RS7's New Garage Mate (Made To Coexist)

I moved on from a Nissan GTR to a new 2018 Audi R8 V10plus. I've been negotiating with the dealer for a couple of months and we finally came to terms. I've wanted this car ever since I saw it at an auto show. It's Daytona Grey Pearl, with options that include the Sport Seat Package, B&O sound system, 20" wheel package, Dynamic steering and numerous other add-ons. I do not have any significant seat time yet but that will happen soon enough.

Congrats! Not sure what mods you had done to the GT-R, but it’s a very different car than the R8. I had a 2010 and a 2014 FBO GT-R, and moved into a 2012 R8 with a VF750 SC 6MT. The GT-Rs just make going fast so easy, versus the R8 is more of an event to go fast. I’ve been enjoying the R8 the past couple of years for sure. I would highly recommend the SC if you feel the need for more power!

Just beautiful. I consider the R8 a GT car that has 2 personalities and can be a sports car too. I go back and forth with whether for me it will be a Continental GT, an 911, or an R8... I'll be 60 in 2 short years and hopefully will decide by then. Congrats!

My GTR had a Switzer P600 package so it was a high 10 second car. I've also had seat time in their Ultimate Street, pushing close to 1000hp. The GTR is a wonderful car and I had mine for almost 9 years but as I grew older I became less tolerant of the very unrefined nature of the GTR. Too many irritating mechanical noises, loud interior, subpar sound system, stiff suspension etc. From a purely build standpoint the two cars are really not comparable. The R8+ is in a different league IMO. I've had the RS4, RS5 and the RS7 and loved them all. I figure the R8 is a can't miss.......we will see.

My RS7 is a Stage I APR car. I ran a 10.8 @ 127 on pumped gas. I agree that the RS7 has more grunt (torque) but the R8 is just a different beast. I just picked up the R8 yesterday and put about 50 miles on the odometer. I have to bow to Audi for making this car very unique and special. The V10 produces amazing sounds and incredible speeds while the interior materials and virtual cockpit create a exceptional driving environment. I want to say that the R8+ stock is a tick or two faster than a Stage I RS7 in a straight line (car mags post R8 times of 10.6 @130).

That is a stunning garage. I drove the R8 at an Audi Experience event and I could not own one. I would be in and out of jail cause of traffic offenses.
