What size socket is the front brake caliper bolts? Non of my sockets fit this damn thing and I just want to put the ceramic pads on.

Also, for the lug bolt caps on the stock wheels. Are they the grey or silver ones?

I don't think that bolt pictured is the correct bolt to remove the caliper, I think that bolt holds the caliper together and you should not remove those or the caliper will split

Look on the back side for little plastic caps in rubber covering a Allen head or torx head slider pin bolt I don't remember doing brakes on any audi that new so I'm not sure exactly but usually the correct bolts are on the backside of the caliper....btw there is no stupid questions it's best to ask if you don't know, it's easier to f it up than it is to fix it better safe than sorry

The 2 weird bolts on the front calipers require a special socket to remove the caliper from the carrier, you can get the assembly off the spindle at the carrier with a regular tool.

It's the same PN on ECS and shows a silver and grey but both labeled grey. I'll just get the one that looks like mine I guess. Lol

If you are just swapping pads do not remove the bolt in the picture you sent. You remove the two 21mm stretch bolts and take the entire caliper off. You’ll then want to reuse the shims (otherwise they are silly expensive). There are a couple good diy threads — the factory manual also has some good info.

    Good luck!

Thanks man. I haven't changed Audi brakes for a few years and forgot. They're changed now and ready to go.

What differences in tuning options are there for a Gen2 3.0T Motor with the bolt on pulley vs the older press on style? I have a 2016 A6 with the 3.0T and I believe I have the newer style. Someone I spoke to yesterday mentioned that Unitronic doesn't have a Stage II with pulley upgrade option for that due to the pulley difference? Anyone know if that is true? Quick searches seem like the only tuning options is APR with the newer pulley style.

Thanks in advance! I am new to all of this :)

Thanks. It wouldn’t allow access to the set up screen with the key in the on position so I thought it was looking in the wrong place. Once I started the car the set up menu was no longer greyed out.

Why does the mmi dial go backwards from what I want?! I fly and it makes no sense that turning the dial is inverted from what it should be! Does this bother anyone else? Is there a way to change it that I can’t find? My rs3 was the same way

I thought I was the only one as nobody has ever brought it up! It drives me crazy!! Why did my 2015 $32000 gti have touchscreen and CarPlay but a 2016 $142000 car new has this archaic crap?! My daily is a 17 golf R that’s for sale so not driving but I went to wash it the other day and forgot how nice that setup is. Very disappointed with so much in the rs7. For a premium car I think I may have built it up in my head too much before buying.

You guys know that you're driving a car that the interior was designed some time around 2012? The next gen should be coming out soon and have all those techie comfort features if that's what you want. IMO the RS7 doesn't need the next gen tech to be a great car and I don't want anymore touch screens in my life. Touch screens are miserable to use for controlling a vehicle in motion. Just my .02

When you lower the car 15mm, are you able to adjust the parking sensors so they account for the new drop?

Also, how do you adjust the headlights for this drop?

I'm just thinking about how much tech this thing has on it and maybe it accounts for it on it's own since I used VCDS to lower the 15mm's.

The interior of the C7 and C7.5 are identical so I bet it fits and instructions should be interchangeable between the two.

Parking sensors no, but i wouldn't want to since it might help detect a tall curb. Mine seem to work fine after lowering -22mm with the CETE module.

The headlights are adjusted with a white plastic screw on the top of the physical headlight. Try not to over adjust it. Turning it too far in either direction could cause problems. You'll want the car facing a flat surface about 30ft away while adjusting. What appears to be a good height at 10ft ends up being in oncoming traffic's eyes at 30ft+. Don't be that guy.

I see them now. They're way behind the light and I know not to raise them way high like a dick. Lol

I had to raise them on the last car when I dropped it but that was 1.2" so it needed it, this is close to .5" so it shouldn't need much.

Is there an answer to stop the ANNOYING climate control from self adjusting when it’s NOT on “auto”???

Totally agree and it seems no one else has the same complaint. I just never want it above 4.

My little cup holder swingy door thing is broke. It wiggles around with a lot of free play and once "latched" it is very difficult to push it in and unlatch it.

In order to replace the cup holder and door assembly, does the whole center console need to come out? Or can it be done through the shifter/controls area?

I just picked up a 2018 A6, and wanted to make sure I got everything that I'm supposed to get with the car. For example, the dealer didn't have the second key fob, and only when I asked for it did they say they had ordered one for me because it was missing. It was also missing the all weather floor mats, and front filler panel until I asked for it. Are there other things I should look for?

If it was new, go by the window sticker and yes you get 2 keyfobs and valet key. If preowned, then you may not get everything.

Yeah they didn't give me the plastic/valet key but I never used it on my Q5 when I had it. Guess I probably should ask for it. Thanks!

Not a question but a statement of stupidity: I’ve had my 2018 S6 for a year and just realized waving my foot under the rear diffuser will open the truck hands-free. <face palm>
