    Late intro, 2016 S6 Stage 3

6 months in, just passed 2k miles, have done lot's of reading in that time. Thanks to all for the knowledge sharing here.

Big thanks to my guys at TWCompetition. Big thanks the vendors here as well Alex@Europrice, has answered any and all questions and delivered on everything in a very timely manner. Achtuning for the work they've done so far, top notch guys that want to do it right or not at all. Ferdi at Cete for his off hours answering of different topics. Sean@Tag as well.

Last modding experience was from the VQ (Nissan/Infiniti) days. This platform reminds me of that, multiple vehicles with the same basic core, parts available from the homeland that are highly sought after.

A few weeks into ownership, lowered with H&R module after VAGCOM limit wasn't enough. H&R module recently sold to another forum member, it's a good module especially getting it second hand.

Glacier on black, prestige, drivers assist, black optic, sport. Got a Friends And Family deal which was killer, 300.00 over invoice and the car was already on a lot so no waiting.

Some HREs from a forum member here. P40SC, 21x9.5 +35, Toyo 255/30-21. Wheels were on an A6 with Stasis brakes, unfortunately they didn't clear the OEM S6 brakes. A 3mm spacer would have worked but running a 5mm in the front only rub the liner on dip and turn.

CF mirrors, seller said they are used OEM. They are not overlayed CF and the weave is perfect so I'll assume they are legit.

OEM RS grille from Alex@Europrice, top is OEM, bottom is knock off that came with my bumper. When you compare the 2 in hand the difference is fairly noticeable, the price difference is incredibly different so value is up to the buyer.

Got in on the GB for the euro tails, the sweeping function is legit.

Some Eurocode goodies during their summer sale. Sways and endlinks Alu Kreuz.

Did a fair bit of research on the various RS style bumpers. Visually if you look at the side flaps and center bar some of the copies out there, they are using RS7 style components. Side flaps being full hoops and not just flaps, center bar on the RSy is not as straight as the real RS6.

Imported a RS style bumper from http://www.xenonz.co.uk/ It made it over from the UK fairly quickly, the shipper sent it as freight so had to do some importing process with UPS to pay the duties. Fitment was decent overall, bodyshop is in Seattle. I'm originally from SoCal so it would have been done better if I was back there.

Worthwhile change if you like to not look like the car next to you, yes the S6 is not very common but I prefer to be a little different.

At this point the car still only had 1200 miles on it. Got the ACC realigned at the dealer and did the 5k service since 5k will take me a long time to get to and I wanted the car checked into the dealer records before the go fast fun. Roc Euro intake kit had been sitting in the box since June.

    Cete active suspension module.

    RS turbos from Alex@Europrice

Also received Euro headlights from Alex@Europrice

    Onto drop off at Achtuning.

RS turbos, AMS catted downpipes, AMS turbo cooler APR stage 3 ECU and TCU was the plan.

Ran into some very tight clearances with the AMS catted downpipes. Clearance to the back of the engine bay was very tight, Achtuning was concerned about vibrations and other issues. Asked how I wanted to proceed.

Switched gears to the APR downpipes.

AMS coolant tank had to be modified to clear the back of the ACC housing.

Headlights in, love the amber being removed.

Missed the last test n tune drag event in the Seattle area by a few days. Was bummed but all good, local dyno shop was free on Saturday. In all the years of modding and getting on a dyno, I've never had the dyno owner allow the vehicle owner to do the pull. From the driver seat.

93 tune, Seattle has 92 pump this is a splash of 100 to get the octane up. Hood was shut on the pull, next time I'll have the hood open.

Earlier I mentioned xenonz being good copies of the components from the real RS6. Ordered CF parts from pretos performance in Germany.

Have more stuff waiting for install and on the way, some other ideas possibly in the plan but wanted to say thanks to the forum for being a good community.

    1/18/17 some quick updates.
Carbon Designz Facelift CF diffuser. https://carbon-designz.com/audi-s6-4...-diffusor.html This is the 245 carbon. Ordered mid November, it arrived early Jan.

Tried again to use the AMS catted downpipes, which failed miserably again. These were supposed to be revised from my previous install experience of way to close to things in the engine bay. Achtuning worked around it to get the Akrapovic installed.

Nicer photos of the Akrapovic and CF diffuser

    Some Bananas!

Some CCB photos I collected while day dreaming.
400mm front, notice how close the brake pad is to the disc hat.

    Reserved for update

Difference between 400mm and 420mm front is visible here.

400/370 kit to maintain flexibility in tire selection.

Test fit before paint - Front

About the same impact spot as the original calipers so still need to run a spacer until I get new wheels

    Rear

The front calipers have an interesting profile.

Decals courtesy of Sean@Tag Red and Yellow reminds me of McDonald's so went with the flag black and a red border to stay close to the original design.

    Painted

Loaded and reassembled, literally looks like bananas

Some Achtuning shots. These guys are great to work with.

    Ceramics on.

    Some little mods.
    P3 vidi gauge

    Beam rings

Replacement Tikore bolts for the stupid spacer in the front.

Temp wheels so I can get the HREs refinished. 20x10 +35 265/35-20 PSS. Getting used to the darker wheel.

    Inner clearance in the front.

