audi c5 a6 Coolant sensor is prone to fail? my dash coolant temp gauge was point to center. do I still need to replace it?
I suggest to save the time as well as you have time to work on your car its up to you but you can check on the coolant sensor if its not leaking thats fine also look at the temperature how long takes to get on normal position? if it take more than 10-12 minutes then replace it

not that long, in warm texas weather the gauge get on the center about 3-5 minutes.

so then you don't have to change it.

The most important is the TB get that done first after you can change the ATF . make sure you have to change the filter too

also, the previous owner claims the TB and WP have been replaced at 40,000 miles because the car was not driven very often.
so i am not sure if it needs replacement yet, but you can never be too safe i guess?

if previous owner kept the receipt then you can wait to 120k, otherwise no. TB break risk will be very high after 80K. And that will lead to a major engine repair.

i will have to go to the shop and see if they have the receipts or records. because the PO didnt give me any paperwork for anything.

If the car has 80K at this moment and the TB has been done on 40K then you have 35K left to change it
