First Avant!

Well after owning some sort of Audi over the last 6-8 years I finally got my first avant. 2001 Cactus Green S4. Got an MTM chip on it for now, hope to get an exhaust on soon, some new wheels (so if you know anyone who wants the OEM ones let me know), some tint and possible lowered (live in WI).

Here's some pics for now, little dirty but so are the roads. Also threw up a pics of my s4 sedan!

I had to pick it up, it was for sale by a private party. It was so neglected - the engine bay is a mess, the seats and interior were in horrible condition and it had not seen a bath in months. Changed most of that with a little TLC and some elbow grease. Interior and seats are in tip top shape now, as you can see by the pics it still needs a bath and a wax.

You guys got any tips on cleaning the engine bay?

Also looking for roof rack accessories, any good places to start?

Great color - don't see too many c-greens around - congrats & g/l w/ it! How many miles on it?

For the engine bay - might try Simple Green and some elbow grease....Enjoy!

Really nice avant, the green looks good.

I second simple green and a bit of elbow grease. I did mine with simple green and a wet cotton terry cloth, EXPECT to throw away the terry cloth..:) Simple green wont mess up your plastic or paint. You can also mix a solution of armorall and and water, witha few drop of alchol into a bottle, to recondition the hoses and plastic, it gives the plastics a clean but original look without a high gloss shine. I use my special cleaning solution of this mixture for the interioir plastics, it moisturizes the plastics leaves no streaks and doesnt give you that sticky greasy look.

It has 95,000 miles on it, more than I was looking for, but I couldn't refuse the price.

I am going to get it all shined up this weekend, maybe I can update the pics. Kind of embarrassed to introduce myself with a dirty car.

Actually it will be kind of cool to see it dirty first and then the happy ending with a shiny and beautiful detail job. Check the detailing forum I am a recent convert to the detailing bug. A good buff and some gloss will make that color look awesome.

OH Man, I really miss my old B5 Cactus S4 now... I hate seeing pictures of it... Don't get me wrong, I LOOOVE my B6 but, damn, the B5 had SOOOO much potential!!!

Any recommendations on rims? I am looking for something that I can run all season long with no worry about rusting/corrosion. Got 90inches of snow in WI this year and I don't want to worry about cleaning my wheels every day!