    12months in.

Finally got to the drag strip. 1st run was not good, left it in Sport and the shifting was blah, second run all manual shifting.

Great build! Dyno power curve looks great and good too see it consistently matches mine on power to the wheels. Did you also change out the rear diffuser? Maybe I didn't see it in the documentation but which one did you go with. That's one part on my car I'm thinking of changing.

Also surprised about the fitment issues with AMS components. Not sure if anything is different with 2014 versus 2016. Don't believe I had any clearance issues with my DPs or coolant upgrade.

Thank you, the original wheel owner gets the credit. He took care of them and shipped them perfectly, wheels wrapped in the Audi wheel storage bags, individually boxed and on a pallet.

It's some coin to do all this in a short time frame, was trying to do things in batches to minimize down time when I had to use a shop.

Alex did offer the Matrix option, hindsight I probably should have gone that route. He said there would be the possibility of having the front blinker sweep to match the rears. Think the difference in costs wasn't too bad, would have required running some cabling between the rear sweep module to the front. Maybe later down the line.

I have your dyno sheets saved, it's fairly spot on what you get which is a good marker for others thinking of doing the same. First pull had some errors on the dyno side so they closed the hood. Think I'll be back there this week for a 100 map pull

Yeah, I was surprised but saw the clearances myself. You can see how close the cat is to the heat shield at the back of the engine bay here. It probably would not have been an issue overall and I really wanted a bolt on downpipe for my Akrapovic I have waiting to install. Will just mod the APR downpipes to work with that exhaust. AMS accepted a full refund return when they saw the photos, said they would modify their jig so it is not as close for future downpipe assemblies.

The turbo cooler tank modify was because of the bumper, the ACC housing is moved vs. stock so that was my own doing by using the aftermarket bumper.

Body shop said they had to do some work to line it up but I take that with a grain of salt since they charged more. My shops in SoCal probably would have loved installing this for it's fitment, Plastic is also worlds better than the cheap fiberglass stuff made for some car lines. One side of the side openings is a channel to the oil cooler, the other side normally has a block off plate. In a perfect world I would have preferred they provided a new block off plate but not a huge issue to have one made up. The toe hook cover on the facelift RS6 is also not round like this one is.

For aftermarket it is a good fit overall, the fact that OEM grille fit in fairly well shows how good the bumper is. The xenonz stuff is good, the GBP exchange rate works heavily in our favor after brexit! That stuff you see on eBay has huge shipping costs. Think I paid 250 GBP for the shipping and 200 USD for the import duties.

The power is ridiculous! Have only had the chance to use LC a few times, that is insanity. The Toyos at temp were good at keeping wheel spin to a minimum. Recently switched to PSS in the same 255/30-21 size. These are really nice tires.

I have a Twin Turbo VQ as my other car so higher power drive train is not something new to me. The Audi power delivery is very well done.

Have to throw this out there to anyone contemplating Audi purchases. Audi has a program in San Francisco called Audi On Demand. https://www.us.audiondemand.com/us/s..._ondemand.html This is my first German car in a while and test drives are only so helpful. I rented an Audi in SF for a weekend and got to get a feel for it before purchasing, was well worth it.

Yes, you making me want to buy the bumper again aswell...sadely no parking help sensors option :s.

Never the less, good job sofar and looking forward what else you have in store :).
    Enjoy your ride
Have not seen a RS style bumper with the park assist sensor holes!

I remember this topic, hack devil I believe was the AZ member. I visually looked over his images in my research. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mW9od8uJdWg

You can see the center bar is a bit rounded.

Here's some variants out there, just grabbing photos from eBay. Facelift variants are not as high as pre-facelift.

Stone carbon facelift with parking distance sensor. Notice the side flaps are full hoops, this is the RS7 style flap. Unsure what they used for the center bar and or if the side flaps are exact copies of the RS7 or not.

Back cover of the side flaps should be mesh, these look to be almost like channels to put air in a certain place.

Random pre-facelift. No parking distance sensor, the toe hook is correct and not round, side flaps are flaps vs. hoops.

Another random pre-facelift. Center bar cut for some reason, looks very close to the Stone carbon except the center bar chop.

Thanks! This one is not going to be everyone's cup of tea, ended up mostly a show car but I used to run it at the drag strip too. http://www.pasmag.com/features/379-wild-cat?showall=1

This is pretty awesome, I wonder if they have that program in NY?

Believe it is only in SF right now, it's a great program idea. Would make sense in major markets with the shift to shared car access or just city people needing something for specific occasions like a night out, skiing or just a road trip in a RS or S8 Plus!

I understood, the US vehicles have no option for park assist/help system. In all my research I never saw any RS style bumpers with the side sensors. Suppose it would not be too difficult to add, but I love plug and play, we deal with enough stuff in our modding.

Did you have to do anything to the DSG besides a tune? I'm still waiting for the breaking point on the clutches, which you haven't seemed to reach!

Nothing done yet to the trans besides the TCU flash. I'm contemplating TTE, waiting for them to get back to me so we'll see if we may find out what the breaking point is.

Dragging this should be fun. Pretty sure a 285/35-20 would fit under the stock body, will run with street tires first. https://www.toyotires.com/tire/patte...petition-tires
