    Mountain run in the snow.

Some people prefer to go skiing and such, i'd rather spend my entire day like this. Wish that the road was closed off so that there was not the constant scetchyness of possible oncoming cars but it was still fun.

I just have the S4 wheels with Yokohama W-drive tires on it, unfortunatly the thinest i can put on is 225's and in really deep snow its a bit floaty, but otherwise they are amazing.

    edit: here is a pic

I actually currently live in the Middle East, but come back to Denver for Christmas and Summer.

I'll be a freshman next year and should have a b5 S4 by then so we should definitely set something up in the summer or fall

Nice video. What road was that?

I was also going to go look at an avant in boulder sometime soon.

Well next time we get a meet organized you should come on down. We should start having meets again in the next couple months. But it's just hard with the unpredictable weather we have here in CO.

If you have a helmet (snow tires = pro street division, which requires a helmet) you should come up to some of the ice races on Georgetown Lake. I plan to race Jan 2 and 4, for sure and some other days if I can.

I agree with you on having fun in the snow, but a lot of people don't wanna go out in the cold. At least that's the complaint I hear most.

And thanks for the info, I also have the sticky pod pro pack. That was one of my Christmas presents to myself.

They don't have 3k of elevation gain in 3 miles, it's not the same. I drive through the Adirondacks a couple times a year, they're not the same as CO, MT, UT, CA, WY, OR, WA. You have mountains out there, not mole hills of 5k feet, out west you're at 6k to 13k with switch backs, not bends.

Roads don't drop 1k feet into isolated glacier formed lakes in NY.

Those photo's are in the Sierra Nevada in June(yup June), not the Rockies, Wasatch, Teton's or Cascades; all of which have elevations of 12k+, CA, CO, WA have peaks at 14K + . The road "The Russian" is on will most likely have blast control happening very shortly, will receive over 300" on avg. a season and is nothing like anything found in the Adirondacks in any quasi comparable way.

In all the states I mentioned plus Montana etc... I'm talking about the avalanche control done with both dynomite and the howitzer stations they blast mortor rounds from, they literally shoot a mortor round at a face to produce a slide. I should have taken a shot of the one I passed everyday in Tahoe, it's they same thing you'd see in Utah or Colorado etc...

It definetly shocks people when they see it or hear it for the fist time.

Yeah, we have a couple of those hese in CO, but they are starting to just drop charges from helicopters to cause an avalanche.
