Turning off warning chime when lights on

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
Tried searching and didn't turn up anything. I have a 2010 P+ that comes with the auto headlights and its always on the auto position. I really get annoyed when the warning chime goes off telling you that the lights are on when the driver door is open.

Is there a way to turn that off? I understand the reason for this feature if its not set on the auto position...

    Thanks!

This question would be better asked in the VAG-COM thread in the Tech forum.

As far as I know, this has not been figured out. Doesn't mean it's impossible though.

Or you can just push the reset button on the underside of the wiper stalk to mute the buzzer.

After finding the mute, I really enjoyed the car that much more. That buzzer is annoying, especially when the ignition is on an I'm looking at stuff at night with the VAG cable.

I used OBD eleven to disable the "lights on" warning tone. Long coding, as it wasnt a preset change. Cant remember exactly how but your answer is found through searching. Vagcom should be capable as well! You'll be so much happier with it disabled. Same with the seatbelt tone!

Why would somone be happier with a safety warning device disabled or warning their battery could discharge disabled ?

Just hit the button for the rare times you need too.

Just personal preference I guess. I disabled my seatbelt warning, because I could even though I wear a seatbelt religiously. The lights on chime drove me nuts. Anytime I made a stop and jumped in or out it would go off. Many times I leave the car running and run in some place and got sick of hearing it, as did my passengers. My lights almost never leave the auto position. So yes.. Its night, I lwft my car running, I got out real quick...There ia absolutely no need to tell me my lights are on. To each their own

I believe this is the thread I used to disable the "Lights on" warning.
