver Jarvis in the #4 Audi R18 ultra and Marc Gené on fourth in the #3 sister car held their positions with three hours to go.
