    Sam's A7 Build Thread

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
I've had the car for a couple years now and I've no just begun to add some personal touches to it. I've been on the board for a while and have built a few other Audi

Below are a few of the other Audi I've built

    Build 1
    2003 Audi B6 A4

    Build 2
    2002 Atlas Grey B6 A4 Avant

    Build 3
    2010 Ibis White Audi B8 A4

    Build 4
    2003 Nardo Grey B6 A4 Avant

I'm not sure where I going with this current A7 but so far I've changed the wheels and the suspension. I generally personalize my car extremely quickly but I've since learned that it makes want to get rid of the car much sooner. On the A7 I added wheels 1 year later, and now most recently I've added suspension, now a little over 2 years into ownership.

The day I got the 7

How the 7 sat for a year

Then a year into ownership I added the wheels and some spacers

And now that I've added the suspension a little 2 years after ownership

Well done being able to hold out for a year.

Car looks good. Are you considering any ECU modifications yet?

I lasted 14 days, before swapping out the steering wheel on my S7 for an RS flat bottomed one

It looks like you removed the suspension, not added one. But it's your car.

How do you like that flat bottom steering wheel ?

To each their own. I like it. Although I will add that it does not ride as good as the stock suspension. I still have some dialing in to do with the dampening and the pressure.

I plan on changing going APR Stage 2 with the pulley once I begin to get bored with the car again. The wheels were transferred over from my B8 A4. They are Interad Martini wheels 20x9 Front and 20x10 Rear.

Its much better then the round one thats standard on the UK build.

Ive gone Standard (round, smooth) -->RS Flat Bottomed (perforated) -->Custom Carbon Flat Bottom.

The carbon one is just exquisite to use. The wheel is thicker than the RS Flat Bottomed, and the perforated leather sections are perfectly contoured to the shape of your hand grip.

The carbon pattern is a perfect match to the Audi carbon trim, and although the carbon has a gloss finish, its actually comfortable to grip when you need to, without slipping in your hands

PS I had the RS Flat bottomed in my A7 (now gone) That was much better than the standard A7 wheel!

I just do not get the slammed look on these cars. The stretched tires make it even worse.

But if you want to make your $60k high performance German sedan look like a $2k 1989 VW Passat on cut springs (and perform like it) hey, go for it.

Thanks for your input and opinion. I don't necessarily agree with the comparison to $2k VW Passat. If have never ridden in a car with air suspension you should, It might change your opinion.

Although my car was not built to please you, this is a forum so all comments are welcomed.

Looks a little odd aired out. I don't get the attraction of that look on a car of this type, however I do get that some folks are into it. That said, I definitely think that some cars are more suited to "the look" than others.
Boris... why always Boris? You come at the king you best not miss. I dont know nobody named Barksdale B. My name is my name! You Mcnulty, are a gaping as#$%^le. Another update for those who are considering the RS7 treatment for your A7. It literally changes the entire look of the car. Yes, I know it literally does.

On another note we can squeeze 20x11" wheels under our wheel arches. This setup is way to aggressive for me but it will work for now.
