VT Inspection until 12/2008

Have owned it since October 2005, and I believe I'm the 4th owner (2 in CT, 2 in VT). This is a rare and fun car. I have used it as my daily driver since purchase. Garage kept at my house (and previous owner). Never fails to immediately start on even the coldest days (have started it after work below 0F…no problems). The coupe is a tank in the snow.

I have not found the coupe's replacement yet, so I'm flexible on time frame for sale.

Car has been maintained by Imported Car Center in Williston, VT.

Exterior Details

Paint in decent condition. Still bright red. Regularly washed and waxed by me. One small point of light paint discoloration on the hood above the driver's side headlight. Barely noticeable when waxed. Small rust spot on the front driver's side quarter panel. Some paint bubbling near the rear bumper.

Both headlights work perfectly. As do both foglights.

All power fluids work except for the front windshield. Have not looked into it.

Auto Glass

Glass is in perfect condition. No chips.

Interior Details

Black leather. Back seat looks brand new. Both driver's and passenger seat in fantastic condition. No tears or wear marks. Heated seats work perfectly. Both power seats fully functional.

All gauges work, and all bulbs work (with the exception of the driver's side heated seat bulb). Trip computer works, as well as the auto climate control. AC does not work. Have not looked into the AC. Didn't feel I needed it in VT. Heat works great.

Dash is free of cracks, and fading. Trim, and other panels in perfect condition.

Power windows all work. Sunroof works perfectly.

Mechanical

All belts changed as of 9/07 (TB, etc.). Usual things done at timing belt change. Engine is very strong. Pulls hard. Clutch is firm. Front and rear rotors and pads with plenty of life. Front rotors and pads replaced spring 06, rear replaced in fall 06. Have receipts for TB and other various suspension components replace last fall.

Locking Differential does not work. Have not had it looked into.

Passenger side door lock does not work. The fix is a simple cable replacement in the door. Have not had it fixed, but have the parts.

Exhaust is a strebro aftermarket exhaust.

I suspect the front passenger side needs a new wheel bearing.

Wheels

Comes with 2 sets of rims. Original speedline rims, and borbet type rims with snows. Have extra set of bolts for the speedline rims.

Misc.

Comes with many parts, including oil filters, etc.

It does NOT have the 20v Turbo (although the turbo engine can be put into the car...many have done so).

what kind of gas mileage does it get?

70mph on the highway, 21-22mpg.

My 4 mile to work and back commute (back roads, and 1 stoplight), 17-18mpg.

You sure she wouldn't mind?? I'd keep it if I had 3 garage bays. Doesn't seem right for me to keep it and not drive it, and leave it outside during the winter (and my wife would kill me if we had a car sitting in the driveway...funny how these things work).

Yes. I don't have one.

However, I've had two Cervelo CF frames in the back (obviously with the seats down, front tires off, and some towels to keep the frames from rubbing).

Are these more reliable than the newer ones because I know everybody says there is a lot to fix on the new ones and can get expensive. I saw another one like it with 250,000 miles on it for the same price, is that common for these cars?

My car has been reliable, but I get stuff fixed when it needs it. It has never left me stranded. On these older cars, something can break at any time (as with any car actually). I've been lucky with mine, but I think there is a reason it's still on the road even having 190k miles.

Over my almost 3 years of ownership, I think I've spent ~$3k on maintenance and parts, etc. I don't do much of my own wrenching, so if I did, that total would be less.

If I had the time to really wait to get what I think it's worth (~$4200 with all the extras), then it would be priced higher. But I don't want to have it sit around my driveway. It's too nice a coupe for that.
