Comeback with a wide body project :)

The center console we had to custom make it using plastic weld and plastic bond and the hvac controller was already custom made by some body here in the forums a couple of years ago. I've purchased it when I was still living in the US so like 5-6 years ago.

Damn good to know/thanks for the info. I really like the leather wrapped dash. That is something I want bad but with double din... Seems like a facelift conversion would be less work on my end!

I think it's way easier to swap for a facelift one if you find the parts. Over here finding parts it's difficult.

Btw I moved back to Albania because I only moved to the US to go to college. Once that was done I shipped my car across the ocean and moved back.

Thanks man. I love the way your car looks too.

I got the tiptronic wheel 6-7 years ago and back then the options were really limited for a 3 spoke steering wheel. But I've always wanted to put those buttons to use and I was thinking when I do a turbo upgrade maybe I can hook them up to meth controller.

Gotcha, I was wondering if the buttons could be used for something else. I'm in the middle of an auto to manual swap. It'd be cool to wiring the buttons into my air suspension

I was going to do this with my S3 wheel.

Perhaps use one side for boost and the other for manual prime for my fuel pump!

It can be done quite easily. You shouldn't have a problem using it for your pumps the_pirate.

A little update. Today me and my buddy made a double din opening for my new head unit and relocated the climate controls. It's not finished yet. The parts still need to be painted and some small details fixed.

where did you get the plastic surround piece or did you custom make that? Where did you get the plastic? I have a pre facelift as well. This is where I am at right now. Mine is a little different idea. I decided to update the climate control unit.

I actually modified the stock plastic piece. It was cut up and plastic welded and finished with plastic filler. Then it was sanded smooth and painted.

I really like the direction where yours is going as well. I like the updated climate control. Do you have a thread about it where I can stay updated?

You'll need a Tiptronic slip ring to be able to wire the buttons to anything.

And just so you know...you can't use one button for boost, and the other for anything else. They are both linked to the same track on the slip ring / clock spring. So both will control whatever you link the Tiptronic clock spring track to.

The whole reason for this is because I have purchased the following head unit: http://www.devium.us/ I have a pre order on the head unit for the galaxy note (5.3" smart phone). I think it'll be pretty sweet when im done. I've already put infinity speakers in the front doors.

4 x INFINITY REF6032CF 6.5" 180W ea (door speakers)
1000W 4 channel Pyle Mosfet Amp (door speakers)
1 x sony 1200W 12"(trunk sub)
1000W 2 Channel Pyramid Amp( sub)
100’ Raptor 12 gauge speaker wire (door speakers)
2 x 6 gauge amp wiring kits
3 x rca cable kits for low pre amp power (one for the subs other two for speakers)

Thats basically my setup as is. Needless to say putting 6.5" speakers in the doors is a real bitch.

That sounds like an awesome setup. I've got a 5 channel orion 700w and rainbow audio comps but I will definitely upgrade in the future. As far as head unit I'm going in a similar direction but I've got the pioneer appradio for the iPhone. I can't wait to get it installed.

Hadn't realised this. I will probably just get a filler plate for one side anyway and use the other side for something like intercooler sprayer or similar.

Personally, I'd be inclined to leave both buttons functional, rather than blank one out.

If it's having a color change, wouldn't it be better to paint the bumpers, panels and other little things like handles off the car?

Yeah definitely. But for now we are working on defects and put everything together and make sure that everything lines up. Once it goes for paint we'll remove the bumpers and handles but that's about it no doors or hood or trunk. It's not worth the time.

Thanks a lot guys. I'm very glad that everybody is so supportive. Work is getting a bit slower on the car but there is still progress. The bumper got a little reworked and there is still small flaws that we are fixing.

Door sills and all hidden bits are painted. Next is getting the car put back together and spray the exterior. The color is my all time favorite: Porsche Sport Classic Grey.
