It's all good. Started stripping down the VR6 block looking at whats needed/needs to be done. One I have a couple of paychecks stacked up I'll drop it off at the machine shop to get hot tanked and new bearings/rods put in etc.

It's actually quite surprising to see how much it costs to build an actual VR6 block. Cheap. Adapters for transmission, flywheel, starter, IM, etc on the other hand are all MUCH MUCH more expensive.

Oh cool. As a whole, do you think it is cheaper to build a VR6 or a 2.7t so far?

As a WHOLE, 2.7. Doing 2.8L heads and rods is MUCH cheaper than doing a VR6 build because of the tuning and customization that needs to occur for a VR6 build.

2.7T Build:
- Turbos
- 2.8L heads (new valves, decking, etc)
- rods
- maybe a 3.0l build = 3.0L crank
- tune with your current ME7 setup or run custom map using stock ECU etc.

VR6 Build
- head
- bottom end (rods)
- custom fly wheel
- custom starter
- custom motor mounts
- custom IM
- Custom Manifold
- FULL Standalone Setup
- etc

Costs add up much quicker once you're actually trying to get the motor dropped in.

Thanks, in the midst of trying to sell my FMIC kit as I'd like to run my rebar meaning I'm looking into SMIC right now. And the cat's out of the bag, selling the secretive wheels I had for the AR as they were too small.

Sold the FMIC kit and now picked up the revised CXracing SMIC. I'll let everyone know how they work out and probably a diy for install including making your own shrouds.

So updates, contemplating selling the car, but the more I look at AR's the more I doubt I'll be selling it. Black interior swap will be happening within the next week or so and I just ordered new headliner suede. It's going to be either a love it or hate it. Was first looking for a dark brown suede to do the pillars and headliner in but the more I thought about it, I didn't like how dark the interior was. So instead I got leopard printed microsuede lol
