Any interest? 8V Drive Select Memory Module

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
Many of you know that Audi in their infinite wisdom resets the drive select mode each time we power cycle. If you shut off the car in dynamic and then start the car the ADS screen will still say dynamic. However, the car isn't actually in dynamic. The car will ALWAYS default the engine and trans to more efficient modes. To get back into your preferred driving mode you have to manually cycle through each drive mode to actually activate it. CETE created a module for the 8Y to fix this.

Just gauging interest in having CETE develop a module for the 8V like they have for the 8Y. You can see all the info on the 8Y module here.

The 8Y module is $225 so I'd assume pricing would be similar for the 8V.

This is a cool retrofit to have. It is absolutely annoying to have to cycle every time you turn on the car.

I always presumed this was just nonsense as my car has never defaulted to comfort mode after cycling the ignition. Has this been documented somewhere?

Interesting, it does say 'depending on the model'. I'll need to re-read my owners manual.

In the MY2016 owners manual pages 146-149 cover the drive modes, and there is no mention of the drive mode resetting after cycling the ignition.

I always assumed this was a normal function to preserve your engine when cold. You don't want it shifting at 4-5k when you first start it up.

That's solely a function of the transmission being set to Sport Mode. I can understand the trans starting in D vs S after power cycle... It's all of the other ADS modes changing I'm not a fan of.

That's interesting, I have a launch edition S3 (14 build date) and only the transmission resets to drive when I shut it off in dynamic mode. The magride is clearly still in dynamic and the steering is also still in dynamic when I restart my car. I didn't know that this was an issue for some folks
