    Sad day for me....

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
Hey fellas, i've been on the Zine for a very long time. In fact i've gone through 3 Audi's during my tenure on here. A4 1.8t Sportec body and rims. A3 2.0t, and S4 Avant Sportec rims/RS6 rims/BBS rims.

Sadly, i sold my favorite tonight....my Avant. I'm feeling pretty down right now and could use some cheering up. I haven't cried over anything ever....today i actually feel a little choked up over my decision. I think it was a stupid of me to sell her. Haven't exchanged money yet...but it is scheduled to occur tomorrow morning.

It was a good,..no in fact it was a GREAT run with the Avant. Probably the single most favorite car i've owned (and i've owned some good ones from 2.0 16v MK2 GTI to HSE Range Rover).

    Some final farewell pics...

    Re: Sad day for me....

    You sold it! Congrats!

Now you can stop bugging me about wheel options!

Now go find a nice B5A4 chassis, bring it to Blitzkrieg and have them transplant Scott's 2.7tt engine with the 3071s and S4 transmission into it.

    Re: Sad day for me....

I'm not feeling too good right now...i need some time to come to terms with what i just did.
Not sure a 2.7tt engine is gonna do much for me right now. Sounds nice and all, but the B6 Avant is just soooo damn nice, not sure i'll recover from this.

    Re: Sad day for me....

You'll recover. To be honest I'd sell my wagon but I doubt anyone local would pay that much for it and I'm not going to strip it apart.

Go buy a B6 Avant and have them transplant the 2.7tt and cluster into it. The boys have beenn itching to do that for a while now.

Dude, sorry to hear that, but I'm sure you'll come up with something and make it equally good looking.

I'm selling my B6 Avant too, and every day I take a look at it I ponder just storing it in the garage instead.

Easy for me to say 'You'll replace it with something soon' but I'll know it's going to be hard to find something prettier than the lines of a nicely stanced B6 Avant

With the right stance, Avants are just beautiful. Too bad we can't get the RS4 Avants here, otherwise this would've be an easy decision.

Probably not going to help your separation issues, but maaan is that thing beautiful. You did it exactly right.

I'm sure you can find something that fits you well, or at least a nice blank canvas for you to build on. Hopefully someone figures out how to throw a nice big turbo on a B8 A4 Avant.

    Re: Sad day for me....

Not sure yet. I drove the 535i tonight...just because i was curious. Frankly i hated it. Soft, cushy, not really my style. Its actually pretty ugly. I'll drive a few other cars and see what i like. RS4 is high on my hit list. The S4 Avant with a properly tuned suspension felt like a hunkered down tank on wheels. Very tight and secure. Sure it's a very heavy car, but i kinda like the secure feeling it provided. The awd grip is also something that sticks out for me.

    OK... I found your replacement!

    C5 RS6 Avant

    - has the Recaro seats you are used to
    - has very similar lines of the B6 Avant
    - has more than enough power
    - has SERIOUS bragging rights

    Re: Sad day for me....

if you liked it that much to cry about it, why sell it? I am on my fourth avant and 5th audi since joining AZ. It took me this long and making a huge mistake in trading my b6 for an H3 to figure out that I really love these cars and wont ever go back. All along, my wife drove an Audi and reminded me of my idiotic decision. She laughed at me every day I got into that big hunk of hummer shit. I am buying my B7 avant after my lease is up in a few months.

Hey Dickson....i'm sulking at the moment. Take good care of her. Keep her parked inside a garage. Throw an update my way whenever you can. Also...VF is coming out with a supercharger, i was considering going that route had i held on to her.

Don't think the RS6 avant can be brought into North America....and if it can, i'm pretty sure its not the most feasible option.
