CETE Automotive has introduced some new memory modules that have the ability to memorize the drive select mode and/or stop/start assist setting on shutoff. The drive select memory is a great little addition for RS models which have the terrible design to drop out of RS modes to standard drive select modes when restarted.

Information:
With this CETE Automotive drive select memory module you will no longer have your drive select set back to Auto or out of your chosen drive select mode on every startup. Especially useful for RS owners that want the car to restart in their chosen RS mode. The RS mode must be set with the touchscreen for it to be memorized for the next startup. The SSA module memorizes your Stop/Start system setting so no more turning the SSA off on every startup if you dislike that feature. With the long press of a factory button you can turn the module(s) on or off. The full factory control systems stay intact and functional. Both modules can be installed into one vehicle to have both functions memorized.

Modules are ready to ship now directly to your location. Ordering can be done directly through the link above which takes you to the Europrice website or with any authorized reseller. Shipping cost is not included in the product pricing and is calculated upon checkout depending on your location (you can estimate shipping by adding the product to your cart and viewing the car at any time). Any chance you could make one of these for seating position?
I'd pay at least $500 to not have to manually adjust every time, since my wife and I swap who drives fairly often.

Unfortunately seating memory is more complex as it usually involves the seat having motors with position switches or locators. Then those are wired to a seating module that has memory which communicates with the car and is wired to the memory switch. Cars that do have the memory seating can have those positions set to a specific key as well, but if the car does not have seat memory sadly there's a lot involved in adding seats that do have it.

There is a stop/start memory module available for the 8V, but no drive select memory module available or in the works it would seem. I can inquire with CETE as to the technical feasibility of doing a drive select memory module for the 8V but the ones they've just released with the newest touch screen MMI specifically.

Okay, that sounds good. I hate the whole drive select function on our rs3's. If they come back with the possibility of it, i would love to hear.

My car, however, doesn't have the stop start, so I'm not worried about that part.

There was an issue with the C8 drive select capable memory module that appears to be solved, switched power vs. constant on power to the module. This product was pulled for a few days just in case the issue was present with any other drive select memory modules, but after checking with RS3 8Y owners these are not effected.

The product link is up and working again now. In stock as well.
