Oh wow, that is cool. I should try that out. I just have the ebay cable, but I am sure I can get in there to tinker around.

I picked up a set of License Plate LEDs from a guy on Vortex last year, been working fine ever since.

Just bought a set of 1156 Ba15S CREE Leds from this seller on eBay

Oh that's only the tester. My buddy is bringing back some prototype ~2.5" diameter high power LEDs fro Taiwan to retro into my HID housings. They're making me custom brackets to bolt right in place of the high beams. I'll have HID+LED QUADS.

You should LED the eff out of your nuts so you don't crash and burn on your next tea baggin run. Braaaaah.

i just checked the link you posted on the other thread these look to be the exact same bulbs with same wattage

Ohhh, I gotcha. Yeah, I randomly ordered these just before before checking this thread. Bimmer guy posted em on RogueEuro. Nice work BTW, I love LED lighting. Stoked on the pnp City Lights too.

Now if there was only a really bright brake light option... that would be really cool.

Actually, you're not Vinny. I wanted the LED look but not so uber bright as it would attract to much attention from the local authorities. Sheriffs follow me around on a regular basis, no need to give them any more reason.

Since the LED plate portion of my LEDs are flat, I simply rotated each bulb inward a bit maybe 20-30deg. Worked great. They're a little brighter than shown in this pic but the overall values of the LEDs and taillights are accurate... everything is a bit brighter in person.

Not a matter of hiding anything. And not saying this is going to happen per say or that I condone it. But if you get caught driving super fast by local authorities...having these SUPER bright LED's is basically just helping them have binoculars, or an extra set lights for easy reading. I'd rather be stealth... Just a personal preference. Hence my new plate soon.

If you were up here you'd be pulled over right quick my friend. I miss that about SoCal... a lot. North of SF you'll get sweated like you're a high school kid. Pretty weird cause I'm older than 75% of the officers who've pulled me over.
However, I am a bit jealous whenever I see a new Lexus on the freeway. Those always look soooo nice... as do yours.

on the other hand, if you were driving normal but the LEDs are too dim you could get pulled over also. I had a friend who had a euro plate behind his license plate and was stopped because the lights weren't hitting his plate well enough, making it hard for the officers to read... stupid i know

Definitely looking forward to some bighter brake lights. I'd love to blind people when I stop. LEDs are really good at getting people's attention. Rear ended= No bueno.

We should figure out how to wire up the mono rear fog into the brakes (and add wiring to the pass side). That would be pretty epic... quad LED brake lites.

Bische wired up the dual rear fogs to work as brake lights if I remember correctly.

Superbrightled's has some supposedly brighter tails, but they would be about $50. I have been thinking about them for about 6 months, but can't justify that over some of the other purchases I have to make.

From the sounds of it you would just cut the two wires off of the rear fog and leave the ones coming from the harness disconnected. Then simply split the regular brake light wire into a Y for + and - and connect those to both sockets. I would think that should work, but I obviously haven't tried it.

I literally just did this this weekend bought 5w bulbs for my rear fogs and wired them to my rear lights. I didn't cut the wires that usually supply the fogs so that its reversible.

You could leave the 21w bulbs in place and wire them to the brake lights instead. Simples.

I did exactly what davkav did

The wires(at least on avants) connecting to the taillight are not wrapped the last 4", so I just took a small length of wire and spliced the fog +feed to the rear light +feed.

I dont have any replacement bulbs left, but I just took the Fog light bulb with me in to the store and compared the socket, there is a 5w bulb with the same socket. If someone wanted to, you could do this to your brake light instead..
