    Can't Decide (Blacking out headlights)

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
Trying to get a few mods done before WF (minor things) and the one that has been on the top of my list is blacking out the inside of my headlights. I don't want to hear "don't do it, get your flame suit on, etc. Asking for opinions (negative ones too) on what route I should go.. I know there are plenty of threads, with plenty of different ways but I'm just stumped right now and wanted to hear what you guys have to say :D
    This style -
    Or this style -
Pic of my car for reference

I'm open to any other suggestions!

I like the 1st one also. They both look good, but the 2nd option reminds me of the Mazda 3 style projector lights.

    Nice car btw!

i think the second one would look pretty killer from some angles, but the first would look good from all angles.

I like the second one. First one looks like a blodge of silver in your headlights. Second makes the projector and reflectors stand out.

    ^ Good to hear!

Thanks guys! I was leaning more towards the 1st one but just wasn't sure, now I am.

I just happened to see a few cars at lunch and on the web that have the same effect straight from the factory!

    Just announced Chevy Sonic:

    Dodge Avenger:

    Kia Sorrento:

I personally am glad my xenon's look like an Audi, but not everyone has the same tastes...

Just because a Kia or Hyundai has blacked out headlights doesn't mean they stop "being cool". It's your car, do what you want.

Definitely going with option 1, #2 is just too much.

Quick paint question ( I know I know, its been covered blah blah blah).. Anyways, I know high temp is what should be used, but do you guys have any recommendations on what kind? Flat black, gloss black, etc? I had different kinds written down somewhere but lost the paper lol. IIRC flat black is the usual choice??

I know you've already made up your mind lol I've had both option 1 on the car but decided on my dark car option two would fit it better :-) I think on your quartz b7 option one will be a better balance

Go with number 1, had mine painted like that when flys were installed and I love it. IMO the all black (second one) can look strange from certain angles. Good luck

It looks like he's going with option #1. He dropped off his car at my place on Sunday since he'll be on vacation for 2 weeks. I'll start on his car this weekend.

i personally would leave it as is, not a huge fan of the black inside, its a classy car and doing the inside black is taking away from it but to each his own and i wish you luck on it.

I know I'm a n00b at all this but I don't even see a huuuge difference between the 2 options!! So is it just that the back wall of the housing, itty-bitty parts that you see between the projectors, is black? Coz all the other surfaces inside are black anyway.

Also, I'm about to get a set of Fly's Leds...I'm faced with the same question now, blacked out or not?

EDIT: My car's a brilliant black B7 non-sline stock look...
