    Hi there,

suspension is stock non-sport/sline and I am running 255/40/19. It rubs in almost every pothole here in Montreal, Canada... I read threads saying that you don't rub with this size but here I come, rubbing on the highway

So I want to ask what is the best size for 19" by 9" rims ? the stock one is 235/35/19 or 255/35/19 ?
What are you guys running, with same setup ?

    Thanks!

I have 19x9 wheels with an aggressive et33 offset and stock sport suspension. With 255/35/19 tyres I only rub over big bumps with passengers in the rear.

You should be fine running 255/35/19 on the non-sport suspension.

I think the stock S-line wheels mine came with were 19x8.5 et43 and my aftermarket wheels are 19x9.5 et45 both running 255/35/19 tires

I'm running 19x8.5 et35 with 255/35/19 tires. On Bilstein B12 kit, I rarely rub. Haven't had passengers in my car yet but I've stuffed my trunk pretty good and haven't had an issues.

What wheels do you have and what is the offset? That will be key to determine whether you are pushing the tire out/in too much and getting into the rubbing territory.
The other part that plays against you is the side profile of your tires. 255/40 is Allroad spec. I assume you have an A4, which calls for 255/35. Your tire is 12.75mm taller than OE spec, so ~0.5" closer to the body/fender and the whole car sits 0.5" higher as well. Typically, it may not matter, but you have 9" wide wheel with unknown offset.
See the effects of moving away from OE spec here by plugging in your specs: https://www.willtheyfit.com/index.ph...h=9&offset2=33

    Thanks for the answers guys.
I dont know the exact offset, I should take the wheel off and check it out. I managed to find some Michelin PSS 255 35 19 and it seems that it resolved my rubbing issue.
