Hey guys, I'm somewhat new here and just got my car almost a year ago, spending most of my own life savings ($17,500) on the car. I'm turning 18 next march, and feel like its time for some upgrades.

I bought a non-s line Moro Blue 2006 A4 Quattro (named Titanic) with all the interior upgrades I could get (power seats, auto lights, dimming mirrors, etc.) and 34,xxx miles. Now its at about 40,200.

Here are some pics of the beauty when I first got it:

As of 10/18/12 I've had done minor modifications of replacing my halogen bulbs and fog lights to brighter halogen bulbs (ultra white), put a lamin-x slightly tinted protective film on headlights, black mesh sports grille from ECS tuning, and replaced my tail lights to JOM LED slightly smoked tail lights from ECS tuning. I have some pictures below.

    11/5/12

Took a nice picture with the new bulbs and grille, thought I'd through it on.

As of 11/25/12 I had gotten my cat-back Magnaflow Exhaust system ordered and installed. I will provide a comparison sound clip as soon as I can.

Here are pictures of comparing the size of the exhaust tips. They look great.

    Stock

    Magnaflow

On 12/9/12 I bought these O.Z. Ultraleggera 18x8 et45 Wheels. Got them for a steal, $670 shipped and they look really good. No bends, barely any curb rash, amazing. Here are some pics, sorry for shitty quality, pics from my iPhone 4.

12/17/12 Got the O.Z. Ultraleggera 18x8 et45 wheels on with 235/40ZR-18 Continental ExtremeContact DWS XL tires

4/29/13 ST Performance Coilovers came in the mail

5/8/13 After a long aggravating process of repairing a cracked spindle detected during the install of the ST Coilovers, I finally got it home. I am currently at 25.5" FTG all around, hands down one of the best mods I've ever done. The ride quality is pretty good. The comfort is still there, there is additional stiffness to the ride which is great, and I can go higher or lower if I want with just a jack stand and my own hands. I know I could definitely go lower, being at such a conservative drop, but with horrible roads like the ones I have around here, I would rather not. However if I do feel like I want to go lower, its no problem. Fantastic investment. Here are some pictures.

Stock Suspension Ride Height (unknown measurements):

ST Coilover Ride Height (25.5" FTG):

5/8/13 I decided to take a look at what the car would look like with a show-n-go. With the "Front Plate Law" in NY, I need it mounted or displayed. Obviously it look so much cleaner without the plate entirely, but I can't afford the frequent tickets I would be getting

10/6/13 UPDATE: Got my OEM Bi-xenon HID's delivered a few days ago from a fellow member on the classifieds :) Once I get home from school next weekend (American University, Washington D.C.) I'm sending them out to fly300kts to get CC and blackout, then doing the DIY to install them. Bought 6000k Ziza bulbs for them, also got the new ECS black/black RS4 style grille to replace my FK grille. When I get home I'll take pics of everything and get straight to the install.

Very nice. How in the world does a 17 year old have 17k in life savings though?

Sounds like a pretty good build thus far! Too bad I cannot view your photos, my comp is jacked at work, but I will be able to when I get home later today. What's next to do?

If you dont mind me asking... what were your initial investments? and returns??

i mean, even if you invested 8,500$ and those stocks DOUBLED (which i doubt they did)
thats still a lot of moolah for a 12yo...
idk i want to invest, but big returns and the risk only seem to work out for those with BIG investments...

Thanks dude. As soon as I'm home for thanksgiving I'll be doing the DIY to install the OEM Bi-Xenon's I just got delivered, as soon as they return from me sending them to fly300kts for blackout and CC mod. Since I have to remove the bumper, I also ordered the RS4 style grille (black on black) to replace the FK, as well as smoked side reflectors to get that ugly ass orange out of the picture. I have a dark colored car so the smoked will look good. I have a bit of a wish list still, including:

    35% tints all around
    HFC
    APR Stage II Tune
    DTM Body Styling

Sounds like some good stuff, man! Always keep this thread posted with photos! Also good job on the stocks, you're gonna go far dude. Does your little brother plan on getting a subaru? I almost picked one up instead of my A4, ahaha.

I'm helping him do research. He really likes the WRX, I'm going to take a look around and at the one he pics before we take it. He doesn't know much about cars yet, I know a lot more (not nearly enough though) so hopefully we'll make a good choice.

Got these in recently. Time to open up, clear corner, black out, install 6000K bulbs, LED DRL or some form of a white-look bulb (maybe yellow) and LED City Lights, then install them with my kufatec and do my VAG COM. A lot of work to do but the ending product is worth it.

