UroTuning Metal Coolant Flange for the B5 1.8T

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
I'm not sure why there hasn't been talk of this yet, seeing as UroTuning is currently the B5 A4 Forum Sponsor.

I don't know how to get one yet, but more here:

Kinda mad since I just rigged up a 2.7tt flange on my sedan last year, but I did relocate the pipe underneath the intake mani.

But this is definitely winning. Will get one for the avant when it is released.

Bogus, i'm actually in the process of having one (10 actually) made for the under manifold setup, but it would be barbed like the B6 flange.

Part of me thinks that this is all a hoax and that photo is just a $5 aftermarket plastic flange with some silver spray-paint on it.

Why would UroTuning not at least have a thread drumming up interest in these, if it's real? I mean, they are literally the sponsor of our forum.

That's probably what it is to help promote the idea and advertise. I have a hard time believing someone from UroTuning would start that thread and not be serious about it. Hopefully in a few days i'll have a prototype in my hands of the ones we're fabricating. Not sure we'll do a B5 setup though, not looking to long-run produce these, so hopefully UroTuning pulls through.

I'm mostly joking. Seems odd that they made a thread asking if anybody is interested in the B6 flange, but that B5 flanges are already in the works (and we've heard nothing about it). I would think it would be the other way around: green light the B6 flange, and then see if there is still enough interest in the [admittedly] dwindling B5 community to make it worthwhile. The B6 version is the easier part to make, anyway. It has one less critical mating interface on it.

For those doing my (or your own) undermount coolant conversion use the B6 flange (if they end up making it). Do not get the B5 flange regardless of plastic or billet.

If a guy tried hard enough, he could use the b6 flange and a modified b6 coolant crossover pipe. Wouldnt be that hard

Why bother with a hard pipe at all, use b6 flange and a hose under the intake mani. No?

I would like to see a company make a silicone hose that connects from the B6 flange to the radiator, along with all the other coolant connections.

UroTuning Metal Coolant Flange for the B5 1.8T

INA has them for cheaper $50 iirc. Not sure how much shipping from Canada would cost though

No import fees into the US. Same as shipping across the US, I would assume. USPS flat rate?

There's no United States Postal Service in Canada. lol

If we ship to Canada we can send USPS, but you can't receive USPS from Canada.

Too bad I replaced mine a few months back since the previous owner's shop "replaced it" when they broke it but they just fixed it with JB weld. Not surprised why it was always dripping.

just saying if you buy this it quite rough and needs some bad casting broken off from the inside so the engine doesnt ingest it.

Thanks! Just bought 3 of them!

And these will fit all B5 1.8T engines. Yes, there is a different part number for AEB/ATW vs the AWM flange (the split does not correspond with the 99.5 interior/exterior facelift). That change is actually not important for the North American market. The sole difference is in the parts is 1 sensor port vs 2 sensor ports. And all North American B5 1.8T's only use one sensor. So you can use the single port AWM flange for all years of the B5 1.8T in North America. This results in less parts (plugs, o-rings, clips) and less potential leak points.
^Don't listen to this guy, he's not even a mechanic.
