LOL, our cars are twins. Ride height pictured is auto mode before lowering. New ride height in Dynamic is 23mm lower. Only pic I have.
Awesome! So clean looking and the hight isn't that bad. I think I will lower it just a little and maybe see what spacers I need to flush it up. 5mm might do it all round. And yes we now have the exact same car now.

I'm probably going to go with the basser box since it fits in so nice and doesn't take up space. I have a jbl gt5 sitting here new in the box. 91db and 14mm of excursion. The only down side is it's 4 ohm but it sounds like guys are running the 4 ohm jl's off their b&o.

How the heck can I delete stored radio preset channels in the MMI? I know how to overwrite existing presets with a new one, but I want to just delete a preset?

So I just washed the car and noticed that the rear wheel well inner liner at the bottom isn’t sitting flush. I’ve not noticed them like this before, are others like this and if not how would I go about getting them to sit flush. I guess the only issse with them been like this is it allows rocks to get in to the bottom side skirts under the doors.
Also I had the engine cover off and noticed a warning saying the engine cover must be fitted before driving the car, what would be the reasoning behind this requirement.

I have the Basser box with a JL 10 and JL 500/1 amp, it booms pretty well with hip hop. Adding an amp later is easy in case you don't get enough power from the stock amp.

I wouldn't worry about the wheel liners. They're not held in by screws or anything in that spot so that's just how it is.

Your plastic engine cover has heat shielding on the bottom of it to deflect the heat downward. They say you could burn the paint on your hood without it.

After you lower the car with VCDS, are you still able to raise it up and back down to the lower setting using the options in the car? Or does it stay at this level until you reset it?

Lowering with VCDS will lower all settings equally. That means that you can still raise/lower the vehicle between different drive modes but if you lower it say 12mm in VCDS then all drive modes are 12mm lower.

This is why the CETE module is amazing. You can set ride height independent to each drive mode.

Hmm, well that's good to know and at least I can still raise it a little for any travel. Thanks for the info. Lots to learn with the new car...when it gets here that is.

Sooo .. is there a way to configure a one touch/click shortcut to jump back to CarPlay if you move out of it to, for example, Navigation? Clumsy to go back to Menu, move the cursor and click.

Should be on the overhead console and there should be two of them IIRC. The dark felt circles near the driver overhead light and the passenger overhead light.

I still can't figure out why a car that was $142,000 new doesn't have CarPlay in 2016 and the $32000 volkswagen I bought in 2014 (2015 model) had it. That is bothering me more then anything else about this car. Added a 12" sub today off the factory amp, now it rumbles! I wish I could add an amp to the interior speakers and make them louder but keep the same sound. Just higher volume but every car audio shop around don't want to touch that. I sold car audio for many years, we would always add an amp after a factory amp. Use an audio control piece and bring the signal back to a line level and boost it back up. Anyone done this? Sorry, rambling. But my question is; why does my bang and olufsen not have separate subwoofer controls? I have seen forums talk about activating certain things like that with vcds? Is that possible? Is it hidden somewhere that I just cant find? It is driving me crazy! Heat issues fixed also from a post above last week. They replaced flapper motor and some valve. They told me water pump was leaking but some valve maybe by the water pump? Or that is what Audi calls it on the paperwork? Anyways, if someone knows why no separate sub control or where to find it and turn it on for a 2016 B&O system that would be great! Thanks!

I don’t know why it doesn’t have separate sub control either.

Yes the audio control lci2 is what people will typically use to patch into the system and add an amp.

I’d like to find out the video hack as well. Not sure when I’d use it but why not!

Also, did you use a 4 or 8 ohm sub with the stock b&o amplification?

That's a great question? German ECU engineers/ code writers are better than Americans? But seriously it's a good question. I do know with ABT and MTM they replace the ECU hardware, not just a flash. It' also costs more. With APR, it's pulleys, belt and flash.

4 ohm. I don’t want to chance blowing up the amp with 2 ohms. It moves the sub really well. I’m surprised actually! Probably due to the efficiency of it. Check our the specs...

ABT has a direct link to Audi, they get "some" help from Audi so do I think they CAN do a better job? yes... but they need to stay on the safe side for warranty issue's.
ABT give full factory warranty with their tuning, that is offcourse a huge benefit over others even when running 700 bhp in the RS cars...

