Looks Great Pat, Daytona is one of my favorite colors and will probably be on my next Audi.
As for the paddles, many different options are avaible to extend them including adding OEM ones, but OEM is a big premium to pay.
For the Lip and valance you could wrap them instead of painting
Me and BK purchased our LEDs off Ebay and they work great! So cheap that if one even goes out you could buy a whole other pack and it would still be cheaper then what some of these vendors are charging.
Wherever you take you car to be tinted, make sure they cover the amp in the back. Many people have had fried amps because water dripped down on them from the inside glass.

LED interior lighting was the first mod - super easy as mentioned.

Tint done with 35% on sides and the back glass at 20%. It's actually perfect IMO for NJ driving and with a dark headliner.

LEDs were done right away. As you said - super easy.

I have looked for a while and still can't find a paddle solution I like. Going to hold off longer and see what Audi does with their wheel in future releases. I definitely won't use the stick-ons, they never have the proper "feel".

As for the exhaust upgrade, I spent months searching for the right system. Heard AWE, Milltek, Akro, Capristo in person. Went with Capristo and it's without a doubt the best mod I have made on any car I've owned. Changes the nature of the car completely and I can't imagine a better sound than this mixture of both engine revving and exhaust tone combined. Amazing.

I simply give it rinse, then soak in APC (simple green or Adams), let sit for a few minutes, maybe wet a little, then agitate with a brush, sock whatever. Rinse down, blow it and crank it up to cook off the residual water.

Thanks Nate! Been eye-balling your setup for a long while now... love the photography as well.

Too bad HRE are so ridiculously expensive, otherwise I'd have them for my summer wheels. I think the BBS CI-R is a pretty comparable look (even if not the same build quality) though. I hope when all is said and done, I will achieve the "look" I am going for.

Installed V1 (hard-wired to fuse box) myself. Not difficult with soft pry tools.



The detector is pretty much invisible from outside car or when standing at the driver side window. Still have use of the visor as well. Came out great.

Cleaner may do it with some rubbing. I use this on my vehicles...

I believe those ovals are stainless. If they are, Barkeeper's Friend works real well.

I use fine steel wool first then hit it with some mothers alum mag polish to give it a nice shine.

Works wonders.

For my black tips (inside and out), I use Chemical Guys Green Clean along with Adam's Waterless Wash. Gets the real nasty stuff off pretty quick. Works great and I'm sure it's safe for your SS tips.

Seriously, this stuff is the best. It's a wadded polish, you cannot scratch metal with Nevr Dull. It gets everything off, even deposits. I use a small piece to clean all four tips, and then go back with a microfiber towel to remove any residue. Takes 5 minutes to make tips look like new.

Bumping this thread to say thanks to its contributors, specifically dropshadow in my case. I picked up a can of Nevr-Dull and went to town on my badly carbon-coated AWE exhaust tips. It took me more than the 5 minutes stated by dropshadow but this was also the first time I tried using an actual polishing product on these tips after ~2 years of use. Up until now I have been adhering to AWE's "soap and water" recommendation but finally gave up. Soap and water literally don't cut it for this job.

I spent probably 15-20 minutes on each tip and removed them from the car to make them easier to clean, as well as to avoid getting any polishing compound on the rear valence. It removed most of the carbon deposits on the outside surface with ease, with exception being the trail of carbon concentrated at bottom dead center of the tips....but that faces the ground so I'm not too concerned. I wore rubber gloves because this stuff appears/smells to be somewhat volatile. The carbon buildup on the insides of the tips is another story....some of it came off after vigorous rubbing, some of it remained and seems to be very tenacious. I also purchased some Barkeeper's Friend powder so I may give that a try later this week.

EDIT: Keeping in the spirit of the original intent of this thread, I cannot comment on whether or not this is a safe approach to keeping the tips clean. I have the silver (chrome?) finish AWE tips so I cannot speak for the Diamond Black finish. Mine were so dirty and I was so frustrated with the soap+water approach that I was ready to buy new tips anyway, so in my specific situation even if the Nevr-Dull ruined the silver finish over time (which I do not think will be the case), it wouldn't put me in any worse situation than I am currently.

Also, when I removed the bulk of the carbon buildup I noticed some unusual radial lines on the end of each tip on the bottom, let's say 30 degrees from center in both directions. I'll snap some photos at lunch and post them up here.

In the efforts of posting some RS5 Capristo exhaust clips, I mounted a GoPro in the car (no problem) except the sound quality is horrible.

Can anyone recommend a good mic setup to go along with the GoPro ?

I want to record the sound from INSIDE the car while driving normally, enthusiastically, on highways in comfort, and through long tunnels. There are enough videos on YouTube to hear the revving and startup.

Works great, and fast too.

Followed by metal polish #2 for that extra shine.

After the initial cleaning, I have been just using Adam's all purpose cleaner every weekend to keep them clean.
