Yes I wanted to be different something different plus I like material feel more than leather on certain areas , plus wanted sport seats , I could of got sport leather seats with alcantra insert in the middle but I was too late.. so I got these, I am happy... plus my wife will be happy too she rarely sit in my car, she doesn't like leather..

They look great. I don't dislike leather in an Audi, but I think the cloth seats look really cool because you wont find them in practically any Audis in the US/Canada. And I like the pattern too.

So I weight the front and rear leather seats that came in my A6 avant and compared to the full set seats I got and here are the numbers


Complete standard leather seats front and rear weighted 178 kg = 392 lbs
each Front seat weighted 62 kg ~ 136 lbs
rear seat bench weighted 52 kg ~ 115 lbs

Complete Sport cloth seats front and rear weighted 87 kg = 191 lbs
each Front seat weighted 27 kg ~ 60 lbs
rear seat bench weighted 33 kg ~ 72 lbs



complete difference of 91kg = 200 lbs

Keep in mind the weight difference is not material, the Euro seats only have powered backrests. Full manual seats weight in at about half of the 1/2 power seats.

yes..
actually what is powered is up and down motion and the back support, the entire backrest is manual and the forward and backward motion is manual ..

what I notice that the backrest must have some sort of metal re-enforce in North American seats (could be related to required safety, example the rear bench the heaviest part was the back rest on North American seat , they were heavier than euro back rest , it is possibly the same in front seats they have more metal reinforcement..
so far two days of driving and I do like them a lot, I do not slide anymore like I did on previous seats , and I do like the bolster support