That doesn't make APR and others bad... not at all.

Does anyone have a link and part number for grille inserts to cover the plate holes for a 2018 Audi S6? Dealer said $428. So I want to find some that are less but the same product.

Edit: Item 11 is the insert. Hope this helps someone else that wants to fix theirs with holes. The picture looks off on the site but it shows my year, make and model so.

Question for piggyback owners (or anyone that help answer this question)...

My '17 A7 CPO is still under warranty, so I'm seriously considering a (Chipwerke) piggyback until I can go Stage 1.

Assuming all of my service work is done at an AD, do I need to remove the unit every time? Let's say, for example, i forget to take it out before bringing it in for service. Could the AD make note that I have one and void the remainder of my warranty?

Ideally, you'll want to remove it 150 miles before any dealer service. Even removing it can still get you flagged if you have a check engine light / fault log that shows the engine operating out of spec.

Thought I asked this already, but search says no.

Is there any way to configure a "one click" button to quickly return to the CarPlay view? Right now if you leave the CarPlay view it seems you have to go to menu, scroll to CarPlay and press to get back to it?

Curious if it might be possible stock or with an OBD tool perhaps.

Read thru the entire thread and haven't seen this one...

The fan speed on the climate control automatically self-adjusts no matter what based on my previous setting. Say, for instance, it's cold outside and your temp is set to 65 and fan speed manually set to 1 (for example's sake, let's say it "wants" to be 2 for automatic). Now, if you were to adjust the temp to 80 the fan speed would crank (automatically) up to 8+, meaning you have to, once again, manually reduce the fan speed to 1 .

Is there any way to prevent the automatic fan speed adjustment? And yes, it is not set to "Auto" for climate control. I want to manually control it.

And one more that has been posted but no one has commented...Is there a way to change the "default" dash view mode on start up? As everyone says, it always reverts to Trip when you turn on the computer no matter what the setting when it turned off (i.e. from Navigation at "off" it will start at "trip").

I’ve said it before (possibly here somewhere).. Our effin’ cars are like disobedient children - you keep telling them “No!” and yet they keep doing the same shit. Or in the cases you point out, they keep pissing you off by doing shit that you don’t want them to.. I really don’t understand what the software engineers were thinking. So frustrating. Yet my 69 dollar Nespresso machine can learn that I prefer a short pull and stay there on start up.. 🤷🏻*♂️

Along these lines.. sorta.. Why the f__ did they not put a single button to switch on and off the dash monitor??!? The spot opposite the radio power/volume knob is open and would be perfect! And it would have made the console more symetrical at the same time. But instead, to shut it off I have to 1) go to ‘Car’, 2) ‘Setup’ 3) hit the bottom left quadrant.. and then 4) press ‘select’. Grrrrr

It's doing what it's designed to do. You set the cars temp to 80, it's going to what it knows to do to get the inside of the car to 80. Then will adjust as needed automatically to keep it there.

If I set it to Auto I would agree. But it's trying too hard, or thinking the user doesn't know what he wants.

Is there anyway to increase how many miles are left when the refuel message pops up?

The remaining fuel mileage is always displayed in the top-left display in the instrument cluster.

Correct. I'd like to increase that, mine comes on with around 30 miles left and would rather 60.

Strange, mine is always there. I guess that change is one made on the 2016+ models. Yours is 2014 and does not always show the remaining mileage?

No, mine displays mileage remaining in upper left corner like normal. I'd just like my refuel notice to come on earlier than ~30 miles remaining.

Give yourself better MPG??? It turns on with 2 gallons left, I believe. So if you can manage 30 mpg then your problem is solved :)

Haha, I get 21mpg per tank, but still turns on around 30 miles. Just one of those things where I'd rather get the notification sooner to fill up before getting too low.

Fill it up at half tank. Anything under a quarter tank isn't good for the fuel pumps anyway.

Exactly the reason I'd like to increase the notification to come on sooner, though I wasn't sure if the same school of thought applies to the Audi like domestic cars. With my carbon paddle extenders, it makes it hard to see the gas gauge so I usually don't know until it notifies me.

I'm not sure of any way to do that but if you have VCDS, Ross tech support can tell you for sure.
