    MIB2 Firmware Update

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
    Hey Guys,

So back in the day (God that makes me feel old ) I had @Carplay_audi upgrade my firmware remotely to enable CarPlay/Android Auto on my 2016 S7. Think it was early 2019.

The firmware version he upgraded to was MHI2_ER_AU57x_P3634 which enabled Audi Smartphone functionality on the C7.5 models without factory CarPlay enabled.

Now we are a few years down the road and Id like to update to the latest available firmware MHI2_ER_AU57x_K3663_1 which Ive downloaded and (unsuccessfully) tried to upgrade my MIB2 system to.

The downloaded software looks fine, and is recognised ok by my system, however when I try and run the update it fails because all the upgrade options are defaulted to N (which I guess means NO) so the actual Upgrade selection on the menu list is greyed out.

Has anyone else, who had the CarPlay/Android Auto hack applied, successfully upgraded their firmware to the latest release?

Ive reached out to CarPlay_Audi via the forum, but it doesn't look like he's very active these days, and not had a reply yet.

Below picture shows the upgrade screen I get, going further into the menu shows more options, non of which can be changed, and I don't want to mess too much and brick the system. All the YT tutorials show most of these options defaulted to Y

    Anyone any ideas

    Cheers,
    John.

I thought he was active on the chat service...not on the forums.

When I had Carplay_Audi work on mine, I connected with him via Telegram. I used Ben Weaving's thenavman.com to update to most recent firmware and maps. Only issue is after using Park Assist, display returns to menu screen and not Carplay screen.

I actually reached out to Ben a few months back, he told me his version wasn’t suitable for the current (carplay_audi) firmware that I had, so didn’t purchase from him. I don’t believe the software that Ben sends out is any different from the ones you can source from online.

The issue for me is that with all upgrade options defaulted to No, I can’t actually get beyond the initial check screen….

As an early recipient of the carplay_audi contact, I had the same thing where the version issue was a soft code. I had Sima rework both my cars so I don't have the soft code anymore.
