C7 RS7 with APR Stage 2 - cam actuator fault?

Hi - I'm looking at purchasing a C7 RS7 from a local dealer. Previous owner had performed the APR stage 2 ECU upgrade + new exhaust. The car is insanely fast and drives incredible but the check engine light is on. I got the error codes from the service dept and they are as follows:

    • P0456: system evap leak
    • P11CD: Camshaft actuator fault

The service dept tried 3 times to fix these but to no avail. Car runs and drives just fine. Is this something you would be concerned about?

    Looks like cylinder 8.

F479 some references to Cylinder on demand. Wonder if you could get the APR flash version to cancel CoD.

Thanks @widebodyfx. I'll go back down to the dealer tomorrow to see if I can get the name of the APR installer and investigate.

I've read that camshaft actuator sensors are pretty easy to replace (within reason). I just can't tell yet if that's actually the problem.

Curious if this would concern you at all in a potential purchase?

Appreciate it, and am really impressed with how responsive this community is.

Cylinder 8 is fairly accessible, but if the dealer can't fix the problem that could sound concerning. Achtuning in Redmond is an APR shop, I've seen them pull a RS7 motor for a broken valve spring but that was cylinder 1 back at the firewall and cylinder 5 seems to have issues on some cars.

You can't get APR RS7 Stage 2 anymore but DS1 is a great option for a lot of owners. If not this one, there are other great cars out there.
