My A6 3.0T Avant

So, I finally snagged a 2010 A6 3.0T Prestige line. Fully loaded, with just 21k miles, it is a CPO also. More details later.

As far as mods go:
Done
- VagCom Tweaks (Needle sweep, taillight as DRL, increased DRL intensity, windows/sunroof open via keyfob, etc)
- Replaced Orange Side markers with A3 Clear Side Markers.
- Suspension upgrade (KW V1 Coilovers)
- Hoen Xenonmatch fog lights
- Interior LED lights Swap
- S-Line style Chrome side mirror cover (link)
- Drag DR37 18x8.5 ET37 wheels, YK580 Yokohama tires 245/40/18 (summet setup)

Yes, it is! Given that these low mileage 3.0T Avants don't pop up for sale very often, I had to close the deal real fast (plus had to visit Chicago for the very 1st time ). I took it for a spin this morning...wow!!! It drives really smooth. I do look forward to enjoying this car. The CPO coverage + the remaining factory warranty made it too sweet a deal to pass up on.

You're absolutely right..lol. My sales guy mentioned there were a couple customers calling (even after I placed a deposit for the car). Just another indicator of how long these cars stay on the lot. Ask me how I know..:).

Btw, there's a 2010 A6 Avant (Premium +) at Carmax East Haven CT, I test drove days ago. Low mileage also, but the color combo wasn't right for me ( dark blue exterior with tan interior) plus no back-up camera; just in case your friend is still looking.

I did a few vagcom modes today (Needle sweep, increased LED DRL brightness to 85%, enabled hidden menu, added battery level to MMI,) a couple more planned (windows via keyfob, tail lights to ROW setting). On another note, I found out I dont have power side mirrors. Quite weird given it is a Prestige trim with Convenience/Comfort packages. (My '07 Prem+ had it). This is the only feature it doesn't have. I am sure bcos I can't seem to move the knob all the way...and don't want to risk breaking it.

I forget to fold my mirrors 80% of the time lol. But I also almost never parallel park and always find a spot where I can snug the passenger side of the car up against a wall/non spot.

Interesting. ..makes me wonder how Audi decides what features to add/remove; I thought that was the whole idea about 'convenience'...smh. I looked up the Window stickers for both vehicles ('07 and '10), the Convenience/Comfort Package offerings differ slightly.

Well, now I always try to remember to fold-in the street-side mirror whenever I park or seek out that isolated parking spot on the lot..lol.

yea .. not an option on facelifted c6s... maybe s6 or 4.2 but am not sure.. if someone wanted them badly enough im sure they could be modded but to me thats just making too much effort
i believe there was a nice thread that came out on AW... about the time the facelift c6s came out where someone outline the differences

to keep cost low sometime they cut options they feel are least used or wont be missed... options like power fold mirrors, ski pass thru.. safety kit.. hazard triangle... full size spare etc

Wait huh? I have a full size stock 19" peeler as my spare. I'm sure it was OEM to the car as it looks untouched.

So, perhaps that is an ala carte option...not necessarily part of a package?

I did a couple more vagcom mods today (Auxiliary Ventilation ...link) which I couldn't enable on my '07 A6, probably because it didn't have the necessary hardware. By enabling the Auxiliary ventilation, the car will continue to run the vents for a set number of minutes even after you turn it off.

Also enabled remote operation (open/close) of windows and sunroof via keyfob. This was a bit tricky as I had to set parameters (for Closing) via a different section (not via the MMI). Next up is
- coding the rear LED tail lights as DRLs (same as the front LED), and hopefully setting it to ROW (Rest Of the World).
- disabling the front fog lights from turning on when Coming/Leaving Home is active; kind of nuisance when the LEDs are on (in my opinion).

we r not talking about auto tilting in reverse
we r talking about the whole assembly folding in for used for tight parking spaces etc and controlled by turning the switch at the inside door handle all the way down

If its any consolation my '13 RS5 doesn't have power folding mirrors or a spare of any kind lol

So I am looking at coilover options for my C6. A couple posts seem to suggest ST coilovers are "soft" (compared to struts + springs combo?). I had STs on my C5 Avant years ago...and they were quite firm; handling was great. I may get STs again along with rear swaybar. The other option I am looking at would be to go with HR Coilovers. I would appreciate some input/feedback on actual experience with these options. Thanks.

From my experience, the ST coils were softer for me than my stock + HR Springs..wouldn't be able to compare them with KW or HR as I haven't tried them.

I used to rub like crazy at the original height that they were set up (almost around the same height as when I just had the springs on), but increased it a bit and it seems to solve the problem for now.

I ended up ordering the BILSTEIN B12 Prokit based on good reviews. These seem to be a good compromise (though without fully adjustable damping system). Looking forward to the install.

I have those installed and i strongly recommend it! Ride quality is great and i've gain -30mm/-30mm equality both on front and in the back.

Coilovers came in this morning. I eventually went for KW V1s (B12s are on back order.) Install scheduled for this weekend.
