Whining First gear Dual Clutch

Anyone else get some whining in 1st gear from 0-15 mph? Just started noticing this a few weeks ago in a 2018 S6.

Mine whines 1st and 2nd, at very kow RPM... Im out of warranty, but when i took it to the dealership, they said i need a new trans. No other extensive explanation... so if you are under warranty, do that. If not, then keep rolling...

I had this whine in my 2016 S6, up to 12mph in 1st and 2nd gear only obviously can't check other gears since it's too low of a speed. Started after a very violent LC experience, some wheel hop involved. Trans was replaced by Audi, they couldn't resolve it any other way with calibrations or fluid changes. Was replaced through factory warranty.

Yep, was Stage 3 APR with TCU. Tune didn't do it, it was the wheel hop on LC. I had already parted out the car back to stock and drove it like that for 5-6 months before taking the car in for regular service and mentioned the noise in passing to the Service Advisor. Wasn't expecting them to replace it and was surprised it was not flagged TD1.

Mine does it too in 1st and 2nd gear between 7-12 mph. Don't remember when it started or if it was there from day one. Other than being annoying, I have not noticed any negative impact. Since I'm out of warranty, I have no plans getting it fixed.

Ugh... so had it been tuned and then put back to stock or were you running tune the whole time thinking the thing was a beast stock?

The sound is so faint I have no idea if it was happening in other gears, the 12mph thing is common across those of us that have had this so unsure if it's a synchro or something to do with the pre-selector.

Lol, i would say it was a beast. But yeah never put back to stock, since didnt know it even had a tune on it.

widebodyfx avoided TD1 because he flashed back to stock and drove the car around for a couple months. Do this and you'll be safe but sometimes it's not possible after a failure so it's a risk for all who have a warranty and tune their car.
