Just purchased my first Audi ever, a 2012 S5 cabrio after having been a lifelong BMW M3 owner. Also being a serial tweaker, the ample opportunity to mod the S5 became a major factor in my decision to purchase the car. My goals with mods is to add some customization to the appearance without turning the S5 into a racer boy car. Performance mods will (hopefully) focus on maintaining reliability and everyday driveability. However, both my wife and wallet believes that I wont be able to control myself and will ultimately go off the deep end (again). If history with my previous vehicles is any indication, they are both right!
We dont see many modded cabrios on this forum so here are some in stock form...enjoy because I dont think it will be like this for long!

First mod: Window tinting. Went 35% on sides, 20% in the rear, and 65% on the windshield. I am very happy with the quality but the tint turned out darker than I wanted. I didnt realize how much the black interior would add to the overall darkness of the tint. I will live with it for a while but ultimately will probably go with the lighter tint as soon as I either a ticket or I get sick of it.

Very good looking cab...I like the tint honestly. Lets grow this thread with some mods
I surely hope so though I doubt I can ever reach audi-mod-god status like some members of this site! However, I do have some nice bits coming in the mail this week that will further separate me from my retirement.

audi's windows come with a base tint of thier own, it is very light, but lets say your target % was some where around 35 or 30, you would have to get a film rated at like 45-40 because of the factory shade.....black interior doesn;t help, but i made the same mistake on my b7

I don't even have an audi....i just love me some 'zine

I know this mod is pretty polarizing but after reading almost every thread I could on this topic I decided to apply VentureShield to my bumper, front quarter panel, and part of my hood. Yes, I know there are seams but knowing my obsessive nature and how particular I am about my cars, I felt that a clear bra was a must for me. I could live with the seams because of the piece of mind the clear bra provides me. I am actually very happy with the end result. At some angles I cannot even see the seams. Yes I know over time the color may change and the seams may become more obvious but when that time comes I think I will just do it again. Here are some very close up pics using my dslr. Unfortunately, I didn't have my macro lens but you get the idea that in order to see the seam you have to be up REALLY close.

Yep, remove and don't replace. Just take some fish line and saw it off. Pick off leftover adhesive with fingers and hit the excess with goo gone. And heat can help with adhesive removal. It's easy and takes little time and you won't hurt anything.
That sounds scary! By that I assume you mean use the fishing line to get between the badge and the body panel and basically "slice" down. The only thing holding the badge on is glue? Funny I am comfortable tearing into my engine and suspension but removing the badge gives me the willies!

Yep, just work it off. Just hold onto it once you get it almost off as it will shift as it comes off. Yea, basically ds tape. I done it 30+ times. It cake
Thank you. At first I didnt like the idea of adding the "Supercharged" badge as I thought it would look cheesy but the carbon fiber looks nice. It would accent my CF splitter and valence well.
Hmmm...naked or with badge??

Ok, you convinced me. I am going to order some up. For only $40 I figure if I dont like them I can take them off...not that big of a loss...I just wish the badge wasnt so wide...

glad i could help you spend some money on ur car lol :)
I can nickel and dime this stuff all day long...its the BIIIG stuff I am afraid of...right now I am obsessed with coilovers and the facelift tail lights. Thank goodness davidb8 is off grid and is not able to code the lights or else I would be in serious trouble with the missus!

Bk, you have polluted the build thread with this badge nonsense lol. Not a fan...stands out too much...but I am a badge hater:) I like the lines of the car, not a piece of plastic to be the foucs.
Just a small mod while I wait for some more interesting bits to arrive. Install was straight forward though getting the airbox cover back on took a little time. I havent had a chance to drive it yet but will do so tomorrow and report back.
