good job, I had a heat gun, didn't help, it was a PITA, and I've wrapped a bunch of shit, interior trim etc.

You're certainly right about it being a PITFA. It's a two person job; I had someone heat as I worked it around the trim. Really, I could have used a third person's hand. I should have bought the grille with the black trim in the first place.

Almost 14 years ago come December it used to look like this but with some no so styleish 1980's wheels instead of the American racing wheels that are on there now.



Story goes like this- some lady bought it new and it was Lemon Wood Yellow (baby yellow) and had it for long time then gave it to her granddaughter. She then painted it Light Red (pink). She then wanted to become a lawyer and need a less noticeable car and sold it. I then bought it because the motor only had 9k on it. I didn't. Are about the color as I knew I was going to paint it someday. Well throughout high school I saved up and about a year after I graduated I was able to get it painted. Plus during high school I did suspension ,brakes, interior and header back exhaust. Lady's loved it. Of course I did get some flack for driving a pink car, only a handfull of people didn't like it. But it's one of the reasons Of how I met my wife so can't complain.

I have one too and love it. Tonight my neighbor said my car sounds like a jet. She wasn't complaining (exaggerating maybe but she frequently compliments my Audi). She's a nurse and drives a caddy, I had to explain why it makes that sound.

Who did you deal with at Pfaff Tuning? Trevor Jones is a great guy. Dealt with him for all of my parts/tuning. Him and I have become good friends since.

I like Adam's double bucket wash system, works well. I bought a bunch of Griots wax/clay products so I plan on doing that once before winter. Can't really go wrong with either one!

very nice, first mod i did to my B8 as well, looks so much nicer and classier with the strips added, makes the grille pop. looks even better on the facelift grille.

Why don't they come from the dealer with the chrome strips already installed? The grille looks incomplete without them!

yeah thats what i wondered, the S4 does come with the chrome, but on the A4 its like the empty groove is there but strips not included, good thing the grooves are there though makes it easy to place in. but i guess they just want to make extra $ off it, same way i think the exhaust pipes should just come with the chrome tips from factory. also i guess not everyone might like the chrome, same way how a lot of people black out the chrome grille surround and all that, but yeah IMO definitely looks better with the chrome accents.

I ended up removing mine after a couple months and like it much more without now. Simplest answer is that not everyone loves chrome and it's another extra they can make money on

if you've got a gloss black surround then i think it would look pretty good, at least better than none at all IMO. yea very subtle but a nice detail, and im sure will look nice from certain angles too whenever the gloss makes it stand out. i think you should definitely go for it, worse case just peel em off, very quick and cheap mod and worth a try.

I do, but the whole grill is glossy, so it's not like it would have a matte background, it just simply fill in the recessed area - where are you guys ordering this stuff?

You can get it at any Advanced Auto Parts store (1/8" size)

I'm pretty sure on the 2013 models the chrome tips for the exhaust are standard. At least for the Prem+ and Prestige.
