Anyone Ever Replace a LED DRL on a C7?

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
my right side DRL is out, checked wiring, wiring is good. Not sure if theres a bulb to replace, or some fuse to check. I know the low and high beams are controlled by the ballast, how about for the DRL?

Or does a bad LED DRL warrant a new headlight?

Think single LED you're stuck with replacing the whole thing, part 2 here says power module for DRL. https://audi.7zap.com/en/rdw/audi+a6.../9/941-941015/

That looks like exactly what I need!

Theres one on each headlight and the other headlight is fine. Good thing you can buy the module seperately too

You could flip them to see if that resolves it, would hate for you to buy one and it be a housing issue.

Did you ever end up resolving this? I believe my passenger side LED DRL is also dying. It’s noticeably dimmer than the driver side.

Haha yea, I’ve been racking my brain and combing the forums for info. I have the xenon lights. The base model headlight for model year 2016 basically. However, they have that LED DRL across the top. That thing is definitely getting dim, especially when compared to the drivers side DRL

You can swap modules left to right to see if it follows.

I bought an aftermarket DRL module off amazon, that worked for me. I would take a look at your DRL control module, look up that part number for a replacement and it should fix it for you. Like widebodyfx said, you can also swap your left and right module to see in fact if the module is bad or not.

Sounds like a plan! I’ll have to work on it once I get home from this work trip. I found the parts numbers for the modules on another post somewhere, I have it saved so I’ll reference that.

off topic but why did you end up selling your c7 a7 after doing so many mods to it? I m kind of on the way there too but ran into an issue that my car is overheating prob the thermostat or water pump.

In all honesty I loved the crap out of my A7. Unfortunately it got totaled, the accident wasn’t too bad but for some reason my insurance was eager to deem it as totaled. I was very sad, but everything happens for a reason and I was able to turn the L into a W by getting into a good condition S6 for a great price. I was never planning to, but I don’t regret it at all, the S6 is faster and is basically the same car in many ways.

If I were you I would fix the overheating issue, you’ll get many trouble free miles out of the A7. I would only get rid of it if you’re planning to get something better, otherwise you may just be depressed when it’s gone

Unfortunately didnt get a chance to dyno, it was def in the plans

    fastest 0-60 was 3.47
fastest 1/4 was 11.6 at 113 but ive trapped 115 on worse runs

A friend of mine with the exact same setup on his A7 was running consistent 11.1-11.4, So I would say low 11s is expected with that setup. Crank up the meth a bit more and have your tuner add some more power maybe even 10s is possible. They are still advancing the 3.0t platform a lot, I think port injected meth would definitely get it into the 10s. I was spraying at TB which is convenient but not the best for equal atomization to all cylinders
