    Hey there...had to put my avant out of service and raped it for my sedan cuz the sedan is a stick. Anyways is there a cheap mods thread..? Searched for one and couldnt find it..also looking for go faster parts cai, exhaust, downpipe/test pipe, clutch etc...shifter is sloppy which i can deal with for a little while but its not a smooth shift from say 1st to 2nd..and ideas and suggestions are much appreciated..

    Muffler delete, test pipe, tuned ecu, diverter valve. There is a "sloppy shifter" thread about 10 threads below this one.

    The avant is an automatic with 239k on it where as the sedan is a stick with 212k on it.

    Manual swap the Avant haha I'm just messing with you, because the Avants are usually preferred over the sedans haha.

    Very true. lord knows i still want an avant. The only real 'cheap' mod that i know of is a manzo test pipe since its less than $80. I run one myself and I know _King does as well.

    And yes, DIY is the best!

    cheap mods, the ebay test pipe and a kompresd tune. 350$ for a good bump in power

    Are you really working under that car with that jack and nothing else to support it? If you are I would highly suggest writing your will and make sure your life insurance is paid up and it covers things like this.

    Save it. Its fucking green. Plus both are high mileage.
    I was worried someone stripped a good avant for a sedan was getting pitchfork ready

    Whats wrong with green...? There both in good shape but as previously stated the avant is an automatic...and i prefer a 5 speed...

    Not really i just pulled the knuckle off of it..Plus it sat just like this for almost a month and nothing happened. I was surprised that the jack didnt collapse or bend at all..

    Literally nothing. It was an imoound that my boss wanted to get rid of and i took it. Its not as bad as it looks in the pictures. Has 2 misfires (my guess is because it sat for so long), the camber on the passenger side is exponentially off (which throws me all over the road in a snow storm) and it needs a femder and headlight (which i will just swap off my avant).

    nothing wrong with green its my favorite color for these cars. what color is avant? if its not silver i would 5speed swap it using a real jack and stands.
    x200 on that oem jack being a death sentence. first think to do when i get a vw/audi is toss the oem jack.

    also not to be "that" guy but please use jack stands in future. no jack is meant to hold up the car for extended periods. just don't want you to get hurt or dead.

    Ive already swapped parts from the avant to my sedan. And the avant is green also and has the 2.8 30v. How hard woukd it be to swap the 01a (i think it is) from the sedan to the wagon?

    its a semi mission. time and space+ and tools are the main things.

    also a 1.8t trans on 2.8 motor gearing will be shorter.
    better to find a 2.8 trans or full 1.8t 5speed donor car for avant.

    Yep and vise versa with v6 trans in 1.8t.
