sick build! how about some videos. what made you go for the PES whipple s/c instead of the APR TVS ? I hear PES has a horrible reputation when it come to reliability and software. Are you also running KLINE headers ?

    cheers,
videos are coming once I get my hands back on the car, track session on 11th so there will be some extra ...

personally I like the whipple design over TVS but it does not matter cause there won't be any RS5 TVS setup available for a while,

what made me go with PES - there is no APR kit for RS5 you could buy, PES stepped up in the game recently, collaborating with known German tuner MCCHIP-DKR (Danny Kubasik), who did my two previous tunes I was happy with. PES did great job on hardware design and together with MCCHIP came up with very good tune for the supercharger offering couple of variants if you wish. Overall I'm quite happy with PES so far, good value for money. We ran into couple of complications during the process due to differences to face lifted cars from 2013 etc but it's all good.

KLINE headers - yes I do have them installed, they actually made quite a difference especially with the blower, great design took the heat away from engine bay (relocated cats, free flowing and increased in size and length primaries ) and brought significant difference in torque delivery (stretched curve, comes in earlier and stays for much longer). highly recommend those headers, feel free to ask any questions.

explodes!? - no offence mate but almost next door I see daily drive RS6 monster 4.2 V8 with upgraded big boys TT running on stock internals about 1200Nm at the wheels, manual box retrofit etc, with no worries and his just half way done as from that point new internals may be coming in ... if he explodes I will hear it first ...

I don't mean it will exploid because of the strength of the motor, I know what that motor can handle. I'm saying it will exploid because of poor hardware and tuning.

Awesome marzz, looking forward to hear the dyno results.

Looks like your right number plate light has also decided to die. You should get LED's installed, I've had them on my S5 for a while now, but need to get another set soon.

ok, first dyno runs revealed some solid gains on all wheels +183 hp (+136kW) and +189Nm,

same dyno, same conditions, same shell V-power fuel, the car did not move from the rollers, the install, as you could see on pics was performed on the actual dyno, not that we planned it but it turned out there was no more room available
so the process was - last run, engine off, ECU out, SC slapped on, tuned ECU in, and couple of runs with similar results, no cheating, no low/high readings.

still waiting for the lighter pulley to arrive so I could have pretty much "the final" setup completed (for now at least)
will dyno elsewhere as well to confirm the final numbers

I am definitely not in love with the aesthetic aspects of the blower, but I feel like you made the best of a rainy day with it.

Hang it there, that is gonna make you grin so hard every time you put a little throttle to her.

haha the ribs were polished earlier and just taped for the paint job - black with satin clear coat, so once the paint was dry tape came off

decided to go ahead and upgrade the stronic software (TCU) as well from German Motoring, to lift off the torque limits on high revs and speed up the shifts, should come through next week.

been talking with German Motoring (Peter Northrop) for couple of months now and he assured about the following results:
    • shift speed increase (not sure how's that measured by anyways)
    • change to shift time and shift patterns
    • increase torque requests limits (interested in this one the most)
    • holding torque for longer
    • increased throttle response

similar software upgrade was developed by GIAC while ago
they apparently increase the clutch packs pressure as well, where Peter says no need.

From what little I understand of the dual clutch transmissions, I was under the impression that torque delivery was never interrupted, even when changing gears. If this is true I'm curious to know what these benefits are of "holding torque for longer" and increased "torque requests." Please keep us posted on your findings and driving impressions.

I know I've asked you before, but remind me what you've done for suspension and how you would rate your experience with the respective parts... Trying to decide on a setup for mine right now.

factory rims and tire size for the moment, see how much wheel spin we get with PES and what's the maximum rim/tire width we could fit, if so ...

wondering if 305/315 in 19" would fit at the rear, anybody tried?

I have 20x10.5 all around on 295/30... They fit perfectly, but I'm not lowered. I have a friend who wedged 305 in the back of an S5 so it should be no problem on your RS. I would venture to say you could even make 315's work. I know that 325's are available from Michelin in a much smaller overall diameter, so even those might be work-able. Who knows. If anyone can do it, I would pick you.