I wanna clear corner my lights, but afraid to do it wrong and water gets on the inside haha, lemme know how yours goes!

Yeah I'm terrified of it too. I'm kind of getting cold feet but I'm going to do my research. I'm thinking of maybe wrapping the inside with vinyl but I'm not sure how that would go with the temperatures and such. I did however order LED city lights, LED fog lights, the stealth bulbs and clear caps. Also RS4 style black/black grille and a new set of rings I'm going to sand and repaint matte silver. Its going to look great.

    UPDATE:

    1. Followed Phil's DIY as well as Nick's Car Blog DIY for LED DRL (although have not installed the resistors because I haven't hooked up the headlights) to do the Clear Corner and Blackout mod. Here are pictures from the whole process.

    2. In the middle of the process, I got pissed and took a break and debadged the back. I should have done it a long time ago, looks so much cleaner

    3. Bought an RS4 replica grille to fit my non S-line bumper, sanded down the rings and painted them a matte silver

Your joey mod came out great! I must do this soon! Can you link me to the DRL and city light bulbs you purchased please?

DRL (buy two of these): http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00...?ie=UTF8&psc=1

City Light (come in packs of two, you only to buy one set): http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00...?ie=UTF8&psc=1 EDIT: these didn't work

Resistors (bought four of these): http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00...?ie=UTF8&psc=1 EDIT: these melted plastic

This is the DIY I will be following, however since I haven't installed these I'm looking for more vivid ones. Let me know if you find a better one: http://nickscarblog.com/cars/b7-audi...ng-lights-drl/

Edit: the city lights didn't end up working, and I never tested the DRL's because they were damaged so I just disabled them. I installed yellow DRL's and ECS City lights, found on page 2

UPDATE: Installed the resistors on my LED DRL's and City Lights as I wait for my VAG COM cable to come in the mail. I'm going to wrap these in some heat resistant material so they don't burn or melt anything inside the engine bay. Hopefully this will be an easy, painless install with no unexpected problems.

How do you like that magnaflow exhaust? I have a set of magnaflow mufflers right now and they are driving me insane....droniest POS mufflers ever. Literally have not been in a car that has more drone than mine, not even my friend's straight piped 2.7 s4 has close to as much drone.

Sorry to hear that man. I love my cat-back magnaflow exhaust and haven't had any issues with it. It gives me the decently loud, deep sound I like, doesn't have drone (or any that I notice), cruises well on the highway and is still a head turner. If you want information on where to get the exhaust for a great price, message me. Seriously this exhaust changed the car for me and I love every bit of it, and can't wait to put my downpipe and HFC on it to maximize its potential.

It is mostly due to the 3" rather than the BT. The large the pipe the harder it is to control noise.

Thanks esm. I'm saving up for JHM Stage II, followed by a DTM Conversion with RS4 fog retrofits and maybe a retrofit RS4 grille. Either that or I may buy another replica RS4 grille like I already have and shop it up to fit a filler plate.

My family and I, after a lot of research and looking around the general area, found a gem for my younger brother. 2007 B7 with 58,000 miles on it. 3.2L V6 engine, quattro, loaded with features (stock bi-xenons woohoo!!), zero accidents, and RED. So glad to have him join the B7 family, can't wait to start working on it. We pick it up this weekend.

The car looks good man. It looks like you have had those LED tail lights for about a year and a half now. How have they held up? Any burnt bulbs or leds? Any issues with bulb warning lights or anything?

Been missing my car while I'm at college so I edited a snap chat picture I had taken a while ago, makes for a nice profile icon picture. Shitty quality picture because it was on snap chat though. I can't wait to get back on Tuesday the 6th to get some more work done to her.

Hey dude, great work on the car so far! You've done many of the mods I've done / plan to.

You ever find a grill with no filler plate? Like I wonder if theres one with the rs4 honeycomb grill the entire expanse of the grill, with no plate... plate. That'd make it look a lot more like the new audis

If I save up for the DTM bumper I'm going to get an RS6 grille, cut it to fit the non s-line frame and put it on my car. Phil has a DIY as to how to do it with a B7 RS4 grille to a non s-line frame, it will be the same process.

Came home from my freshmen year at American University yesterday, gorgeous day out and took some pictures as well as a nice drive. I'm so glad to be home, now to decide what to do next. DTM bumpers or JHM Stage 2 or Audio System Revamp

They're great, plug and play. Only issue is the lenses are very brittle. My right trunk-light was hit with a tennis ball (decently hard) and it broke. A TENNIS BALL! I'm pissed about it.
