Well put. The exact same impressions I've been handing out for a year now. Fantastic for daily driving, comfort, and adjustability. Not designed for track use.

Agreed with adamazing. I have these coils on my 2012 avant since May and so far i like them. It's the best bang for my bucks. Mine already have a bit over 4k miles on them and the ride quality still near OEM.

Couple things I dislike about the set are how difficult to set the right level on all corners and how some of the dials worn out pretty easily during frequent adjustment.

I figured that it would be easier to compress the spring first before adjusting the dials for the height.

My true test for this set would be coming this winter. Quite a number of members in this forum reported how easy this set getting rusted. I live in southern California but I also snowboard often. Dealing with road salt and water, I want to see how this set will hold up against rust. I'm ordering boeshield T9 spray for the protective layer and will monitor how it will work against rust and element.

On occasions when it does/IF it snows up here in Seattle, State DOT generally uses some salt, but nothing like the East Coast. Rain is more frequent so I may choose to spray my setup as well.

Neat idea but I think wrapping the coil using canvas bag could lock in more moisture and it seems pretty cumbersome to make my own bags.

Plus, the springs and struts on the rear axle are separated so this bagging method might not work.

I'll just try to stick to the boeshield spray/respray and do frequent undercarriage wash.

I have the same feelings on the solowerks. I enjoy the ride. They did settle a bit so I had to raise them slightly which wasn't the easiest, but I'm satisfied for now. I may spray them with something this winter, but IDK.

That's right. I forgot about the suspension setup in the rear.

There's a bunch of reviews online about guys doing exactly what is linked and the entire strut comes out looking new. The only exceptions being the portions that have been exposed at the top/bottom

I've got about 11k on mine, driven almost across the country with no issues. I'm stationed here in SD and it snows a lot, yet I'm still enjoying them.

I just saw that on instagram and they're sitting in my cart as I'm typing. Going to sit on them until tomorrow to make sure I'm making the right choice for me and what I want from budget coils.....not just trying to save a few bucks.

Yup, I paid $600 for the install here in the SF Bay Area. I've had them on my B8 for about a year and half with more than 30,000 miles on them. The coilovers are very comfort focused and not for performance. I don't regret my decision.

I put struts and springs on my GTI a while back so I’m pretty confident I can knock these out in a day

What seller on eBay is doing that promo?

Edit: sorry just realized you didn’t quote me, you were talking to keiffr

Great coil overs for the money. Quality material. Only have about 1,500 miles on them so far. Only problem I have is a small squeak coming from the rear on bumps but I think it’s from tire touching fender because all the bushings are still good. Installing new wheels tomorrow I’ll see if that changes it at all
