I think its legal to run if you are allowed to run without a front plate. For example here in MA, if your plate numbers are written in green(older version plates) you dont have to run a front plate. Whereas if the letters are red(newer style plate) you are required to run a front plate as well. A couple of my friends run europlates regardless and rarely get hassled for having them, and their cars are not stock to say the least.

i got shi* from a cop in utah for having my front plate off to the right side of the bumper on my old civic... he said it wasnt "mounted" correctly lol... i had an intercooler on there and it blocked air so i won the court battle but still do cops have nothing better to do...

I had the same problem in my GLI. One side whole was for the intake and the other for the front mount. And i get pulled over and he tells me that the plate is not in the middle and its too low. The whole car was too low thats why the plate looked low.

And yes. Suburban area cops have nothing to do.

i think it also depends alot on where you live...down here where i live, theres not much crime, and the cops have nothing better to do...hey, they have to get their numbers every month too..just trying to do their job..they are basically pressured into pulling you over and ticketing you for really nothing..

I thought NVR FLLW would be a good Euro plate and to my knowledge its not taken. I thought about putting that on mine but instead I took my actual plate number and put that on my Euro plate and put Maine state registration tags in the corner, we'll see how long I can get away with that. I also carry my front plate up front w/me so that if i do get stopped I can just throw it up in the windshield and say "look I have a front plate" WTF?!?

Are you really going to pull that line on someone that has put that much custom work in their car? Say it's not your style, give constructive criticism, and move on. Don't try to rag on someone elses work though.



To the OP. Personally on a europlate I'd put something that relates to your car itself. For example I have a europlate that says ALPINE because the majority of the work in my car has been dedicated to audio/visual work and all my components are Alpine. Just a thought...

I've thought about doing that myself with getting a Euro plate with my exact license numbers on it. I'm sure a Jersey cop would pull me over in a heartbeat though, but come on, the plates just longer and white instead of yellow.
