    The B7 A4 Dyno Thread

What kind of dyno are most of you using? I'm thing about getting my car dyno'd but I want to use a dyno that I can compare my numbers with everyone else's.

    Hey Everyone,

I just picked up a 2008 "S Line" 2.0T Q6mt about a month ago and wanted to post my initial dyno results. I did two runs in stock and two runs in APR stage 1 93oct, all runs were in fourth gear. I noticed that my torque is higher than most of the other cars in this thread. I am attributing this to me running snow tires when I did my pulls (though the dyno operator said this would not change the results on a Mustang Dyno). I will hopefully be going stage II in the next two weeks whenever I can find time to get the car on a lift.

Here are some quick pictures of the car:

And here is the 93oct vs stock dyno reading:

mhm. that is high. I am pretty sure though most dyno shops run a 3rd gear pull. I am not sure how much it would change the numbers between a 3rd and 4th gear pull though. Power to ya if it is running that good man. clean btw

Holy cow you made more torque than any of the stage 2+ cars! If you have the funds could you find another shop with a dyno before you go stage 2? I'm honestly doubting my own dyno and plan on getting another one done too, because I've been told the operators of the dyno can inflate numbers. I'm assuming on this data sheet run #1 is stock and #2 is with the APR chip? Either way I'm jelly of your dyno run

Your stock numbers are right around the same output as a stock B7 so your dyno looks like it is from the crank. A stock B7 has 200 hp and 207 lbs of torque.

Yeah, that has to be crank readings. there is no way a stock A4 will come close to 200 WHP. You'll be lucky to reach 170 WHP stock.

Yeah, that has to be crank readings.
These are non corrected, at the wheels numbers, on a Dyno that many people have proven to be accurate. I spent some time tonight, talking with my long time friend and local ARP dealer; John@Roc-Euro. Our best guess is that the high numbers are due to me running narrower lighter snow tires. This poses a dilemma, as there is currently 6" of snow on the ground and I won't be swapping them out anytime soon.

If you have the funds could you find another shop with a dyno before you go stage 2?
There is one other shop in the area that has a mustang AWD dyno, but I feel it will read the same high numbers due to the lightweight tires. The only way I can recreate the test is to wait for spring when I put my summer tires back on, to eliminate that huge variable. The higher numbers also may be attributed to it being 20* outside and about 60* inside the shop today with near zero humidity. Come mid the late March I will redo this run, and do a stage II pull on summer tires. If the numbers are still high, I will go to the other shop for comparison. I am still debating if I want to do a snow tire stage II pull just for fun.

Anyway, thanks for all the feed back. I am liking this forum more than the B6 forum already.

    Cool Dyno Day was Successful.

Next I'm doing all my fueling components and dyno it again. I'm aiming for 270whp on stock k03.
If you call bullsh*t you can find out for yourself if it really puts down the power. I will post dyno sheet tomorrow.

Seriously!!! Why does Aui think that there is no market for TDi quattro in NA? I'd love to put down those numbers and still get the mpg they get. My whole reason for not getting an S4 (same reason I got rid of my C5 A6 4.2 & C5 S6), the mpg sucks horribly.

If you can pull it off on two different dynos with 91 octane. You must have one helleva tune and boost adjustment. What are your engine modification?

not calling bullshit...... just laughing, really, really hard. why wouldn't you just wait to post the actual dyno, instead of giving us the announcement 12hrs before? now you're gonna look silly when you fall 20fwhp (i can only assume you don't mean on a quattro) short.

people who act / put down results usually don't announce it first. they just do it... why make threats when you can just throw down instead? we don't need the introduction / pre-game haha. i guess you will find out for yourself whether it puts down the power, we all know the k03 has no air to make such numbers - upgrade the fueling components all you want!

and yes its front wheel drive, but no nitrous and also has the sh*tty CVT transmission.

oh yeah, my car also was heat soaked due to no fan with hood closed on all three runs and ambient temp of 84F. probably lost 1-3 ponies due to that.

Links are not working. That's pretty good numbers for a FWD and CVT transmission . After investing 8k in fueling and building your engine, I would of thought you would swapped out the transmission at least.

Can't see the numbers, facebook says content isn't available. But 270fwhp is quite the feat, even if you did hit 270fwhp, it wouldnt really matter, it would be just a massive spike, the k03 doesn't flow for enough for 270, you're just going to see the dyno shoot up and sharply decline. Go buy a k04 or gt28.

haha seems like he's proudly made 268 or something very close to 270 i would be proud also but i guarantee that is not a safe tune, you can blow a stock motor at 25 psi which i guarantee will throw a rod through your shit

but i still need to see the dyno lol.

Re: The B7 A4 Dyno Thread

So, 238 whp and 283 wtq? Is that correct? I believe those numbers. Good numbers too. Did we decide if this is awd or fwd? I think you could make a little more torque, but it's doubtful you can get the hp any higher.

Correct and as mentioned before its FWD CVT more power loss than manual FWD also torque will increase with fueling. I will hopefully hit 250whp with hpfp, rs4 lpfp controller, and s3 injectors with a retune.
239whp / 284wtq dyno proven (uncorrected)~270whp/305wtq with new goodies dyno results will be coming soon

like i said u can revamp your fueling as much as you want, K03 doesn't have air for 270 wheel, not even fwhp.

so is this the part where we all say "we called bullshit" and "we were right"??

Listen be more optimistic for our platform, there is a way and I'm going to show you, I dont want to reveal everything but along with the fueling, I'm getting an APR machined head.
