Re: cayenne brake upgrade ???? what rotors????

I know some guy used 17s when doing this mod on an A3 I saw a post and pics somewhere on the web. He had to shave/grind the caliper slightly on the top and bottom to get it to fit properly plus run a spacer. Its minimum clearance. I'm thinking about doing the same so I can swap between summer wheels and winter stocks down the road.

Yes we did swap over the lines to the other side of the calipers in order to mount them like oem. Sorry if there was any confusion, Jay was actually working with the rotors and I was taking care of the caliper fitment.

Jay was also working on the caliper to spindle mounting, we are having our machine shop make custom stainless steel bearings for the caliper that adapt the 16mm hole to a 14mm hole to match the spindle.

I am not sure what you are talking about, no modifications will be needed at all. No worries from a customer stand point.
Haha quit posting before I give you all the info :)

We do swap over the lines for proper oem fitment.

Yes we will, we are just finishing up an order of hardware and when we get everything squared away and ready to ship we will put it on our site.

It will be wrapped up before our rotors are ready to ship

Re: cayenne brake upgrade ???? what rotors????

Our rotors are NOW in stock and ready to ship. We have shipped some of the rotor sets and we just ran out of brake lines. So we are delayed on shipping the full kits and the rotor purchasers that got the lines as well. We will get more brake lines next week and be shipping the rotors that had bought the brake line kit and the full BBKs. Unfortunately with any new product sometimes our suppliers take a little time to gear up for a new demand on a part they currently don't sell much of. Once we get more in stock we will do our best to order plenty in advance like we have been doing to keep up and not have a vendor run out again.

We have our hardware kit finalized. We made custom 16mm stainless steel sleeves that fit snuggly in the 16mm opening on the calipers. Since the bolt for the spindle is only 14mm there is slop. So we developed this setup that will fit tight on both.

Here are the bolt kits in our store, these are in stock and ready to ship -> http://www.jhmotorsports.com/shop/ca...roducts_id=467

We have no problem trying. Anyone got a rear cayenne caliper to send us??? HEHE.

Once we get caught up with other stuff we may look into it. However it wouldn't be too necessary, more of a cosmetic mod since most of the braking is achieved form the fronts. Usually just a larger rotor in the rear with some good pads and stainless lines does the trick.

Re: cayenne brake upgrade ???? what rotors????

I am finally going to do the Touareg 330mm calipers with the C240 Sport rotors Benz rotors. They will fit under the stock 17s I think, which is my goal. I like the stock look. The rotors already come cross-drilled, but they ain't cheap. The ML55 rotors are cheaper in fact, but I don't want to move to 18s.

Hopefully get everything ready to go by next week. Already sourced the calipers, just need to pick em up ($200 for both!!!!!!) and order rotors. Then probably, for ease of installation, order up the JHM bolts and some lines (thanks for offering the parts individually, I am sick of companies like ECS only selling stuff in a package).

The other advantage I see to this setup (for me at least), is that I can always machine some extender/adapters if I want to move to the 345mm or larger rotors in the future.

Brian, if you go Cayenne calipers in the rear, I'd consider buying those 034 adapters back from you!

i've seen sets of front and rear Cayenne calipers on ebay for pretty cheap so I think it would be awesome if JHM or someone made a kit to run the rears since there are so few options for rear brake upgrades on our cars...

those would be 330mmx32mm MB 230 Sport rotors. It was was suggested earlier in the thread. I wanted to still be able to use stock wheels for winter and long trips. The BBS are 17" as well.

    Hey Pzp

Not sure if this will even help, but did you guys look at these hats and rings from Willwood? ...Not even sure if that would be any cheaper and if they would fit, but they have the measurements etc on there...

It was a possibility in the beginning. I was going to make my own and use an aftermarket rotor ring manufacturer. I called two of them and they were very pricey. Plust hat wouldnt really help any of your guys out. I dont remember if I called wilwood and it could be an option but more than likely they dont have an off the shelf hat that would work. I am sure they have a rotor ring, but then we are talking money to have them make a hat.

A few people PM'ed me about what the actual clearance is with stock rims (touareg calipers). This is without any spacer, and actually I didn't have the wheel quite bolted down, so the clearence is actually about 1-2mm better then what you are seeing right there. Its only a few mm's less then the stock clearance. I would be perfectly comfortable driving without a spacer. Its the wheel weights that are more of an issue. The stick-on ones get a bit close to the top of the caliper.

Just buy b7 rs4 lines. I am sure they will cheaper. You can also buy the lines from paragon motorsports. They are the cheapest and you would just get the ones for an a4 to porsche calipers. Its like 3 or 4 from the bottom of the list for the b5 a4.
