looking to buy a urs4 or urs6

I currently have a b5s4 and im looking for another car that is some what reliable and that i can have abit of fun with as a daily driver. Right now there is 2 s4 and 2 s6 in my area fore sale. Range from 2100-5500.

Is another s4 a good idea or bad idea? and what should i look for when buying.?

The s6 only comes on auto an has a weak tranny that is known to fail.

If the tranny has been rebuilt then I say go for the s6. Beware It is a gas hog. Gives around 15 -18 average

Just my .02 but I think you are thinking of a c5 s6, not a c4 (urS6) those have manuals.

Although they are very cool cars, owning the older performance model Audis are not for the faint of heart or wallet. lets just say they have many known issues and can be challenging to sort out.. here is a typical example

Not only do they come with a 5speed manual tranny, but they also have the cool button to lock the center diff.

Oh yes. Sorry. I was thinking of the c5. Wasn't really sure what ur mean. I do now lol.

The red or green, the other two look like they have some issues (cosmetic issues turn into mechanical. Or they don't care enough for the cosmetic so chances are mechanically their junk too)

i was talking to the guy selling the 2500 URS4 and it sounds pretty good. its stock and was used a a family car since he has had it. timing belt was done at 217000km, car is now at 252000km. im thinking of just buying the urs4 and keeping the b5 s4 as well.

I'm now moving into a s6 very soon, this week or weekend. My b5 s4 blew the engine. I'm buying a 1995 s6 with 260km on the clock, mech sound. Does need some body work ( paint ect ) I will post pic later tonight

They're nowhere near as bad as a b5 s4...

True. I just bought one a few weeks ago and I'm falling in love with it and I have no idea why... Mileage is atrocious. Still planning on an HX35 and megasquirt ;)

Owner of the s6 is having second thoughts of selling now, I lookin a a urs4 this morning in case. The s4 has lower km but I little rough around the edges. S4 is also cheaper, seller said 2-2500

Do urs4 have Late clutch engagement? The one I drove today was really late to the point where I thought I was gonna stall then it engaged. I passed on the one today but have some pics coming tonight of one about 150km from me, owned by a guy working a a audi shop in red deer.

They said its normal to have late clutch engagement but this was nowhere near the clutch feel of the b5 I had.

well as most know i did buy the car from reddeer, its a 94 with now 202km on the clock.

first mod was a plastidiped grille

then a boost gauge


also added a decal

well i fixed a cupple things that were wrong last night, patched up a pwr steering leak and replaced some missing oil pan bolts ( 8). no more oil leaks and now power steering issues. still have a few things to do this week ( VC gasket, fuel filter, air filter spark plugs ect) then she should run better.

I miss the power I had for sure, but even though I have replaced some things so far the car seems so much more reliable the the b5. Overall I'm happy, car is super smooth and just relaxing to drive. Power is still there so pulling around traffic is no issue. A yea I think it was a move for the better.

I am torn..

had 2 x B5 A4's

Have the option now to buy a STG3 S4, everything done. great maintenance etc .. there is nothing left to spend. (15k)

Also a stock A4 B5 with great maintenance, only 150km on the odo. (4k)

Or a urS4, completely stock, great maintenance, timing belt, waterpump blah blah blah just done (4-5k).

I have had 2 A4's , i want an S now. Just not sure if i want a car 'that' old...

It was established September 2012 that 2.7taudi mixed up the C4 and C5 S6 and he's acknowledged he was wrong. You obviously didn't spot where he corrected himself, proof you don't read.

I want the trim, but need other things first. Still stock suspension. And I'm getting about 10L/100km

I normally go about 600km before I fill up, I fill up at 1/8 tank and it cost me between 60-65$ cdn

Car is now chipped. Running a intended acceleration stage 3+ ecu. @ 23psi.

Figure it deserves an update. Car is in the same condition and sitting at 291k now. No new mods other then exhaust. Stock DP into a 3 inch single with one magnaflow muffler.









Paint still in good shape too.
