As stated in my other post where I saw some rust on my subframe (looks like surface but wanted opinions) I also have a P0456 code. Should I just go ahead and replace the G400 NVLD pressure sensor? If so I don't see any OEM manufacturers to buy the part from and brand new is $276. Am I ok just to buy a used NVLD switch from eBay (8K0906253N revision N) since it is still the latest revision (Old TSB quotes revision E, latest TSB quotes J) and used breather line filter (4G0201997BD revision BD)? My ECU is running software version number 0010 so it seems to be pretty up to date and past the TSB quotes 0005 or higher just to do an NVLD switch and filter replacement.

Got another dumb question. What results have we found for the best way to coat the crash bar when installing an RS grille? I’ve heard everything from three layers of black paint to truck bed liner and plastidip. What’s the least resistant to chips and peeling?

I used black high heat BBQ/appliance spray paint.

Plastidip is holding fine for me 4+ years later with almost no surface prep.

I used the rocker panel undercarriage spray on my last S6 with zero prep....has some chipping, but not enough to worry.

Im using High Heat VHT Valve Cover paint this time....expecting nearly the same results

you can get a "Wrap" done but I dont see the point

So my 19 Q7 has headlight and night vision camera washers. I didn't know that until my wife said she saw a mist in the front of the car one day. I got all excited and hopped in my 16 A6 and nothing. Does anyone know if the A6 has headlight washers, and if so, how do I use them? Please keep in mind that I live in the United States. I don't know if features are different.

Also, in some cars if the washer fluid tank isn’t full, it will eliminate washing the headlights before it runs out of fluid.

I read my owners manual, and it stated that when low beams were on and windshield cleaning was activated that headlight cleaning should activate automatically. I just tried for about 10 minutes, and now it looks like a smurf was murdered in my driveway, and I can confirm that it did not work. Either it's broken or my car doesn't have it. I have the S line. Well. it typically has had 2 pumps but I'm not sure if it has 2 fuses. PN looks like 4g8955451k because I think I see two pumps. I see others reservoirs that don't have two pumps. I think it can also be coded out because some people don't like it.

I've owned the car since 12k miles, so there's a small chance it was coded out, maybe. You also live in Canada, though, right?

Will those covers pop off and not damage it if I just pull back like you did? My front bumper does have those covers. Unless every bumper has those covers.

Believe every bumper has them, I've never looked at how the non washers stay in place though. Just looked at my various photos from grille swaps and I didn't capture anything at those areas on the backside.

I had them in my B5 A4 and it had next to no options. Metallic flake paint, $600 and sport steering wheel $600 was it.

The only time I've seen them not work is they were disconnected when the car was worked on, removed because the bumper was replaced due to a fender bender, programmed to not work, disconnected and capped because my buddy hated them, upper pump was disconnected or failed, fluid level wasn't high enough, fluid was leaking out of gasket on upper pump so the level was constantly too low.

I don't think the headlight washer is tied to the headlight type.

Was there a revision for the wastegates? I have a 2013 S6 and my wastegates actuators are a straight rod with ball joints connecting to the wastegates with a lever. When looking for a replacement, I’m finding them to look different at online stores and some engine bay pictures of curved actuator rods and the ends just screwing into the wastegates instead. I’m wondering if they were revised later on because of the issue I’m having in which the ball joint broke off.

Edit: so there was a revision at some point. Can use either or. I bought the latest version which screws directly into the diaphragm.

Got two questions here:

1. Filled my 2012 A6 3.0T up with gas and started up. Ran fine and about 3 - 5 seconds later, for what felt like 1/4 to 1/2 a second the engine stumbled a tiny bit. Plugged in my OBDeleven, connected to the ECU but couldn't find anything regarding misfires in the ECU Live Data tab. Am I missing something? On my B8 allroad, I could see misfires/1,000 revolutions for each cylinder, total misfires/1,000 revolutions, as well as total misfires for each cylinder since the engine was made.

2. While I was looking for the misfires in the list of available data values, I did find STFT and LTFT. Heres what I got
STFT Bank 1: 4.7%
LTFT Bank 1: -12.5%
STFT Bank 2: 0.0%
LTFT Bank 2: -9.4%

Only mod I have is a CTS cold air intake. I just replaced my NVLD switch and the NVLD filter due to a P0456 code and diagnosis. Never logged my STFT and LTFT prior to this so idk if it was like this before I replaced it. I haven't ever gotten a "Too Lean" nor a "Too Rich" code either but did notice these fuel trims. Is this normal?

Wanted to bump regarding my last post. Ignore the fuel trims, seems it was something right after gassing up, and LTFT and STFT are in their +/- 10%. Again though I am not able to access misfires to any cylinder in OBDeleven. Is this something with OBDeleven (those that use it)?

Also I'm getting water in my front passenger-side headliner. I tried using some weed wacker line but it was too thin and barely did anything. I did the front tubes from the top and the rear tubes from the rear fender well by removing the fender liner. Does anyone have better tools to clean the tubes, I don't have any compressed air and heard it could possible blow the drain tube off the sunroof frame's nipple. I can order the official VAS snake tube part for $20 but it'll take 4 weeks to arrive, so looking for something I could pick up from the hardware store or whatever.

not that I have seen, but its just connections and wires underneath...I want to get the EDM piano black center trim piece just to swap the MMI controls from one side to the other as well

I do know that the S8 guys HAVE swapped the center consoles trim pieces over to accommodate this, which is what gives me hope

S7 OEM turbos with 45 kmiles..

There a chip at one of the feedline [only 1 turbo] when they were removed from the car.

No rubbing or binding when spinning.

Àre these still serviceable?
If so there free to anyone interested.

Which it does. HOWEVER, when my 9 year old son got in the passenger seat- he said "dad, Why is my seat vibrating?"

There is no Control for massage chair's either on the seat itself, or through the MMI. I searched HI and LOW for access to the massage function through VCDS, with no luck. (old school unlimited HEX-CAN cable)

Why, does my passenger seat ventilate/massage when the ventilation switch is triggered, but NOT my driver seat?

Who knows which module the adaptation ACTUALLY falls under? Did original owner have driver turned off? Did he somehow Add function to passenger.

Truthfully, I couldn't care less if the car has the feature or not. But if it is equipped and isn't functioning, my OCD will require me to fix it.

Sounds like you may have an unbalanced/broken fan on you passenger seat ventilation. The "comfort" seats I have don't vibrate when the massage function is activated.

My mount is bad and I’m gonna replace both. Is it worth considering getting the 034 mounts instead of OEM?

oem mounts are prone to the same failure. 034 mounts would only be subjective to wear. I've seen people post about replacing oem mounta again 20-30k miles later
