Well say hello to my second b5. Clean!!

Don't know if any of you knew I sold my old b5 that I built and heavily regret it. I picked up a b6 s4 and put a motor in it and did timing chain service then it dropped a valve. I liquidated the b6. Never again. Anyhow picked this gem up last week, radiator fan fell apart took out radiator. Got a deal. Had a radiator at the house from other b5 I parted out and fan. Installed parts along with temp sensor and thermo and it's good to go!! 141k. Man this thing is clean!! Welp let the fun begin again. Here it is in all of its stock glory.

I was so sick about the situation I did not really troubleshoot to find the cause of the dropped valve. My friend did buy the s4 from me and he removed all salvage parts from the engine and transferred to another block, he got it going agian. Hope he sells it while he can.

I think you found the last non-torn driver's leatherette seat in North America. It looks like all of the pixels still work in the cluster, even!

Yay. Car runs excellent from what I can tell. Chain tensioner? I'll pull the cover off and set tdc check out the cam timing.

I reset the code and have driven about 30 miles and it has not reappeared. I have noticed previous oil change was completed at walmart and the sticker says 10w-30. I was plan on changing that and throwing some rotella in there asap anyhow. Also need to pull the valve cover off and check for sludge and inspect timing chain and tensioner.

Crap came back. Yeah hoping his weekend I can get the valve cover off and inspect everything and change the oil. Code comes back on once engine is warm and oil has thinned out a bit

finally got around to inspection. Appears timing belt is off by one tooth. This has me baffled because the car is running pretty good with no missing and is buttery smooth. Welp I'll just try to adjust that belt by one tooth and see where timing ends up.

First 3 pics the cam is lined up with tdc marks however the crank doesn't. Real hard to see the notch is about an inch to the left of its mark. Cam pics is with the crank lined up to tdc marks.

Also put some T6 in her, I love it when you change the oil and the Placebo effect you feel that your car is running so much better afterwards. It makes me feel better that the wal mart junk is outta there. Have not had the 1340 code appear afterwards. I still will put the timing correct when I get a chance.

So can get a great deal on a set of wheels they are 17s with 38 offset I'm curious on just offset though. Tires are 225/45. Also my st coilovers arrived. Here are The wheels

Offset will be close to stock. I personally would add a 10/15mm spacer though depending on how low you go to make them more flush (I hate that word.. kids these days ruined it).

When cam shaft to timing marks don't like up, I would personally remove your cam pulley and inspect it. Things like this can happen.

It is good to be back! Yeah I noticed that after reading up on it, I was getting the code earlier, ever since I changed the walmart crap out (bet it was their bulk 5w30 PO had in it) no more code! Guessing oil pressure is greater now and better effect on chain tensioner.

I used locktite on them and installed via double nut method.

I bought my stud setup from Mike Hood at ringer-racing. 2.5" length, but I got the ones that are m14 to thread into the hub and then narrow down to m12, along with both cone and ball seat nuts so I can run 5x112 and 5x114.

Picked the wheels up along with some ST coil overs! Gonna wait a couple weeks for better weather to install. Been tossing the idea around cutting out stock resonator and or muffler and putting in place a vibrant resonator. I am no means trying to make this thing obnoxious like my last b5 (3' back through magnaflow round) just want a nice mellow tone and obviously free up a couple horse power.

Well got to work on the Audi after work today. Installed test pipe installed APR stage 1 installed forge dv some 7 spark plugs. Took for test drive. Boost spikes to 15 then falls on its face down to 6 or so then all over the place. Going to troubleshoot in morning. Maybe the forge I got needs some attention it was used, came with the APR ecu I assumed the appropriate spring was in it.

did you regrese the forge? I would do that if not. yellow spring iirc.
