    Re: Questions about SSAutoChrome (SSAC)?

well I don't think it would be so bad to ask a muffler/exhuast shop to cut the 2.25 bottleneck ends and weld in 2.5" replacements. I don't know anything at all about welding, but does the quality of the steel need to be the exact same for it not to break off in the future?

    Re: Questions about SSAutoChrome (SSAC)?

ordered mine and got it within 7 days... great service.

had to have an exhaust shop cut and reweld once or twice to make it fit better, but well worth it

now i have a set of downpipes and straight pipes spare as i already had the AWE downpipes.
Anyone interested in a set of downpipes only? PM me

You need 2 additional clamps (2-1/4) at the minimum. This is assuming your stock clamps are good enough to reuse. Given your location, They might be rusted a bit.

Well I got the tracking email. But it also says to remit payment of additional $100 because it cost another $100 to ship to hawaii. That sucks, they should of told me before they shipped it. I would have sent it to Nor Cal to our addy up there, then have it added to one of the skips that we have coming to hawaii with our company. Oh well to late now, I just I got one of the exhaust that fits together. Thanks for the help anyways guys.

For those of you struggling with opening a box there is a very easy way. Just turn it 90 degrees so that the taped/stapled side is on the left or right. then just take a box cutter to the fresh side that is facing upwards. takes 1 minute.

Okay, I have tried searching, but there are so many threads it will take hours to search through. The DP's and cat back are being installed this weekend along with the AWE Stage 3 and I need to know what needs to be done to pass emissions and not throw a CEL. Thanks.

leave stock cats alone and dont put in the test pipes and ull pass emissions. as far as not getting a CEL, if your going stage 3 just make sure ur ecu program knows u replaced the downpipes so you dont throw any codes, like how stage2+ software does

I just got back from SSP and I love my SSAC set up. I highly suggest that you get clamps to replace the stock ones. Mine are rusted to shit and are causing a leak. Other than that, I'm very satisfied with the overall product and customer service (of SSAC). Thanks!

How did you get the new downpipes in. I'm having issues. my car is on jackstands at the moment... I got rained out last night... Thanks!

o... if anyone is doing this on their own. i highly recommend getting a 17mm ratcheting wrench for the turbo nuts. sucks otherwise and i was unable to remove one nut until I bought that wrench. I couldn't reset the regular wrench to get another turn on the nut and there was no clearance for a ratchet and socket. me = envious of a those who have access to a lift.
