    AVJ vs AMB

I got the AVJ engine, from what i can see theres no difference to the AMB besides the "tune". The AVJ is 150hp and AMB is 170(?)hp.
Is there any physical differences between the two?

Note: AMB is the US version and AVJ is the european version.

If you really want to get technical only difference is available power.

AVJ: 150 PS (110 kW; 148 bhp) vs AMB: 163 PS (120 kW; 161 bhp)

European models AVJ have less power, because gas prices in Europe are nuts.

I know by own experience the BEX's and AEB's have vast differences compared to the AVJ/AMB's

Ok let me help you out here I did a swap from AVJ to a BFB car and there are some difrences.

the USA AMB is Identical to the BFB

but the AVJ is difrent to the BFB and AMB.

    difrences between AVJ and AMB:

    1. TIP (the rubber pipe that is the inlet to the turbo) they are difrent because of the mounting locations of the pancake valve
    2. the pipes that go to the comby valve (the one in the back of the head) are difrent and routed difrently through the engine but the valve still mounts in the exact location
    3. alternators the avj has the pulley pinned to the altarnator shaft anf the BFB has the pulley mounted on a oneway bearing
    4. vacuum lines under the intake manifold. there is less lines and check valves on the avj than on the bfb,amb

as for the block and head:

all avj , bfb , amb they are all the same internals (exept the crank) they are al 19mm pin 1.8t small port heads
the crank shaft on all BFB and AVJ are the same used on the 5speed AMB

here is a BFB block with a AEB head

Thanks, i was wondering about the internals. theres very few people BTing the 1.8t's over here, and the few who does, claims the stock block handles 300chp. Reading on here the word is 300whp on stock blocks, thats why im confused.

would be nice to get my hands on a used BEX

I've got a BFB engine damaged and the only engine I can find is a AMB engine.
My question is ..Can I put the 1.8t AMB engine into my B7 witch had a BFB ? Would I need to change anything over?
